We generally stay here when climbing Mount Rainier. It's very simple but comfortable. Not a lot of options in the area and they do cater to climbers. That staff is wonderful though. It can get a bit noisy when everybody is up early getting ready to climb. No frills but nice.

As stated by the previous reviews the motel has a rustic charm that fits the area and makes a good location for an overnight stay while hiking or climbing Mt. Rainier. The rooms are simple, no tv or frills, but a clean place to rest your head. Prior reviews were correct about the flat pillows and hard beds, but no...

Was climbing Mt. Rainier with RMI. Not that many options, but this was convenient. The staff in the coffee house works hard to accommodate the guests. If you're mindset is for climbing - this is a nice place to start and end your climbing trip. Everything is there for your climb: Access to food, equipment and guide service.

My wife and I stayed here for a night before and a night after doing the Wonderland Trail. Each time we were able to get the "large" room - two Queen beds - priced at $120 before tax. The rooms are spacious but bare bone motel style. The rustic element comes into play since the original building built in 1912...

We were in town for a wedding. Most of the other places to sleep in ashford washington were full. To my suprise Whittaker had openings. They advertised wi/fi but couldn't connect. When you do not have any phone service up there wi/fi is a must. Especially when the rooms have no tvs. The beds were stiff. So at best, though...

Looks very pretty and it is on a nice "campus" with Whittaker's Climbing equipment store, rentals and the Rainier Mountaineering guiding company. All under same ownership as far as I know. I was in a ground floor room with 2 queen beds - so pretty big and fronted the nice green lawn. Lots of towels and very clean. No coffee...

We knew the bunkhouse would be rustic and it certainly was. The cafe was great to get coffee or breakfast. The shower was fine with plenty of hot water. BUT our only complaint was the pillows....they were flat! About useless. Walls are not insulated and you can hear your neighbors quite well....we had quiet neighbors but could be a problem...

Whether part of a climbing party or just passing through, this is a great option for travelers to Mount Rainier National Park. Located next to the headquarters for RMI, guests hear can pick up the climbing vibe, enjoy a quick and simple breakfast from the wonderful staff in the coffee shop, or ease on over to the outdoor bar and...

The bunkhouse is a good place to stay. We had a huge room with our own entrance. (There were birds nesting in the roof at the entrance, otherwise it would be perfect to sit out there.) Everything was basic and clean, but very acceptable. The hot tub was a nice treat. This location is right next to Rainer Basecamp grill...
