We stayed here to be close to restaurants and still be able to drive to Mt Rushmore and the Badlands. The best thing about this hotel is that there was breakfast served in a dining room. Choices were limited, but it was breakfast. The hotel filled up each night. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Very helpful staff.

We stayed for 1 night after extending our trip and K-Bar-S lodge couldn’t extend our stay. Positives: big room, slightly upgraded, location is perfect, easy check in and out, nice reception customer service. Negatives: terrible breakfast!! Not only the food like cold coffee , no bread at all, but the overall attitude of people serving it. They make you feel bad just asking for food; it felt like we were begging. I put my plate down and just left. My kids got egg, patty, yogurt, and one small powder donut. They had to ASK FOR IT. Coffee and hot water was slightly warm. Sofa bed was stained with urine and smelled like urine. The hotel is just a remodeled motel. Pool an jacuzzi had an extensive amount of chlorine that I couldn’t breathe inside. Jacuzzi was dirty with some hairs and green junk floating. This hotel was recommended in the forums. I am so glad we picked K Bar S Lodge over this one in the beginning as one night stay is doable but more than that- hell no!

We stayed at the Rushmore Inn in the Rustic 2 - Queen room. We were there for 1 night to see Mount Rushmore. It served our purposes. Pool and hot tub were nice. The breakfast was a bit to be desired, but we got food. We had pancakes, sausage patties, yogurts, cereals... Hey, it's Covid. It's not the hotel's fault. Rooms were a little dark, but homey. I'm tall and the toilet was LOW for me, but manageable. Great location to still walk in to town for eats or seeing some local flavor... Easy check in and check out. Very friendly desk staff.

Fantastic experience! Largest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Bunk beds for the kids, large six person table, bar area, and separate bedroom with two queen beds. Some of the rooms are motel-like (outside entrances), while ours was hotel-like (inside entrance). Laundry machines on site. Great breakfast service! Marge asked us what we wanted and got it for us. Very nice staff. Best part was the proximity to Mt Rushmore; there is no better place to stay if that’s what you want to see. This hotel exceeded our expectations!

This is definitely not a luxurious hotel. The rooms were average at best. The location is good though. The breakfast was a disgrace. Not only was the choice limited, the portions were limited too. Somehow I could not see that this hotel is customer friendly. It is rather organized to maximize profit.
