Nestled in an enviable spot, the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort is celebrated for its modern luxury and tranquil vibe, though a few guests feel some rooms could use a refresh. The staff's warm and efficient service is a highlight, despite occasional billing hiccups. Guests love the resort's easy access to beaches and local attractions, and the amenities like the pools are generally well-regarded, even if some believe there's room for enhancement. While the rooms offer stunning ocean views and chic decor, they are sometimes criticized for being cramped and not always up to date. Cleanliness is acknowledged as a strong point, but some areas seemingly need more meticulous care. The value proposition, however, has been a point of contention, as some guests deem the costs excessive for the overall experience.

Had a great stay at the Andaz Maui. I’ve been wanting to stay here for several years and finally had the opportunity. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and helpful and check in experience was beyond satisfactory. Very clean, updated hotel. Spent most of the time in the swimming pools as The purpose of my vacation was complete relaxation. Swimming pools are lovely, great view of the ocean, and very attentive staff,. Breakfast buffet is beyond amazing and restaurant food is excellent. I will definitely want to stay here again.

The people who work there are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They love their jobs and are willing to help customers. We stay every year and love it. The breakfast is amazing. The adult pools are beautiful and the children's pool is super fun. The beach is one of the best. The sand is soft and there are no rocks on the bottom of the ocean. We could swim and also snorkel. The hotel rents snorkeling gear, which is part of the resort fee. The walks on the beach are one of our favorite. We stayed there over Christmas and the hotel organized many events both for adults and children that we loved. There are several classes that we enjoyed - hula dancing, ukulele, husking, lei making, star navigation, etc. The restaurants on the property are some of the best on Maui. We also love the Wailea are and everything is connected through the path along the beach. We cannot wait to go back!

We recently stayed here and were blown away by the place. The food on property is fantastic, including the breakfast which is insane. The buildings are situated in a way where many of the rooms have at least a partial ocean view, and the sunsets are fantastic. Rooms are big and clean. Service is top notch. Resort fee includes a lot including snorkeling, canoe, SUP, kayak, and much more. And if you are globalist, they have solid perks. The place really raises the bar. Would highly recommend.

They are also managing COVID well, and I felt safe the entire time. Hand sanitization stations everywhere, staff regular disinfecting surfaces, tables/chairs spaced appropriately, quick cleaning of pool chairs, and more.

I have stayed here twice in the past 4 years and the property is beautiful and has a great location, yet the service and staff is hit and miss, ranging from super warm and helpful, to cold and uninterested in helping.

I was paying a crazy high premium ($900/night) for a last minute booking of a standard room during high season, which get. It was a room with a partial view of the mountain side, and a direct view of a huge mud pit and construction crane. While the room was beautiful, the not so great view and loud daily noise of construction did not make this an ideal or relaxing stay. As well, with that amount of money I was paying for that type of room, you think the staff would go above and beyond to make the stay ideal....how ever they did not at all. Additionally amenities were not replaced. day to day in the room, there were no water bottles or carafe left in the room for the first two days (although they did give us self fill reusable bottles which was nice.

As well, and it's not the biggest thing, but I was not greeted as a World of Hyatt Discoverist and was not told of any bonuses or special services, even though I mentioned I was a member at check in and used my Hyatt Visa.

I inquired about switching rooms at check in were told it would be and additional $120/night, I declined, then when I called alter that evening and was told there were no rooms (but could see them available in the app and on the Hyatt site), then challenged them on this and then was told there were rooms and that they would be $200+/night extra (for the same room I was told would be $100/night extra earlier), and when I challenged them about the price they said they made a mistake and it actually was $120. This was at 7p at night, so likely no one was booking, and was shocked they would try to squeeze an additional $100/night from a loyal member at that time of day, just to make a little more money.

Beyond all this, little things like certain things not working on property, and again the vibe of some of the staff took this from what could have been a 5 star stay, to a 3 star stay.

