We stayed in Unit E-104 for a week in September 2018, rented through Alii Resorts. This unit is beautifully designed and upgraded - both bedrooms and bathrooms are large, with great luxury finishes. The kitchen is a dream - sub-zero, large island, well-stocked, etc. The lanai

Mahalo for the review. Although Destination Residences Hawai'i does not manage the E104 unit, we are always happy to help set you up at a different residence in our collection next year.

F-9 is tired and worn and appliances need to be replaced. It is definitely not worth the fee charged and we would never rent this unit again or recommend it to anyone. The view is nice and the location good but the owner needs to put some money back into it. There is no

Mahalo for the review. Although our company does not manage the F9 unit, it is always unfortunate for us to hear that a guest had a poor experience while at Makena Surf. We do sincerely hope that you give Maui another chance, and perhaps on your next trip to Wailea, you can stay at a property that Destination Residences Hawaii manages to ensure a more pleasant stay.

A quiet, well maintained property. The condominiums are beautiful and well appointed. The herb garden is amazing. Great access to the beach and snorkeling with the Hawaiian green sea turtles. A perfect location to watch the whales breach.

Beautiful property. Have stayed here every year for many years. While housekeeping could have been a little more detail oriented, still will definitely come back. Not cheap. Office staff was very responsive and friendly.

Hi Joan -- can you tell me what unit you were in? They seem to vary quite a bit!!!

No. This is a condo complex. The pool is nice, especially for a quick dip to get rid of the sand after being on one of the two great beaches within walking distance. But no food or drink services unless you have your kids bring it down from your condo.

what is the difference between and oceanfront, deluxe, and prime room
Aloha...Makena Surf has several different categories. Ocean View are buildings A and C which are set back on the property. Buildings B, E, F, and G are at the front of the property and are considered Ocean Front. A Classic accommodation is a unit that has not been remodeled in the last five years, whereas a Deluxe unit has had recent renovations. Finally, an Ocean Front Prime unit is located on the ground floor. Thank you for your interest.

Most of the units at Makena Surf have 4 beach chairs and an umbrella inluded with the rental. They're using store and I take box just outside the units.

Is there elevator access to upper floors?
