Jackie gave us a warm welcome and showed us around explaining all the details in the room. We both had bikes. She was very accomodating and showed us where we could store them in her basement around the back. Very secure. Bringing them into the room itself could easily have damaged the decor and made it quite cramped. Easy walk to town.

If you are looking for an elegant and charming place to stay while visiting Nachez, look no further! The cottage is semi-detached from the home, making it private and perfect for a weekend get-a-way for couples. Jackie and Joe are gracious hosts. They make the best breakfasts! We will certainly be back for another weekend.

A really fantastic place to stay. We took a couple of nights break here on our trip down the Great River Road. The cottage is delightful. Very self contained with everything you could want. The small room off the bathroom was great to be able to put the suitcases out of sight for two nights! The streets around are filled with antebellum houses and it is a shirt walk not town to eat. The owners are very helpful, the cottage is beautifully kept, and their guest book is packed with wholly positive comments from previous guests.

We lost $175 because the owner’s cell phone had gone dead!

The day before we were to arrive, the owner sent us an email confirming our stay and we replied that we would arrive about 4pm. Along the road, we sent her another email saying when we would arrive. We followed that up with a call to her and left a message.
When we arrived around 4pm, no one was home. We called her and left another message plus sent another email saying we were at the house. We waited 30 minutes, called and left another message. We drove by several times and never saw a new car in the parking slot. Finally, we went to eat. We called her again and left another message. About 6:30 we decided to look for another place to stay and made a reservation at a hotel. In all, we emailed her three times and called her six times.
Finally at 7:15 she called us and said she was home. She said her cell phone had gone dead so she did not receive our calls or emails. She never offered to give us a refund or any money back. In fact, she screamed at us saying it was our choice to leave.
We would not recommend staying here.

My husband & I booked 2 nights midweek at this B&B & were thoroughly disappointed, not only with the standard of the accommodation but also with the response of the owner when I mentioned a couple of concerns I had.
As per their website, this place has a late check in (5pm) we arrived at 3 & called to see if we could get in early. As that was not possible, we took the opportunity to drive to the down town area & we checked out the couple of stores that were open.
We checked into the annex room located to the side of the main house & we were told that a continental breakfast was laid out for the following morning & a hot breakfast would be served to us on the morning of our checkout.
Continental breakfast consisted of an individual box of Cheerios a shop bought muffin wrapped in cling film & a banana- it was non descript & as stated on their website.
There was an annex room to the side of the bathroom which was handy to keep our cases in. The bathroom was functional.
The room rate that we paid was supposed to include free wifi. THERE WAS NO WIFI AVAILABLE.
The website clearly states that 'Upon your arrival, you will find homemade Southern pecan pralines'. THERE WERE NO PRALINES.
The bed is very uncomfortable & sleep escaped us due to the very noisy, yappy dog that barked fairly consistently for the eintire 2 nights.
There is a book of positive reviews left in the room although I could not find any current reviews.
Our room was not attended to during our stay & I had to call to get more coffee which was fine.
On our second night the happy dog was worse.
Warm southern breakfast was fine, hash browns & some sort of sausage bread.
Rather than write a bad public review, I decided to leave the owner a note, outlining my disappointment with our stay which I felt was not good value. We did not get all of the things we had pre paid for.
We locked up the room & left the key in the designated space.
I received a voicemail from the owner later that day & I was absolutely shocked when I listened to it.
The voicemail in its entirety has been sent to the Natchez tourist board & the local newspaper, I will figure out how to post it here later.
I was accused of being a tightwad for not purchasing 'the proper equipment for my laptop before I left for my trip'. I HAD BOOKED THIS PLACE SPECIFICALLY FOR ITS PROMISED WIFI.
Jackie also said 'It's people like you that give your people a bad name'. GOOD TO SEE RACISM ALIVE & WELL IN THE SOUTH!
Jackie said 'You shouldn't be such a cheapskate'. $169 PER NIGHT, LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I EXPECT TO GET WHAT I PAID FOR.
I have already posted some photo's & I have more to post. I really expected/hoped that Jackie had been calling me to apologize for not providing what I had purchased, however she took the opportunity to rant & rage which is clearly very unprofessional. She did also say in the voicemail that she was calling the cops on the yappy dog.
Good luck to anyone who has already booked this place. I am still hopeful of a simple apology but am realistically expecting a reply similar to the voicemail that was left.
In this day an age, with the world literally at our fingertips, it astounds me that businesses do not care about simple customer service!

These folks tell you all about their amenities but do not warn you about their dog and its pals. I was awakened early in the morning by the dog's almost continual barking. When I tried to speak to the owners, there was no one in the house. My travel phone did not work in Natchez, so I left a note and left. The owners charged me for the whole 3 days, which they are legally entitled to, but it leaves a bad taste with me to be greeted with no compassion.

I am happy to say that I have been running my B&B for over 10 years and have never had one person complain about a dog barking! I am not really sure what the guest is referring to. We do have a dog that stays in the house with us but does not bark at night nor does it disturb us or our guest. If it did, it would not be living at our home very long. I do remember the very day the guest is referring to and we were not awaken by our dog or any neighborhood dog! I really wish the guest would have waited until I arrived back at home which was only a few hours after 8:00a.m. to discuss this problem instead of choosing to exercise an early check-out. I really wish the guest would have called me as he did the day before with questions about his stay or asked to borrow the phone at the small convenience store just 5 doors down the street. Instead, I found my house key stuck inside my screen door with a note complaining about a dog barking! I really wish the guest would talked to me while he was staying in the cottage about the noise he said he heard so I could have taken care of the noise instead of his choice of making a quick exit. If the guest had discussed his problem with me and if could have reached a solution then, I would have most definetly given the guest some type of refund even though my policy states on my website the there is no refund for early check-out and the cancellation policy is, a guest must cancel his reservations 5 days before arrival day. I am really sad that the guest felt he must take that type of action instead of merely knocking on my door or calling me on my cell phone for help. I always tell my guest, if they have any problem or need to merely knock on my door or call. Most guest never have had a problem doing this nor does my repeated business have a problem calling or knocking for my help.

We had a totally enjoyable stay in the Magnolia Cottage. It was very cozy, bed amazingly comfortable, and breakfast served to our room Our hostess was most gracious. Enjoyed the sitting area of the cottage, as well. Able to walk into town very easily and up to the corner for burgers and shakes.

Accommodations were wonderful! Very relaxing and Jackie and Joe were great. Enjoyed visiting with them and breakfast was delicious. When we were told breakfast would be served it was served! I felt like I was back in the old south. Wish we could have stayed longer! Boo S.

We stayed one night in this quaint cottage. The room was large with space for a small dining table and sofa. Everything was spotless and clean. Our breakfast was served in our room (our choice) and it was delicious! The location is very convenient. Jackie and Joe were wonderful hosts and we hope to visit again when we have more time. Thank you!
