Our room was lovely with a great view; however the breakfast was of a very poor presentation and quite sparse. The cooked meal was ok, but the presentation and quality of the fresh fruit was extrememely poor. The bananas were black and the apples, grapes etc weren't much better. The meal we had was the beef which was pretty tasteless... More

We stayed here using an Itison voucher. The reception service was great with really friendly and helpful staff who led us to our room. The room itself was huge, clean, and overall a really nice bedroom. We got a bottle of wine on arrival (as part of this voucher deal), which was lovely. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful... More

Hard to fault this place, a wee gem of a hotel, situated in lovely surroundings with the River Clyde running close by and Tinto in the background. Staff friendly, attentive and very professional. They have done it all before and so well. We had eaten there many times and it was the preferred choice for our venue. We booked in... More

I like the fact you are taken to your room by a member of staff at reception. Our king room was lovely, but when running a bath, the water wasn't hot enough. My partner advised reception of this and they apologised and upgraded us to the honeymoon suite which was beautiful and had stunning views. The service was excellent throughout... More

The location is very good but the lunch was really disappointing.i ordered the Manor Burger but the waitress came back to say they had no burgers! I then ordered the Bourgignon. When it came it was just rather tough slices of roast beef with a thin gravy with some shallots and bacon bits which had just been pored over it at... More

We have been regular visitors to Cornhill House over the past 10 years and enjoyed wonderful holidays with 4 generations of our family. So we were surprised to find on this visit the welcome not so warm, almost indifferent. One of the highlights of our trip would be the dining experience, but on this visit we found the menu's lacking... More

Lovely hotel and got it as an "is it on" deal. Food was good, bar had a good atmosphere, quiet, out the way which I enjoyed. Would recommend if you are looking for a quiet night away. Staff where really kind and helpful Only issue was my pillow was too hard, but that's me being fussy liking really soft pillows.

Manor view Hotels, who own seven other luxury hotels across the central belt, took over the former Cornhill House Hotel in March of this year and have pretentiously renamed it Cornhill Castle - why? It never was one. The trouble is once you start having delusions of grandeur the naming must live up to the billing and sadly Cornhill doesn't... More
