We visited for our marriage at offsite property. We selected Andaz because I am hyatt loyal and have always wanted to try the Andaz class. The service from bellmen, restaurant staff, housekeeping was excellent. Front desk and concierge were average. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful landscapes but the property left something to be desired. The adult pool is nice and remote but does not have ocean views and has a lot of building coverage from the sun. The pools need updated and refinishing. Rooms need updating - they are small, but have outstanding views with a King Ocean View. No designated sitting or lounging space and not well suited for extended stays or stays with kids unless getting multiple rooms. Two reasons we will not be back: - We were here for our wedding day and spent a great deal of money at the resort with our wedding party. Not one thing was done from anyone at the resort to congratulate us on our marriage or perhaps help contribute to our special day. We are on a different island now for our honeymoon and the service and welcoming for this special occasion has been night and day! I am not asking for the world but when you spend a great deal of time and money at a property for a once in a lifetime event some recognition makes the visit very meaningful. - For the prices we paid we would rather stay at the Four Seasons which was a slight premium at the time or the Marriott (which is very modern and updated and was 20-25% less at this time). - The occupancy of the hotel was 25-30% at the time of stay (according to the front desk agent and restaurant staff). We asked the front desk on two occasions to request a small area anywhere in the hotel for my bride to get ready with hair and makeup perhaps an empty room, and the only option they could give us was to pay for an upgraded room for the extent of our trip. This was shocking considering the occupancy of the hotel. - Our wedding venue was 0.1 miles outside of their complimentary driver shuttle and they would not give us a ride to our venue. While I understand this, it was just the icing on the cake.

The hotel is beautiful! The staff is helpful and friendly. The pool and beach area are immaculate. Food was also great! We got a lei on the way in which was a nice touch. Try every restaurant because they are all great.

We have never before been greeted so warmly on island. It has been a month since the devastating fire. With mixed messages on social media we were initially worried to visit. However as the first few days past and the message from the people of Maui and those in tourism and government adapted we decided to come. The warm spirit of aloha was ever present and we received thanks and welcome from every spot we visited. We volunteered and donated and stayed on the south end. Maui is a magical place because of the people and the beauty of both the island and the kind hearts of the locals. The Andaz was as always exceptional and in my opinion the most wonderful spot on the island. Thank you for an exceptional stay filled with life long memories!

Prayers and thoughts goes to Lahaina and whoever is affected by the fire. We planned this trip couple months back before the fire. Struggle with what I read on media and about to cancel but after reading on Reddit by the locals, we decided to still keep our plans to go. Which is the best choice ever! Andaz has a great team of people who work there. Ruben and his team at Valet; Heather and Nani at the front desk; Dana, Emily and Yume at spa, the entire cleansing crew are amazing to work with. They truly show the Aloha Spirit and professional qualities of the hotel. Highly recommended. All the locals that we met are telling us when we go back to the mainland, please tell people don’t cancel their trip. There are many people who are not living in Lahaina but work in tourism industry are heavily impacted by the mess cancellation that some of them got cut off from work and some shops have at Hana and Paia have to closed for the same reason. Locals says the donation is welcome but they still need the money to pay for rent, gas and medicine for the family. Please support them and still go to Maui. Make sure to remember as a tourist, you are entering to someone’s home, be respectful at all time and tip all them generous.

The Andaz differs from most of the other area resorts I have visited in that it feels cozy and intimate, but doesn't lack any amenities. The food was excellent, room service was very fast, staff were great.

Excellent service! Kind people and rooms are clean. The fire eaters were cool and the hula dancers were amazing. I love the electric black out and sheer curtains. There’s plenty of space to put up clothing and items.

One of the most beautiful properties in Maui I have visited! Multiple infinity pools with the most beautiful backdrop view of the ocean! We were traveling to Maui for our wedding and due to the fires, we had a change in our venue. We moved to Wailea to have our wedding at the Andaz, and I can truly say that I couldn't be happier with where we ended up.

Not worth the price tag. You’re better off staying at the four seasons. The hotel rooms are dark and outdated. The hallways are dark. We were double charged or charged incorrectly several times at the pool, as staff never confirmed room numbers of guests.

came here after we had to evacuate West Maui. Pros: --the overall grounds are still beautiful -- the walkway from the valet entrance, the open air lobby, the view of the pools. --breakfast buffet has great breadth and quality of offerings, the best I've seen among domestic Hyatts --the market here has genuinely high quality goods --very good family support, including real cribs and baby supplies like wipes / shampoo. --laundry room on site was really helpful and appreciated Cons: --Surprising lack of communication between this hotel and the Hyatt Regency Maui. Front desk staff were overwhelmed, and seemed understaffed in general, and in need of more support and training by management. Management itself seemed MIA. --housekeepers, food&beverage staff, market staff, valet however all gave excellent and friendly service, especially given the circumstances --room finishings are clearly dated and the standard rooms are cramped --Pool chair parking is an issue and staff did little to enforce this --value is questionable though given it's Maui, and Wailea, perhaps YMMV regardless

When companies reach out to help those affected by a crisis, those are the ones I want to promote. In this case, my family and I were in Maui for my son's wedding, and we were staying near Kaanapali. The wedding venue was just south of Lahaina, and the wedding was set for Tuesday, August 8th, the day Lahaina went up in flames and roads were closed. The bride, her family, and a few guests made it to the venue just before the roads were closed in Lahaina due to the fires. We, the groom, his brother, and his wife, were not allowed through. We had to return to our condo near Kaanapali, and obviously the wedding didn't take place. The bride, her family, and many guests, ended up having to head south to Wailea, and ended up at the beautiful Andaz resort where they had arranged many rollaway beds in the conference rooms for those escaping west Maui or those who could not return due to closed roads. Ultimately, on 8/9, they offered the bride-to-be and her family a suite of 3 bedrooms/baths for less than half of the original cost. Two days later, we were finally able to join them. The resort provided soft drinks and snacks throughout our stay until the wedding was able to take place. They were compassionate about the circumstances, and didn't focus on the bottom line. Aside from all this, the resort is incredibly beautiful, and I consider myself a 'hotel snob' as I've traveled extensively and have stayed at some beautiful resorts. I spoke with other guests who had the same experience. Thank you, Andaz! If I ever return to Maui, I will definitely return to you.
