Do not spend your money because it is not worth it. It is totally disappointing that a hotel that classifies itself as “luxury” is so far from it, even though they do charge you as if it were. The “little house” are not properly maintained: the furniture has worn and weathered fabrics from constant use, the furniture cushions are so old that they have lost their shape, the bathroom tiles dirty, the woods (there is a lot of wood inside the “little houses”) torn, unpainted. And the worst of all was the mattress, you can dismiss many things but the conditions of the mattress NO! A mattress so and so sagging, not even the cheapest hotel has ever had a mattress in such bad condition as in this hotel. Horrible! When filing the complaint, no employee showed interest or desire to improve the situation. The view is beautiful but the hotel does not have to maintain it because it is part of nature. The exquisite massages are given by a company other than the hotel staff. The restaurant's food tastes good and is also handled differently from the hotel staff.

This was so bad that I don't even know where to start. Even before our arrival date service was a disaster so everything that followed should've been expected. Service is not something they know...only one person understands what service is and that is Angel, who works in the restaurant, not the hotel. I found out that the restaurant and hotel employees are separate from each other, which sucks for the hotel since 8 of my 10 complaints are restaurant related, and they still don't care. In our 2-night stay, I was called a liar by a waiter (in front of a restaurant manager), another waiter answered "I am not the chef" justifying the slow service (saving himself, not the chef or restaurant or hotel in the process), our room service breakfast never arrived, the restaurant manager told me to not come back if I did not like the service, etc. Everyone in this hotel and restaurant justified their poor service on something else, not on them, therefore no excuses or apologies were given. Check-in was good and room delivery was good...from there on, a disaster. We stayed in the same exact villa as we did 10 months ago. During last year's visit, I made several comments of faulty hardware and plumbing fittings, and all are exactly the same plus worse. A solid bronze door knob fell on my wife's foot, and some plumbing fixtures just came apart when using. Cleanliness is terrible. But service is so bad I can't even describe it, it makes you forget the problems with the room. One employee expressed to us he was eager to go home and therefore could not drive us to our room in a downpour; my tee times were never made by the hotel (from emails as they never answered my calls for 3 days and when transferred got disconnected) so I was only able to squeeze in a late tee time after checkout, etc. etc... This is disappointing and frustrating considering the amazing property they have. We had considered it as a wedding venue but there is no way we would hold a wedding here after this experience. IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED, THEN DON'T BOOK ALL THE ROOMS. Period. Book the rooms you can handle. We understand service staff is short, but you make adjustments so your overall guest experience is not affected. Basically we are not going back until this hotel is sold or administration changed.

Beautiful place to visit. The restaurant staff was very nice. However, the food was regular. We expected to have a great Puertorrican food experience but the rice was as risotto stile. I am Puertorrican and was not well cooked also the Kan-Kan pork chop cut was all over cooked and hardly to eat. For the price charge did not delivered as expected.

Poor attitude of the employees, mostly from the restaurant. Slow service. They don’t care, they are good at justifying themselves. We were even told by the Jota’s manager not to come back if we didn’t like their service. It is a pity for such a beautiful property and great chef. They must change all of their employees except from Angel.

Royal Isabela has amazing views and a relaxed ambience, perfect for a couple’s getaway. Service was excellent! The Casita was well equipped, clean and the private pool was a plus! The view from the casita was breathtaking! We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious! Fátima was our server and she was amazing! Great customer service! Can’t wait to be back!