The property is gorgeous, the beach access and pools are wonderful, some of the staff was outstanding, but overall it just lacked in too many ways for the price being paid.

We typically stay at Four Seasons when in Wailea but they were booked up for the first part of our stay so we decided to try Andaz. We leave for Four Seasons tomorrow and we can’t wait! As I am writing this review from my hotel room it’s noisy in the room above so I couldn’t nap and decided to write reviews. Must be poor construction as we have heard noises up there every night. Sounds like they are cleaning or doing maintenance right now.

The layout of the entire facility is just so so. From the lobby, to the pool area and the rooms. All just so so. Not much storage in the room for our clothes and the light switches are the hardest to find.

Pool food is just ok. How can they not have fish tacos or nachos? The hot dog I ate yesterday, because my grass fed hamburger was undercooked, was a gift that kept on giving as I burped it up all afternoon. I didn’t have to pay for anything as they took care of it. Also, the day before the Lava Flow wasn’t good at all and that is the only thing I drink. I only had a few sips and left the rest. Wish the server would have asked why I didn’t drink it. In fact, I ate lunch on the golf course today because I didn’t want to come back and have pool food.

Yesterday was my wife’s birthday. I ordered flowers and strawberries from the concierge the day before and asked for them to be delivered around 11 and have the room cleaned up for a nice presentation. The room wasn’t cleaned all day but the flowers and desserts arrived on time. I just felt like they did a great job collecting extra money from me but dropped the ball on cleaning the room.

Breakfast is included with our plan but we don’t usually eat breakfast. The one day that I did eat breakfast it was good. I was just freaked out that one of the cooks kept coughing and sneezing and it’s flu season.

The staff here has been very nice. I guess we are just spoiled from Four Seasons and I can’t wait to get there tomorrow and have a good Lava Flow and lunch by the pool.

If you're going to Maui, especially on the Wailea side, then it's likely you're expecting to pay a bit for your stay. The Andaz is a nice hotel but I don't think nicer than stay a Marriott or Hilton hotel. The pools are a beautiful view and most of the crow there were in the 30-40 range. The were a few kids, mostly babies, but not many.

I felt the valet staff up front were the most helpful and cordial. Most of the other staff, especially by the pool, were not very cordial. In my experience, you were lucky to see them come around oncer an hour. They wound sometimes look dead at you and not even ask you if you needed something. Though, the pool drinks weren't that great so I stuck to beer.

House keeping was seriously hit or miss. Sometimes they would clean your room late in the day at 5pm, then come around at 6pm to ask if you needed anything. My friend cut his foot bad on glass in the room and we never broke anything. FYI, the beds are more on the firm side.

With Amex platinum, you got free breakfast. around $120 value daily. It's not worth half of that but you get pretty good options. Sort of serve yourself and go sit down to eat type of atmosphere. This would be a decent place for young couples who need a quick getaway. Just don't expect a 5 star type of place.

This was a great boutique hotel in a busy area during Christmas week. We got a partial ocean view room with a king bed and we got our teenage boys their own room with 2 queen beds. Rooms were cozy and beds were comfortable. The shower had great pressure. They should consider updating the shower to have glass instead of a shower curtain to close off open area. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with made to order omelettes and lots of healthy options. The service we received at the bars, pool, and dinner at Ka'ana Kitchen was excellent. We walked down the path above the beach to check out the other resorts. Andaz had a nice feel and not as crazy busy as some of the other hotels. We did a yoga class one morning that was really nice. We had a well trained teacher. The hotel was small enough to get around very easily. I would highly recommend this hotel and we would love to return in the future!

We returned to Maui and stayed at the Andaz for half the trip. As soon as we got to the front entrance we were cordially greeted by the valet staff, and we remembered why we came back. We checked in quickly and were escorted to our ocean view room. A soon as we arrived I remembered commenting previously that the room was somewhat small but very clean and functional. Shortly after we were relaxing by the pool for a snack before dinner.

