Great Location. Tiny rooms with a nice view to the ice glacier. In general good restaurant, even though we had a very tough reindeer today for dinner. Hourly shuttle from the hotel to the city, convinient if it is realy cold. Rich breakfast in the room facing the glacier.

Great place to be located when there is no ability to fly. I was grounded in Ilulissat for 3 days and placed at Hotel arctic. The room was nice, staff was very helpful and the support with driving into town and to the airport was excellent.

We stayed for a total of 6 nights at The Arctic and I was disappointed. Had expected much more of a four star hotel. First 3 night at room 302 -Kayak with partly Seaview. The hotel building is right across the view - and you look at that all the time. The room is OK - but there was only one bedlamp, the room bed was not made every day and in when I finally complained about the missing cleaning of the room, "they" said that they have not come to my room yet - at 5.p.m. Wauw - For the next period I asked for a better room and got 304 - still no good. Now two bedlamps. The final night we have booked a Umiag - and got 502 - which is on the ground floor - with people passing by just outside the room. The bathroom was new and nice. The rest of the room just like the others. Our friends had 311 - that was HUGE - with sofa group - a tray to put your shoes -very nice room- and the same price . There is a coffee tea maker in the room which is nice. Breakfast is very good with all the things You want. The room is clean and the staff friendly. Evening restaurant is BUSY and even though you are a guest You have to book a table. That evening somebody waited 1,5 hour to get there food. The best of this hotel is the free shuttle service that runs through the day, but next time I go for another place to stay.

A lovely hotel. Felt very homely. Lovely staff and very comfortable. The best hotel we stayed at in town (we stayed in two others). Good shuttle bus service to town and the airport. Very happy all round.

Nice hotel in Ilulissat. We stayed two different times in one week. The first check in was good. The 'outside' room, 809, was actually very nice and had an outdoor deck to sit. The bathroom was very nice and the beds (adjustable) afforded an excellent view outside. Our second check in was delayed. We arrived around noon and was told the room would be ready shortly. Then we were told 2pm. We were given keys around 2:45pm. Had we known, we would have gone for a walk or something. Instead we spent almost three hours hanging around the lobby. Disappointing. For all that wait, we got room, 302, had a view overlooking the roof of the hotel. Most of the view was blocked, but there was one spot where you could see the ocean. I would not recommend any room 301-308. The lobby was nice, and it was convenient to have World of Greenland desk in the lobby, since I booked most of our tours through them. They were very helpful. The restaurant was good. It has nice views. Note that they are working on the deck outside so there may be construction noise during your stay. The menu is not extensive, but there was enough to choose from. Service was slightly slow. It took about 40 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for dinner. The only real drawback is the location. While perched up high with commanding views, it's a ten minute walk into town. There is a shuttle that runs very hour, but it stops at 6pm. Since we were here in July, the sun did not set, so it would have been nice to have shuttle access to the town throughout the evening.

For the record I didn't stay here. My flight was cancelled and Air Greenland gave me lunch and dinner voucher I could use in Hotel Arctic's restaurant. Lunch was no problem but when I went to have the dinner, staff there rudely told me there was no seat available and I should come back in 2 hours. This was at 6:30pm. There were a lot of seats. Were they all reserved? I think not. I guess they didn't like this voucher customer who isn't spending money. If you don't like people like me coming then tell Air Greenland you don't want to honor the voucher. I was really offended by the staff treating me like a bum. I ended up using the voucher some place else. The hotel itself seems like the best place in the whole town, but for this experience alone I can't really recommend it.

We opted for an "outdoor room" at Hotel Arctic for a very quick overnight trip to Ilulissat from visiting Nuuk in late May. The hotel's airport shuttle worked beautifully and same for the shuttle to the center of town. The room was very comfortable with plenty of tech (bluetooth speaker in the mirror, smart glass wall can be shifted from transparent to opaque, etc.). Our room was closer to the southern end of the row of rooms, which meant the view was partially obscured by the hill--a note for those making reservations to request the north end. The access return to the hotel interior was odd--the external door at the end of the hotel wing was kept locked. In order to return to the lobby or interior, one had to go out on the road and return via the parking lot or walk down to the restaurant deck, which doesn't really have a path. I noted the locked door at the desk and was told that we could use the back freight entrance at the rear of the kitchen--another fair walk in the mud. This seems a design gap to not allow guests to access the interior of the hotel without a long walk around in the sand and gravel, particularly given Greenland's weather. The desk was well-intentioned but not necessarily what one expects of a hotel--on the walk up and down the stairs to the room, the person never offered to assist with our bags, nor did he not aspects of the room or the door lock (which must be turned vertically to lock it). Nor did he tell us the door we just exited from would be locked and we would have to find another route back inside the hotel. On a minor service note, we requested a second washcloth for our room with two people, it never arrived. The boardwalk to the view point of the water was under repairs but offered a beautiful view of the water. They have chairs with blankets on the deck outside the restaurant. Lunch was delicious and service was very good. The breakfast buffet was good, but given the 10 a.m. check-out and the end of breakfast also at 10 a.m., it meant no option to check out and enjoy breakfast without an earlier wake-up. The schedule means that guests must sit around waiting for a shuttle to the airport without much to do (when there's not time to find one's way to the Blue Trail). Hotel Arctic was a fine choice, but the service and basic details didn't win our loyalty. For our return to Ilulissat, we plan to try the Hotel Icefiord for the location--we enjoyed a fantastic dinner there during our time in Ilulissat. Maybe there will be fewer gaps in service and design.

We stayed here for 2 nights - a short weekender. The hotel is a fair distance from the Ilulissat town centre - about 20m on foot, but there are hourly shuttles between the hotel and the town centre. There are also free shuttles timed for flight arrivals and departures without need to prebook. What we find astonishing is that the hotel cannot provide us with a map of the town when we asked for one. What makes this hotel special is the location - the backdrop is a bluff overlooking Disko Bay and the many icebergs floating in it. The view is simply spectacular. Breakfast and dinner with a window table is a must. The food is astonishingly good if quite overpriced - over the two nights we had the muskox, the seafood consommé, the baked wolfish, and the snow crab, all were absolutely delightful. The rooms are clean but housekeeping made no effort to service the room later if you happen to be in your room when they come knocking. They also do not bother replenishing soap or toilet rolls if they failed to service the room - we had to ask twice and then was delivered 1 toilet roll and no soap. We gave up asking. The hotel promoted a service of checking in for our Air Greenland flight at the hotel but no one mentioned or offered it to us on check-out, even though we specifically mentioned we were on a GL flight to Kangerlussuaq.

Really bad experience. I had to move rooms as there was construction right by my room. Then the shower broke in my new room. The staff meme et at the desk was very unhelpful. He said a plumber was coming but an hour later I still couldn’t shower and I had been to the gym. I asked to Shower in another room. Finally this was arranged but the toilet was filthy. I ended up checking out early and moving hotels.
