We celebrated our proposal at Villa Montana. The entire team was absolutely fantastic, everyone from Yhasmina the wedding coordinator to Nahomi who dealt with our booking and our waiter, Orlando. The location is stunning and the rooms are beautiful. Cannot recommend this hotel and staff highly enough!

The place is not worth it. Once the contract is sign, they tend to ignore you. The rooms are run down, the food at the wedding was just ok but not enough . The food at the cocktail hour are a la carte and not enough. You pay by the piece. The same with the drinks throughout the bbq and wedding all by per drink. The bar bill gets enormous. They charge any where from $24 to $28 per drink. The come to you at the end of the night to sign the bar bill..the rooms are very expensive and not in good shape.. the only thing nice about the place I is the beach. Save yourself money and have a beautiful wedding a a reception hall.. we never heard the violinist playing because the DJ was playing at the same time.

The location is beautiful! It is secluded with access to the beachfront. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, have cable and wifi, and have great AC. The hotel's restaurant is beautiful, but a bit pricy. It is not a place to have all your meals. However, the hotel is 10 minutes away by car from Jobos' Beach, where you can find several restaurants to have lunch and dinner. Aguadilla is also not far away, if you need to go grocery shopping, to a pharmacy, or the mall. This being said, we only got our room cleaned once in our four days stay, and it was because I called the front desk asking them for the service. We had eaten our dinner in the room one of the evenings, and it took two phone calls to the front desk for someone to come and clean the room. Additionally, several facilities in the map are not available at the moment. The second pool is under construction, and the spa is not existent. However, you can book a massage on a secluded area on the beach. I would definitely recommended!

We stayed in a two-bedroom beach front casita that was clean, secure, cool, very well stocked and appointed. Everything worked perfectly. It was definitely a splurge for my son’s graduation but a gorgeous space. We were worried about bugs and critters but they did an excellent job of virtually eliminating that issue. The setting is stunning. Eclipse restaurant is very good (Xavier was an outstanding server) but it’s PRICEY and the only food source on the property, so you have to drive to find reasonably priced food. We also had a really nice full kitchen had we had the time to get groceries, etc. So that is an option also. Some cons - The bell staff are NASTY. We had been on the island for almost a week already and were in Isabela for my son’s party so we had three large suitcases to schlep and the bellman was totally rude and unhelpful. Such a disappointing start. If you can get your bags to your room yourself, do it and avoid feeling upset from the get-go. There are a lot of available covered and uncovered daybeds right on the beach, which was fantastic; BUT almost all were covered in bird poop and were NOT ONCE cleaned while we were there. This was a real let down and totally gross. Fortunately, we brought a large beach blanket that covered the beds but yuk! They should be stripped and washed every day. They do not clean rooms each day or even every other day. We were there three days so it wasn’t a big deal but having the trash emptied and beach towels restocked would have been nice. Beach is wonderfully walkable but only swimmable in one tiny area. Lots of rocks, small barnacles and sea urchins. There is one good put-in by the restaurant can be rippy and wavy at times. One of the pools was totally sit down for construction and so the only pool was a small one by the restaurant. That was disappointing. Would we come back? Understanding these cons in advance to plan and manage expectations- I think so.

We had a wonderful experience working with Yhasmina, Priscilla, and the crew at Villa Montaña. They were responsive, attentive, and flexible to last minute changes. We held a welcome dinner with a pig roast and a bonfire, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and an after party with late night snacks and sparklers. I highly recommend splurging for these additions because they truly made for a magical and memorable time. Also, DJ Joe Almeda did a fantastic job achieiving our vision for the music selection. Our guests had a fantastic time and several commented that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. We are very happy that we selected Villa Montaña for our destination wedding venue.

The review is poor for several reasons which I explain in detail if you care to read. It began with our reservation in 2020, we were unable to come because of COVID-19, in spite of many attempts the resort was unable to refund our money, it is very challenging to get anyone on the phone in this resort. Sometimes we even just got hung up on. We essentially never got a callback from them. Very unprofessional and unreliable management in my mind. Finally we made the trip two years later so we don’t just give up our money, we were placed in a room that does not deserve the description hotel room, and is far from a room in a beach resort that you would expect, or how it is portrayed on the pictures on the website. The room was small, there was a adjoining door to the next-door neighbors, where you could hear everything, even a needle drop. Everything just looks cheap and unkempt. The walls are dirty, there’s nothing in the room, no pictures, not even a welcoming plain water bottle. The whole establishment looks like it was built cheaply and has not been kept up. The main pool is not open, is under construction, the gym is small and has no cardiac workout equipment at all. So we demanded to be placed in a different room, after much back-and-forth we were placed in a room that was somewhat more adequate, although further away from the beach. There is no daily room service, you have to ask to get the room cleaned. The landscaping is barely kept up. It is also not made clear on the website that this resort is basically a mixed business with units that are owned and units that are rented out. So it really is more of a timeshare type feral and deal . The restaurant Eclipse is overall good, fairly pricey and as a couple they would always seat us in the back of the restaurant somewhere on a smaller table, where you really would like to sit next to the beach and enjoy your view. The staff is not very friendly or welcoming, you always feel like you are a inconvenience or burden. For the price that is being charged or for the advertised feel of a good atmosphere, that is unacceptable. I could see that the resort was overall suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of customers, but then you would expect that they would go out of their way to make your stay as good as possible. That was unfortunately not the case. The beach in front of the resort is nice but hard to get into because of rocks right at the entry. There are no beach chairs/lounges offered. There are a few cabanas available, but likely difficult to obtain during a busy season. It was not busy when we were there. It looks like the main effort is put on the restaurant which is a nice venture all together, food is decent, still overpriced. We will not be back primarily because of the unwelcoming feel it has and the rooms that are not adequate for the price that is being charged.

