My husband and I stayed in Magnolia Cottage Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights to attend a wedding in Natchez MS. Although I felt the pictures and description did not adequately describe this B&B, after our stay, I was very happy with our decision. This accomodations was large 2 rooms off of a private bungalow. The 2 rooms are large enough for table, small refrigerator and coffee station, queen sized bed, small sitting area with small couch, TV and writing desk, separate bathroom with tub/shower combination and large closet for luggage. The bed was high but very comfortable. The owner had a lot of amenities in the bathroom and the climate control was first rate. AC and heat were both used and appreciated! The hot breakfast, delivered at 8:30 AM, was very good-varied with an egg dish, meat, carb (grits or biscuits during our visit), orange juice and a fruit. The room had a tea and coffee making station. Although we were not in Natchez for tourist viewing, the little writing desk and magazine holder in the accomodation held lots lots of brochures and information on things to do and where to eat in Natchez. I would highly recommend Magnolia Cottage Bed and breakfast.…
My husband and I wanted to travel to Natchez for our anniversary and chose to stay in Magnolia Cottage. The cottage was very quaint and clean and even had my favorite soaps! The hostess, Jackie was very gracious and a great cook! The location is very convenient to downtown Natchez. We will definitely be returning!
We lost $175 because the owner’s cell phone had gone dead! The day before we were to arrive, the owner sent us an email confirming our stay and we replied that we would arrive about 4pm. Along the road, we sent her another email saying when we would arrive. We followed that up with a call to her and left a message. When we arrived around 4pm, no one was home. We called her and left another message plus sent another email saying we were at the house. We waited 30 minutes, called and left another message. We drove by several times and never saw a new car in the parking slot. Finally, we went to eat. We called her again and left another message. About 6:30 we decided to look for another place to stay and made a reservation at a hotel. In all, we emailed her three times and called her six times. Finally at 7:15 she called us and said she was home. She said her cell phone had gone dead so she did not receive our calls or emails. She never offered to give us a refund or any money back. In fact, she screamed at us saying it was our choice to leave. We would not recommend staying here.…
Wonderful southern hospitality and attention to detail. This Natchez cottage is in a central location and has beautiful linens, china and antique furnishings. The bed was comfortable with butter soft sheets and was crystal clean! The breakfast was delicious and included homemade strawberry scones. I will DEFINITELY be returning!
