The hardware of the hotel was fine, warm and clean rooms, with great views. However, i found the customer service lacking. Firstly, they forgot about the hotel pickup from airport even though i had emailed a few days before my trip to remind them. In the end i had to get the airport staff to call them to come get me. Also, the staff at the front desk mostly could not answer any questions asked them, including meeting point for a Disko Line explorer tour ( which is fairly basic in my opinion). In addition, when i asked about the room type i booked (standard double room stated as 1 double bed on Expedia), i was told it's always just 2 single beds joined together, and that if i want a double bed, i need to top up ( but all i wanted was the room i booked!). The front desk called the female manager in, but she was not particularly friendly nor warm either and came out with a face like i was being troublesome to ask. The only wonderful staff i met was Leva at the restaurant, who was truly competant, and explained every dish beautifully. The male server at breakfast (i forgot his name!) was also courteous and kind.

STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE Really disgusting! The bed sheet was wet. I took the sheet off and the mattress was urine soaked. Some kind of mold sliding down the bathroom wall from the ceiling to the floor, and a bugger wall next to the toilet. The manager said they couldn’t do anything about it because they are overwhelmed in the high summer season and don’t have the appropriate staff available. I left and went to Hotel Hvide Falk. When I showed them the photos I took of the mattress, mold, and bugger wall at Hotel Icefjord, they set me up in a nice room and gave me a free night.

This review is for the restaurant we dined at (we stayed at their apartments). We probably were seated at the best seats in the restaurant, magnificent views! We both ordered the 3 course meal, which isn't cheap so I was expecting the food to be exceptional...along with the service. It was not. The food came out a a very slow pace, which is OK but not if you're hungry, so bear this is mind. Each course is paired with a wine what is supposed to complement the plate. While I didn't enjoy the wine as much (not much of a wine drinker), my mum did. Though, she pointed out we didn't get the same level of service as neighbouring tables, while we were told a little bit about each wine served, we simply were poured the wine...while others were offered a taste first, before accepting the wine and the pouring of the glass. We never got refills of water either, other tables had theirs topped up, ours was simply removed and not replaced with more water. It got to the point I had to take out my own water bottle and drink it, placing it on the dining table and, still nothing. How embarrassing is that having to drink my own water having just ordered a meal for £250? They should have been very embarrassed at the sight of that. The waitress was not particularly friendly, the food was overpowering at times but overall, it was OK. The muskox and dessert was lovely. The starter was overpowering. I wouldn't go back to dine there again if given the opportunity. Prior to our evening at the restaurant, we had stopped by earlier that day after a day of exploring, we popped in to see the restaurant and use the facilities, which I didn't think would be an issue as we were still guests but in their apartments. The reception just said no, that I couldn't use their restrooms. I said we were guests in the apartments...I was thinking we are STILL guests whether or not it be in the hotel or apartments. Then she quickly changed her attitude when her colleague made a comment.

Our luxury room was ok due to the view and the balcony. However, not in relation to the price! Completely unreasonably bad wifi and completely incomprehensible that they advertise wifi! The staff at the reception were not particularly welcoming, smiling or helpful. It seemed to be late in the season and they were tired of tourists. The positive was a nice restaurant with friendly staff. We have traveled a lot everywhere, also quite a bit in Greenland, and this experience is definitely among the worst.

We had a lovely dinner here. We chose a la carte menu, pre starter and three course menu. Servings were very well composed, extremely tasting and looked beautiful on the plate. Staff were polite and very service minded, gave good advice concerning wines. We’ll come back for sure👍😊

The hotel has a super view and the restaurant is great. Drinks are expensive but the food is delicious. However, once on the terrace admiring the fantastic view, you notice the sewage pipes going straight from the toilets into the sea. Watch closely and you can count the poops. Sort of ruins your appetite. In this day and age, this is not ok! Apparently this is the way in Greenland. Get it sorted, if you want more guests. The fjord may be 800 metres deep but the human waste ruins the water by the coast. No ice-swimming.

Dear Satu A, I'm happy to see you enjoyed the view and the restaurant. We're well aware of the issue with the pipes, and we're looking to find a solution on the issue. The Sewage treatmens systems aren't up to date since Greenland isn't quite as developed as Denmark. All sorts of constructioning in Greenland is much more complicated, since you have to take the weather in to consideration. I'm sad to see you didn't go ice swimming while you were here, becuase there are plenty off spots well away from the pipes, where it is possbile to swim with the viw to icebergs

Beware that the hotel can book you in separate apartments without clearly explaining that you're on your own as far as transportation. The hotel staff is completely unhelpful. Just avoid the place. There are nicer hotels in the area. They won't drive you back and forth even to pick you up to come to their own restaurant.

The hotel is well situated, right on the water and walking distance to the center of town. You can even walk to the ice fjord. Dinners are creative and probably the best in town. Lunch is limited to 2 types of sandwiches. Rooms are simple and functional, Scandinavian style.

If you get the chance to visit the hotel, eat in the restaurant, and talk to the male blond receptionist, do yourself the favour. I highly recommend Hotel Icefiord, and the male receptionist! He is a true star, and made my stay even better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were a group of photographers on a photography tour. We were amazed of the room view and excellent food. Didn’t expect such high quality. We were spoiled with Chef’s gourmet dinners during our stay. Waking every morning and seeing the beautiful bay of Ilulissat is enchanting.
