The main house was a little bit creepy. Very close to being cute, but everything looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint. Ice bucket but no ice, no microwave, and overgrown gardens. Excellent view of the Mississippi, good location close to town but not in town. Owners are in the process of restoring and could improve soon.

We stayed at the Briars over Mothers Day and enjoyed it tremendously. The staff was so accommodating and the grounds were beautiful. The view of the Mississippi from the lookout area was beautiful at sunset. Definitely a place to stay.

We stayed in the River View room and the view is great. We stayed four nights, had wonderful breakfasts (the eggs are wonderful), the staff were very friendly and treat you like family. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. Would stay again in a heart beat. The people of Natchez were all welcoming and just down home good people.... More

This was the perfect place for our anniversary trip. It is quaint and still in the 1800 time period. Nestled on top of a hill overlooking the river. It needs a little updating but when I come back, we will stay here. Very quiet. Ms Glenda is awesome! The breakfast is delicious. Best grits I've ever tasted and I'm from... More

We stayed here as a group on tour so we had the whole of the house to ourselves - what a find. The house was enormous with huge bedrooms - ours had two bathrooms and a bedroom that was very large and overlooking the front of the house to the garden. The facilities were good , although I felt was... More

We stayed In the Carriage House at the Briar’s on May 19 and 20th. While in the past this was likely a lovely place, it needs Maintenance with a capital M. Everywhere you look there are things that need to be repaired – in our room there was collapsing plaster above the tub, and a bad fluorescent light in the... More

We stayed at the Briars over Mother's Day weekend and had the entire plantation to ourselves! The views of the Mississippi were breathtaking and the grounds were so much fun to walk around. Mr. Leon was very accommodating and full of information. One of the best parts was Ms. Glenda who cooked our breakfast in the morning. She was a... More

My husband and I chose Natchez as a weekend getaway because it was close (5 hours from home, Memphis) and we had never been. I found the Briars online. The pictures looked nice and the rates were reasonable. The location is fantastic, overlooking the Mississippi River at the bridge to Louisiana. We were in suite 14. It was not really... More

80 years ago the Briars B&B must have been spectacular. Now...not so much. No lights at night to show us the way to the room. The heater fan in the bathroom was so powerful it nearly sucked the luggage out of the room. When turned off we froze. I guess we just like modern facilities; heat light and toilet paper.... More

I am very sorry that you were not pleased with your stay here at The Briars. I have tried to look up your reservation to determine which room you were in so I could have the bathroom exhaust fan repaired, check on the lighting and the heater to ensure everything is in working order. If you could please give me... More
