This is the most fantastic B&B I've stayed in. Durrell, the owner, has a terrific personality. You won't beat the furnishings anywhere. The view of the Mississippi River can't be beat especially when sitting on the porch with a glass or two of wine, provided by Durrell, watching the sun go down and the lights on the bridge come on.... Odds are if you are a tourist, you come to Natchez, Mississippi, in search of history. Natchez is not the easiest place to get to in Mississippi, stuck away in a somewhat remote corner of the state along the mighty Mississippi River, just north of New Orleans where the River exits to the Gulf. History seeps from the sidewalks in... More

Spent two nights at Riverside with my wife at this lovely home on the bluff. I wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodations were excellent the host, Durrell was attentive and paid the utmost attention to every detail to ensure that our stay was better-than-expected. I would recommend this property to anyone who is going to stay in the... More

Old home, filled with Victorian (?) furniture, antiques and mementoes of years past. The host, Durell, will keep you entertained with stories and facts about the area and history, as well as his own colorful past. The view of the Mississippi from the front porch and balcony was impressive.

Riverside offered everything I looked for in a B&B - historic home; lovely period furnishings, especially in bedrooms; peaceful balcony to enjoy the glorious view of the MS River; congenial host with tips for local restaurants and attractions; delicious Southern breakfast served on real crystal and china. Altogether a jewel of a B&B.

Best view on the bluff. Beautiful flower gardens and landscaping. We enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the river drinking his special blend of coffee which we loved! Inside the historical home, it was decorated according to the period of the home with lots of antiques. It was a dream come true to stay in this home. In the past-... More

Durrell is in a league by himself. My second visit, not my last, and again wasn't disappointed. I had my list of restaurants and his suggestions matched mine. He even took care of the reservations. I mean how much can the guy do for you?? 2 couples had the upstairs complete with views of the Mississippi, private parlor, coffee by... More

As everyone else says, Durrell is a friendly and informative host. He even knew opera singers when I told him I sang opera. Not many people are into the "opera world". He had interesting stories to tell. We would have loved coffee on the porch, but was not offered any beverage other than water. Early the next morning there was... More

We spent a wonderful two days in Natchez. The town is full of charm and history, but the highlight was spending time with the owner, Durrell. What a wonderful man to visit with. Our only regret was that we had to leave and proceed on with our trip. It is highly recommended that you get a the chance to stay... More

Not long after my wife and I met we stayed here for a long weekend. Durrell met us and greeted us with a decanter of wine. Stated no one was staying next door so we had our choice of two of connected rooms. PLENTY of space. Beautiful place...impeccably decorated. I join the chorus on what others have said about his...
