Just arrived today after a long ride from east Sussex. Sweet little room (didn't realised I booked twin so everyone in his own bed) 😁. Bathroom isn't really on the newest standard but all is clean and cozy. The staff in the restaurant /reception /bar area are super friendly and very helpful. Dinner was amazing, our compliments to the chef!

We got married here on Saturday. Emma and Kim have been great since booking here about 6 months ago. I stayed with my family on the Friday and we had a meal in the evening which we were all raving about! The setting was just what we wanted, lovely grounds, very private and intimate. The day itself was perfect, nothing...

We stayed here for just one night with some friends after a barge holiday, we had a standard room and it was clean and warm, although quite dark because of the small windows, this is due to the type of building it is, one criticism was carpet in the bathroom, a bit dated, tiles would have been much better. The...

The food was amazing, we went for the chicken salad with seeds and it was gorgeous. Well...

Recently stayed hear for three nights whilst attending an outdoor navigation training course. I was located in a three bed roomed annexe with a large cosy sitting area/lounge + sky TV. My room was ensuite whereas the other two rooms share facilities. My only gripe was the access lock to the annexe was very troublesome and in need of replacement!...

This was a real find: a relaxed environment with good food. We are a retired couple who place a very high value on the type of welcome we receive and the friendliness and efficiently of staff. All were of a very high standard and members of staff took time out to share some history with us. The main buildings were...

The room was a decent size with an en suite, the decor is pleasant, it was clean and the bed very comfortable and incredibly quiet at night, made for a good nights sleep. My partner found the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The oldest part of this lovely old traditional stone building is believed to date back to the 17th century. Set in its own grounds with ample free parking and located at the foothills of the Black Mountains, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and breathtaking views. With its relaxing atmosphere and comfortable rooms, it lends itself perfectly for those wishing to visit the area to take part in outdoor activities or for those who just want to "get away from it all" and maybe visit the famous town of books Hay on Wye, with its antiques & book shops and its literary festival held in May, or visit the quaint market town Brecon to join in with its Jazz festival in August or walk the Brecon Beacons, then there is the Royal Welsh Show in July, in Builth Wells. The lodge has its own lounge bar, providing local and international beers and wines. A cosy restaurant with a delicious a la-carte menu serving seasonal local produce, which all makes for a great dining experience. You are welcome to join us for as long or as short as you like, we cater for individuals, parties, families and corporate groups, offering everything from budget shared accommodation through to deluxe four poster bedroom. The deluxe room has a four poster bed, tea/coffee felicity, 32" flat screen TV, sofa and an en-suite to die for!
