Driving through Mississippi all my wife wanted was to see an old plantation. We spend the night here. The room was nice. The plantation was beautiful. It was expensive though. It is not something I would do again but was a cool experience once.

Been trying to book here for a few years. Now we know why it's always full. Great accommodations for couples, especially. The rooms are all decorated to period and are well equipped. The grounds are absolutely immaculate and well cared for. Food was great and staff friendly and helpful.

Place is nestled just outside the city center but perfectly located on 25 acres of well maintained historic grounds... stayed in one of the cottages and had an excellent time relaxing and enjoying the place... people were super friendly and accommodating... perfect place to stay for our first visit to the Natchez area!

My wife and I had our wedding at Monmouth 25 years ago, so for this big anniversary year we decided to go back for a weekend stay. I got the Anniversary Getaway package and upgraded to a king suite. The room was beautiful. It was in a separate building from the main house, which I recommend for a couple trying to get away from it all and spend time together. Between the amenities of the room and the extra special touches that were included in the package, we definitely felt spoiled in luxury. Breakfast was excellent, and our dinner at Restaurant 1818 was absolutely perfect. We made a point to speak to the chef to let her know. All the staff members we met were personable and helpful; we really felt like they cared that we had a wonderful stay. It’s difficult to convey how amazing our weekend stay was by simply listing features and amenities. My wife and I were able to rest and reconnect at Monmouth in ways that I don’t think would be possible in any other Hotel or B&B. The secluded location of our room, the amazing meals on site, and the beautiful grounds where we were able to stroll and explore, rock on a porch, or sit and look out over the pond and talk for a while were all part of an experience that can’t be summed up in a list. We will always treasure our memories of that perfect weekend.

This is a beautiful old plantation. The gardens are very nice, although we missed the azalea season. The historic rooms are well maintained, and the main house is a glimpse into the past. The personnel are spectacular: gracious, lively and efficient. Like all restaurants in the COVID constraints, they aren’t at their best. Hope they can get back up to speed soon. It’s a lovely destination.
