We were supposed to stay here for 6 nights this past week. We checked out after 3 nights. The room was very small and we paid $2K/night. It’s just way too expensive for what you get. The hotel lobby, pool area, beach are all very nice. It has a more modern and hip vibe than the other hotels. But in the end I couldn’t stomach $2K/night for a small Best Western type room. We moved to a different hotel with large rooms and about $600/night cheaper.

We previously stayed in Kaanapali which is almost indistinguishable from Miami now if you ignore the mountains in the distance. We rode around the entire island and would say that the Andaz is in the most upscale-looking area we saw. The beaches in Wailea are more intimate and some resorts are situated on rocky shores, but the Andaz has a pretty, if narrow, beach that connects to others northward that you can walk. The hotel itself is big enough to offer all amenities and activities, but not giant where I would feel like a number, like the Grand Wailea or Fairmont. We had a full ocean view room which was very comfortable and quiet. Staff was invariably friendly and helpful. We would definitely return if our travels. bring us back to Maui.

This hotel was impeccably maintained and beautifully located. The staff were attentive and the lay and amenities were wonderful. Definitely get the beachfront view rooms- daily sunsets were spectacular, and you could watch the Wales in the distance.

Our family: grandparents, daughter, 2 grandchildren and one friend were at Andaz for 9 nights. We received misinformation from the hotel when booking and when there. Concierge staff was basically new and not of much help . They recommended Blue Pacific for the Road to Hana Trip. Horrible. Worst guide who gave us no information. We did get a full refund for the trip, but we lost a full day of our vacation. We were told that we could order meals from MoriMoto restaurant and eat by the pool or elsewhere at the resort. This was not true. Morimoto was not allowing take out and when we get take out, were not allowed to seat at a table at one of the restaurants on site. In fact they had a staff person and two bouncers come over and were going to remove us! Remember we had four rooms, paying huge amount of money and they could not get us restaurant reservations and when we got food could not eat on site without a disturbance. Do not pick this hotel.