The pool area is awesome with an area for adults and one for children whichever works for you. The staff could not be more helpful in preparing your chair and providing towels and service with a smile. The beach is a short and beautiful walk away, and there is a paved walkway along the shore for a run, walk or whatever you would like.

The pool bar is a great place for a late afternoon drink as the sun sets, and the staff is very accommodating and mixing up some delicious tropical concoctions. There was live entertainment nightly that we enjoyed after dinner.

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay the entire trip here and had to stay at another hotel close by because of availability during the Christmas holiday. Staying at the other hotel just made us understand how much we loved the Andaz property and especially the staff. The Andaz is all about the guests, and they will do everything to ensure you enjoy your stay. We missed that personal treatment on the second part of our trip but returned daily to have lunch by the pool.

Although we love the Andaz Maui it's the staff that makes this hotel. Special thanks to Nani and Angel at the front desk who made us and everybody feel like we were in their living room as we enjoyed the beautiful lobby for morning coffee, or watching the daily sunset. Also special thanks to the valet and pool staff who treated us like family.

We stayed at the Andaz for 3 nights on points during part of our honeymoon. We arrived at 11am and our room was ready, which was surprising but amazing! Valet brought up our luggage which was helpful. The pool area was awesome, we loved the infinity pools and found the somewhat hidden adult pool which was also great. Most of the kids/families used the lowest pool, which was kind of nice so it felt a bit more calm at the upper pools. We could find a seat every time except our last day, but luckily the adult pool had some open. Most (if not all) of the seats around the main pools had umbrellas which was a huge plus. We do wish the adult pool had more shaded spots though. We also liked how they had special XL towels designated as chair covers. Pool bathrooms were so clean and nice.

We ate by the pool two days, and split the lobster grilled cheese both times because it was that good (maybe one of the best food items we had during our entire trip). The $19 fancy drinks were a bit pricey but that seemed to be the going rate.

Our room wasn’t as big or as functional as the rooms at the other resorts we stayed at, but was the most “sexy”. I appreciated the vanity with a chair and makeup mirror for getting ready in the bathroom. Some of the doors in the bathroom did take a bit of force to close though and were loud. I really liked the tile floors throughout the entire room, which feels cleaner/more sanitary than carpet like most hotels have. The “do not disturb” light-up button was also really cool instead of using a door hanger. Also loved the automatic window shades and the black-out option.

The staff treated us wonderfully and we got to choose a welcome gift for our honeymoon and chose a bottle of wine. We do wish there was a cheaper self-park option, but the guys at valet were always friendly and efficient. They were so organized and quick (we did call ahead for our car to avoid waiting).

Out of the three Hyatt’s we stayed at in Hawaii during our honeymoon, this one had the most “adult” and “honeymoon” feel. We also liked the Wailea area because it was less crowded than Kaanapali. Overall a great stay!

Stayed here during Xmas week. Great service from all departments, but concierge needs more training. Lack of knowledge in family activities in Maui, was given misinformation about an excursion, and didn’t have any knowledge of the hotel.
Lots of money spent in the common and public spaces but rooms are over 25 years old.
Paid rack rate during Xmas week for a well located hotel in Wailea, but felt like we were staying at a holiday inn based on the room condition. Room was still very clean, however, housekeepers were terrific.

Yes, my family used them. There are three showers and a lounge area to sit in. I believe there were lockers but I’m not certain because we did not use them. We left our luggage with the front desk.

The beach has attendants who can set you up with umbrellas. There are several pools with umbrellas for all, and they also have attendants. We didn’t have any issues at all.

The beach is resort-like with chairs, umbrellas, etc and is only a short hop from the pool area. The pool area is one of the best I've ever seen. One thing I love about this hotel and area in general is there is a lovely 1.5 mile paved beach walk that runs past all the Wailea beach hotels, with lovely ocean views along the way.
