My wife, and Irish setter Bob, and I stayed at Marty's place. She and her husband operate Tam Valley B and B. It was better than described and the photos don't do the place justice. The cottage is sort of one big room, with a hallway to a large bathroom with a great shower. The kitchen area is suitable for simple meals. Marty supplies breakfast in the cottage. We were always out during the day, and brought salads and other easy to prepare meals from Safeway for dinner. Mill Valley has great eateries downtown. We were here for 6 nights. In fact, we spent NYE here. We have already recommended TVB&B to friends.

My wife and I loved this place. Marty is an amazing hostess. She was so polite and pleasant. Our room was spacious and we used the kitchenette to cooked our V day meal. It was romantic, intimate spacious perfect for the holiday weekend. We will definitely spread the word, to our friends. It the perfect location to hike in Muir Woods and explore Muir Valley. Thank You again Marty, you are awesome :)

We LOVED our stay at the Tam Valley B&B! Great location, close to SF and Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Napa, all the sights. Cottage has french doors that open to patio in a private garden setting, lovely cottage, no shared walls, quiet and serene. Has everything you need, beautiful bathroom, cute kitchenette, nice furnishings. If you are visiting the Bay Area this is perfect for one person or a couple. Highly recommend staying here, can't wait to go back. My husband and I really enjoyed our time there, and were treated to loads of hospitality.

My husband and I stayed at the Tam Valley B&B in late June to early July of 2013. We both loved our stay! You get a private cottage that is comfortable, clean, and quiet. The large room has a kitchenette area with a mini fridge, counter space, sink, dishes/silverware, and table. There was a fresh loaf of banana bread and juice for us when we arrived, which we enjoyed. There is also a good sized closet and bathroom off of the main living area which was nice. The decor is lovely and when you step outside there are beautiful gardens everywhere as well as your own patio. We had warm weather when we were there so we were able to leave the doors open and enjoy the garden view. This was such a wonderful and relaxing environment. The location was also great with good proximity to the redwoods and San Francisco so we were able to fit in sightseeing/touristy things, dining, and some nightlife. It was such a nice change from where we live in the Midwest, we didn't want to leave!

My wife and I stayed at Tam Valley "Bed and Breakfast" on our spring break. Lets start with some positives: Pros: Nice location. Close to Mill Valley and other towns. It's next to the road to Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and Mt. Tam. There is a private entrance and the room is comfortable. There is a small refrigerator to store food and a relaxing patio. Cons: This is not a B & B. We stayed for a week and the owner said that she doesn't serve breakfast to people who stay for a week. I could have argued with her but I did not want to start our vacation this way. We stayed at this location because we figured with breakfast and keeping food in the room it would save us money. The owner was absent but she knew when we were there and gone. It was a little strange. For Instance, we did not have a our towels exchanged and the place was not cleaned except for the garbage. We're not picky people but using the same wash cloth and towel for a week is a bit much. The second to last day before we left we were asked to pay for our room with cash or check and just leave it on the table when we left. I did not feel comfortable with this so I actually took a picture of the cash. When we left my wife stated that they probably were not claiming the business. Who knows. Overall, our stay was pleasant but if we go back we would not stay here again. Go to Joe's Tacos in Mill Valley. Great food and atmosphere. The book store in Mill Valley is nice and the coffee shop is good. You will need a car to get around.
