Beautifully maintained piece of history. Owner and staff friendly and knowledgable, the tour is a must do. Rooms spacious, clean and very comfortable and although period, all the facilities have been modernised. Tea and coffee available 24 hours and breakfast is excellent. You will need to bring or go out for other meals. The grounds are extensive and peaceful. About 10 minute drive from Natchez it is a great location to explore this area. Do take notice of the directions given by the owner before arrival, as navigation systems are not reliable about the entrance, and you will have no problem. We only had one night and wished we had planned for more, a great experience.

We had the opportunity to spend one night here and it was magical, like going into a time machine back to the pre-civil war days. The house is beautiful and authentic, the host Kaiser gracious. The woods surrounding the very green property are so dense they create a profound silence, excepting the local symphony of insects. There are MANY butterflies of every description and strangely no mosquitoes (it was July).
Our room was pristine and everything worked. My wife did the tour of the house (I think there are seven unique rooms in the main building) and enjoyed herself.
The only issue is food. Aside from some saran-wrapped muffins and orange/apples there is nothing. The nearest food is in Natchez, which is a twenty minute drive and it is problematic as to what is open. The host does provide a map of restaurants which was super helpful, so as long as you are aware of this issue ahead of time you can plan around it.
If you are in need of a serious retreat, silence, nature and the ooze of history, Brandon Hall is highly recommended.

My family and I were driving from Colorado to Florida. I decided on this last night that I wanted to stay in a place that was out of the norm. There are a couple of things that I had in mind. The top priority was history, a beautiful setting, comfort, and a hot breakfast. Brandon Hall ticks off most of those boxes!
Natchez Trace was the entryway to this old plantation. After winding down a mysterious, wooded driveway and entering the gate, one can see that they are not simply staying in a cookie-cutter hotel. The home is honestly a museum and staying in a museum at 200 bucks for three people is wonderful! One can explore the grounds and sort of poke around the house. There is no innkeeper though. Found this to be inconvenient because a host is important. I like someone to ask about local restaurants, things to do, maybe point me to where the cemetery was on the property. I’d like Someone that could give me some history of the property! I know there’s more to Brandonhall than the veranda. I would like to know history of the poor slaves that built the place, Natchez trace, any tales from the family that owned it….
The room we slept in was gorgeous. I didn’t really sleep though. The bed was so soft that my husband and I sunk to the middle of it. I don’t know if it’s the way the bedframe is constructed or if the mattress is old or too soft but I would suggest perhaps firmer mattresses or a center brace in the frame. If you are like me, that made for a particularly brutal evening.
I’ve stayed in B&Bs and breakfast is always part of the deal -a hot and interesting breakfast that one sits at a table for wondering what delights will be presented. Due to Covid, this apparently is not the case anymore. However, Covid has mostly subsided so it would be nice to have some of this option return. I noticed that other inns have vouchers for breakfast. All of that said, the muffins and fruit and water bottles were filling enough.
Segueing off the voucher idea, If one were to pay a little bit more, It would be a nice touch to offer a package to take a ride on the horse drawn carriage tour in town. Alliances with local businesses and touring could present a lovely evening out or brunch for guests for an additional cost per person.
I saw where another reviewer mentioned that the place is for sale so I suspect my suggestions will fall on deaf ears. However, if the owners of this place end up keeping it going, I think that these suggestions will help for return customers. I loved it but I saw where there are other places in town, roughly the same price with the ideas I mentioned. Be competitive!

The location is great, the property is secluded and very peaceful and quiet. We stayed in the carpenter's cottage for two nights, which was well appointed. The mattress was to soft for our liking. The unit has a washer and dryer, however, no detergent is provided. We arrived on a Monday night and was met by Jennifer, who showed us around. Hardly any restaurants are open in Natchez on Monday evenings, so our dinner at Subway was disappointing. Breakfast consisted of two muffins, two bananas, two apples, and two bottles of water. We felt that there could have been more effort put into the breakfast offerings. There was one other couple staying in the other cottage for one night of our two night stay. The normal breakfast could have been provided with plenty of social distancing.
We booked this property for the bed and breakfast experience and felt that our stay was over priced considering the lack of the normal breakfast. We feel that the owners could focus more on the details, advising guests of detailed directions to the property, recommendations on restaurants, and spend additional time interacting with your guests. We have the impression that they focus on weddings, and little effort is put forth and the bed and breakfast side.