Where do I start... my husband and I are both travel nurses and when we got married during the pandemic our honeymoon got cancelled, this was a redo honeymoon and birthday trip. We checked in on Monday and we're in villa 5143, it's quite a walk from the ocean and restaurant and amenities at the resort. The zen pool was closed for maintenance so the only pool opened was the tiny one by the restaurant. We got a villa at a resort instead of a hotel room at any old place because we wanted the amenities and a kitchen so we didn't eat out for every meal. On Wednesday evening around 7pm the power went out, my hubs and I just went to bed because we wanted to get up early to surf and figured it'd be back on in the morning, it wasn't on by 10am the next morning so we went and spoke with the front desk, who mind you had air conditioning and running water and full power, apparently some of the villas have backup generators but ours didn't. They said they could move us to another villa but itll have be around 3pm, so now 36 hrs without power, my husband and I can't flush the toilet that has pee and poop in it from 36 hrs of no running water, have no drinking water or ac and they offered us a $12 gift certificate for water at the restaurant, we had bought groceries that all went bad in the refrigerator as well. They moved us to an oceanfront 2 bed 2 bath villa, the one nice one that's pictured on the website, with a private pool. There was a hitch though, we could only stay in this one until Thursday and check out Saturday before noon and move to another villa bc this one was rebooked. We had no choice. The oceanfront villa shared a generator with the people next to us who had just checked in and the front desk did not tell them we were on a generator and that they couldn't use hot water, microwave, etc, just the basics. So the people next door kept tripping our generator. Saturday came around and we were moved back to our original villa in the very back of the resort. So every 2 days we had to move rooms. We finally checked out Monday at 11 and they basically did nothing to accommodate our horrible vacation, it was stressful and not relaxing at all, I booked this villa because of the amenities and kitchen space and close to surfing beaches, my husband and I every time we went to pick up different keys we complained and requested some sort of refund or discount for our horrendous week, not once did any manager come up and talk to us, apologize for all the hassle we went through. We got 12% our stay, they compensated $69 of a $200 grocery trip. Mind you we had to spend way more money than we wanted to eating out because none of the kitchen appliances worked Wednesday- Friday because of the power outages. The front desk just blamed it on the island and offered no compensation for our struggles. We paid a lot for this trip but apparently not enough to get a generator to our original villa, and no one cares, we had to figure it out. No one cared that for 36 hours we had no drinking water and had to continue peeing and pooping in a toilet that wouldn't flush. Also there was no wifi or television that worked Wednesday-Sunday. If you get stuck staying in building E4 be prepared for constant construction on the building around you. The living conditions we were stuck in were a major health code violation. Don't waste your money, stay at the caribe Hilton in San Juan, we stayed there Monday night before we flew out and it was the best part of our trip, getting out of villa Montana hell!

We stayed for three nights and overall really enjoyed our time. However, I was a little disappointed to find out that the property is not actually all the hotel, but rather a neighborhood/gated community of vacation properties/second homes. The hotel seems to operate within that community, operating some of the condos/properties/rooms as hotel rooms. Other units are owned/occupied by their owners and are effectively NOT part of the hotel. As a result, the vibe is kind of weird - not everyone you encounter is a guest of the hotel, some are people who just own their condo and either visit regularly or live there. Because of that, some of the places you encounter look more like someone's house - kid's bikes and toys strewn across the yard or walking path, dogs off leash and pooping in what's supposed to be the "pristine" lawns, etc. Also, and perhaps most annoying, the unit above ours was being renovated while we were there. I had a single work call during the week that I had to take from the unit, and it just so happened that they were using very loud power tools above our place during that call. That was really frustrating! If I'd known about the work going on (and that the hotel property is not actually all hotel), I'd have likely been fine with it. The fact that it felt like it was hidden from me when booking, and only revealed once I arrived, is what annoyed me a bit.

The property is beautiful, the food and cocktails at the Eclipse were well thought out and prepared perfectly. The bummer and reason for the poor review is that the unit we stayed in was not a resort room or a hotel room. It was a bedroom of a condo with a locked door that separates the front half of the unit. Our entrance was the slider on the back patio. I would not have stayed or paid for the room if superior unit remotely described the actual lockout. On the other side our friends booked an upstairs unit which was 1800sqft. I am 100% certain their review will be the opposite of ours. It did not feel like a resort. I felt like we were staying in someone’s basement. Minimal toiletries, clogged sink. I never write bad reviews but I was very disappointed with this place. The property is huge and it was 2 blocks to the beach. I only gave it 2 stars because the bed was super comfortable and the restaurant is gorgeous. We had a great (but very expensive) breakfast, and their pizzas were awesome. Also, the gym is not “fully equipped”. There is no cardio equipment, and only a few free weights. I would definitely eat here again, but I would never recommend staying here.
