I totally enjoyed my stay here. My room was incredible. The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable and the breakfast was good. Parking is easy and the location is very walk friendly. I would totally recommend this spot!
I recently had dinner at the Guest House Restaurant with friends. What a wonderful experience! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the staff was wonderful and our surroundings were beautiful. Every member of the staff that was there stopped by our table to greet us and make sure everything was perfect. Even the owner, Joseph Smith stopped by to introduce himself and to welcome us! This godly young man even took time to show us around, share some history with us and invited us to enjoy the beautiful grand porch looking out over the city! This is one place I will visit again! Thank you Joseph Smith, not the Mormon, we are praying for you! Be sure to take a picture at the angel wings as you enter!
While staying at the Guest House B&B in Natchez, MS, both my husband and I experienced something that crossed the line of sanitary and health regulations. While having our complimentary breakfast, I witnessed the waiter placing his fingers inside of my water glass after scratching his head. He wore no gloves or a mask and with the threat of Co-Vid rampant as such, this is just unacceptable. When served our food, my husband was given a cup of butter which had food residue particles floating in it. Needless to say we were both without appetite by this time and we made our exit quickly. We didn’t bother to return the next morning.
We stayed one night on the second floor. They noted the ' view' of the city, but the large upstairs porch was locked. The bed was way too tall to get in and out of without a stool, which they did give us, when we asked, but as there were many open rooms, they should have offered another room. The tea at nite was only one choice, a very highly caffeinated variety and the tea at breakfast was Walmart great value brand. Offered chocolates at the finish of breakfast, but they were closed completely melted in the dish. I expected better. The manager wished us well, but never asked how our stay was or emailed after as other b & B's do. Pretty place, but we'll stay elsewhere as it feels like minimal effort on their part.
We stayed is a very spacious room on the first floor that had access to the front porch. Unfortunately it was too cold for porch sitting on our visit. The bath is a bit dated and the bed was soft for my taste. These were the only negatives. Despite being right behind the front desk the room was quiet and the heat worked very well. We were lucky to be regaled by the owner Sean’s ghost story about Shannon (Channen) who is said to still occupy the building. We did not meet Shannon, although I was on the lookout for him. The highlight of the Guesthouse is the breakfast which is included. It is hot, tasty and fast. But best of all it is served by Mr. Henry who is a pure blessing. I love his enthusiasm for his job and for life and he made my mornings.
We had a fantastic couple of days staying in the Richard Wright room. Fantastic home with high ceilings, antique pieces without any pretensions. Henry was a delight at breakfast while Jay and Sean gave great advice. Easy ride to see Vicksburg Military Park and town as well as the treasures of Natchez.
Stayed here with two other couples and we had adjoining rooms on outside balcony. Rooms were very clean. Rooms had antique looking furniture. Bath very good. Staff was very helpful and could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend. Price was very reasonable for what you got. Hot breakfast included in price.
Great restaurant, comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly staff. That’s all I need to say except that dinner was great as well. If you don’t sit on the front porch and have a drink, you’re missing a great part of the experience.
This is one nasty inn. It badly needs a makeover and how about some TLC? Just sweeping the front steps would have helped. Our room was light as day at night because you can’t close the drapes and bright lights shone in from every window. The beat up looking door to the hallway allowed about a half inch of space so more light came in from there too. The bathroom cried out for an update. Plus there was a weird gaseous odor that woke me up; if it was natural gas I guess it would have killed us!
We have been to Natchez several time over the years. It’s a quick getaway for us. The room was nice and clean. We had breakfast one morning and it was very good! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely recommend The Guest house!