The room was beautiful and the home is stunning. However, the hot water in the shower cut off during my shower. When I called for help with the hot water I was told that had never happened before and I should wait for 5-10min to see if it got better "other people may be showering now too." I don't know about most people, but I don't think a fully renovated bed and breakfast hotel should not be able to accommodate more than one or two showers at a time.
The wifi was another big issue. I tested it in the evening and in the morning because I was unable to check my emails. The speed tests showed that the download was under 3mbps. In today's world, that is equivalent of having no internet at all.
The bottom floor was beautiful but was also roped off as a museum so you could not actually enjoy the home, only look into the rooms from afar.
All in all, I would recommend it for a wedding venue but not for a weekend get-away.

Advertised as breakfast in room -Voucher left for cafe 15 mins drive away -and ended up still paying towards cost as cafe argued value of voucher -not nice !
No milk or bottle water in rooms or bar area , since location is rural it would have been nice to learn of both these things in advance .
We had been told tours of house but no such thing , staff very friendly but had no idea of the history .
A beautiful house but could have had a better more comfortable stay .
Natchez is a beautiful town and we would have found better hospitality in a hotel nearer to the town .
It’s a shame as we were with returning guests who were equally disappointed .

This place is very clean and immaculate. Very nice place. My husband and I stayed in the carpenter cottage and it has a nice porch to enjoy and a small kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and small coffee maker. The bathroom has a large shower and big tub and a double sink.
Nice area to walk around and enjoy the pond and its serene quiet.
The owners are very hands off, and you may never see them. No information about the history of the house is available that I saw anywhere. I had to look online to get history. Since I was there on a Sunday, there was no tour and just walked around the house and inside to see the furnishings on my own. It is a beautiful place.
The continental breakfast is a basket with two waters, fruit and muffins. So my husband said it should be a Bed and Basket instead of a Bed and Breakfast. We had a big breakfast at the last Bed and Breakfast so this was very funny for us.
We had a great stay and would stay here again as it is beautiful and well maintained.

This beautiful restored plantation is an inconvenient 9 miles from historic downtown Natchez. Restaurants are far away, so guests must drive a lot for lunch and dinner. Staying here is like living in an unfriendly empty museum. The advertised full Southern breakfast was replaced with a basket of 2 old dry Clementine oranges, 2 bananas, 2 stale poor quality plastic wrapped muffins, and 2 Granny Smith apples (better for pies than eating). The owners, who live in the house, never appeared to greet us and we found the place cold and unfriendly. The public rooms on the main floor were roped off like a museum, adding to the unwelcoming feel. Our experience here was so disappointing that we left early.

First, let me say the property is beautiful, house and surrounding grounds. My husband and I walked around the grounds one day-just beautiful. We spent some time on the upstairs balcony in the rocking chairs, too. Just lovely. The room we had was very large with the extremely high celings. The bathroom was very clean and they have some of the softest towels I have found in our travels. I am glad I had some extra soap in my luggage as there was only 1 very small bar in the bath. The rooms don't have their own thermostat though. A couple of nights I was a little warm but when I walked out in the hall the next morning it was very cool. The bed was lacking. I like soft beds and this one was very soft and my first thought was it would be perfect. However, it sagged a lot in the middle making it very uncomfortable. The next thing is there is no breakfast which is one of the main reasons we like to stay in B&Bs while traveling. All there was was a basket with a few pieces of fruit and a muffin wrapped in plastic wrap. I have had better snacks in an airbnb. I know some have mentioned Covid but in Mississippi and most every other place restrictions have been lifted. To use Covid as a reason now is only an excuse to not cook breakfast. We were there for 3 nights and on 2 of those days they hosted a buffet luncheon and a seated dinner. So, no, Covid is not the reason we didn't have breakfast. We were there for the pilgrimage and found out only by accident Brandon Hall was on the list as no one at the B&B told us and no one would tell us about the plantation except for one of the docents who was there after her tour who interpreted her 2 rooms for us. There is no host to speak of either. We saw and talked to one person twice and only after asking if he was the owner did we find out he was. Still don't know his name. The property is for sale and maybe that is why things are the way they are. The listing says they have a commercial kitchen so they have the capability of preparing breakfast. It's really too bad. It would be a fantastic place to come back to but we won't because of the problems listed above.

Brandon hall is a pretty place. You feel like you are on a plantation in the 1800’s. Check in is non existent, you are given a code to your room and you don’t see anyone. You are then slipped a coupon for a restaurant in town to go get breakfast, ( not very well explained in advance) at least on the website where I booked. While you are there you can peek in the downstairs rooms but no your! It’s on your own, also not explained on the website where I booked! No pamphlets on the room or anywhere I could find explaining the house or property.(I happened to run into someone who seemed like they work there who went in and found a pamphlet about the family Cemetery nearby. We did read about that on the website! Of O was here by myself, I definitely would not like it! There needs to be more instructions online or before check-in, better if you can get a pamphlet about the house and grounds/family history!! Didn’t see any in town either!! Room was great but, probably would no go back.
