When we first arrived we had a little mishap with our room/reservation. The new manager (I apologize but can't remember name) was very very accomodating. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We had dinner and breakfast at the Piolt House and it was delicous! Best crabcake I have had. We had to wait a bit on the breakfast but it was good too. It was enjoyable just to sit there and look out at river. We will stay again.

The room I was in with my family has a broken a/c. The bathroom floor was wet when we got there and the hot tub they are supposed to have is broken. I went to the front desk to let them know because the phone in the room doesn’t work either. GO FIGURE. The lady at the front said she couldn’t do anything I had to speak to the manager when she got in at 8 am. I called from my cell at 8:15 she wasn’t there. I booked through Amex Travel, they called on my behalf at 8:30 and again at 9:15, the manager who was due at 8, still wasn’t in. We just gathered our belongings and left tired, hot, and disappointed at this point. Safe to say I won’t be returning. The lack of maintenance, the lack of empathy, and the fact that no one can do anything without the manger who isn’t on duty or on call when they should be is already enough, but that hot, wet, musty room gave me the impression that this is the way they run this entire place and I don’t need to see more. Attached a pic of the a/c on 60, high and cool tht doesn’t work.

Ok well to be fair, it has a view, just not from our room. Our room got a wall with a plant. (See photo). It also has a tastefully done junk closet that we see every time we step out of our room because that door is never shut. (See photo). The next astounding vue came when I seated myself upon the toilet. The detailed craftsmanship on the bathroom sink rivals anything my kids ever glued together in kindergarten that made it long enough to bring home and hang on the fridge. (Again, see photo below). Lucky for us, we booked two nights, so we will get another opportunity to eat breakfast in the lovely pilot house restaurant! I thought low-budget hotels were the only ones that served bad rehydrated scrambled eggs and boiled sausage. Nope! Turns out that here, you can get a perfectly formed ball of scrambled eggs with, amazingly, less flavor than their competitors. Because we are clearly sadistic, we opted to also redeem our gifted meal at the Pilot House this evening. Oh my. My husband and I toasted, “good luck” and tentatively poked at the food. It was really really dead. Like really dead. Photo included below. I didn’t have the heart to photo my steak. I think it was even embarrassed to be served. What restaurant doesn’t serve a single diet soda, you ask? Well we found it right here in Natchez, MS where they host party events and weddings! Seriously. No diet soda per our waitress. I wish I had taken a photo of the look on my husband’s face when she told him that, but, well, I was a little stunned as well and by the time I thought of it, he had recovered. All in all, the staff has been excellent (except for the kitchen staff, of course they might be equally polite but I wouldn’t show my face outside the kitchen if I microwaved food that poorly either). Speaking of poor food, get a good vue of that bill for dinner. Look at the photo of the food, then back to the ticket, then at the food again. Yea. We were shocked too, but it does prove that we actually did attempt dinner at the pilot house. On second thought, I think we will skip Pilot House for breakfast and go straight for fast food. So, in closing, sometimes you don’t get what you pay for. The Vue and Pilot House restaurant prove that point.

We stayed in this hotel and was amazed at how great it was. The lounge and the restaurant was awesome. We stayed in one of the rooms with a balcony and truly enjoyed it. We have a 4 pound Pom that truly enjoyed watching everything that was going on. I was so disappointed yesterday when I booked the same room for 3 nights and when I called to confirm, they told me that they no longer except pets. So boy am I glad I called because we would be there after driving 5 & 1/2 hours and no place to stay. They said they had new management in the last couple of months that changed excepting pets. Only problem they still have all there info on the internet saying they do except pets. Anyway I had to look somewhere else for accommodations. I did and I hope it is as nice as it looks and they do except pets. I think most people nowadays travel with their fur babies. Ours is part of our family and is 11 years old , we couldn’t leave her behind.
