I love the Madison Hotel - it feels like a home away from home! I often stay while travelling on business and couldn't be more pleased. The lobby and rooms are welcoming and comfortable, love the gym and Rod's bar can't be matched. The staff are all super friendly yet professional. Great vibe!

When we visit this area, we always stay here because the service and rooms are awesome. The building is beautiful and perfectly located.Even parking is easy. The ample breakfast is a welcome start to busy days, too.

I had some issues like feeling separated from society as I was put on the 4th floor with minimal room accommodations, No extra blankets and no microwave, no curtains. Didnt see one person on the floor during my 3 day stay.... The room was bare bones so to speak. There was dust on the table and stands and trash still in the trash can along with small items on the floor that would have been picked up with a vacumn. There was no communications on what the hotel offered such as pool or weight room ect and felt like I was put in a corner away from society.I was being with family at Morristown hospital and told discounts were offered by The Madison for people needing a place while in town but later found out I paid the nightly rate for that particular time frame which didnt make me feel any better. We did receive a 20 dinner coupon that must be used on the night it is assigned or you lose it. That was helpful. The hotel is beautiful but I felt like they assumed that being in town for hospital patients meant we need less....Beautiful, pleasant staff , but ask questions about what is included in your stay and events and navigation because they dont offer up any info on that stuff.

My husband & I traveled from PA to stay at The Madison Hotel for a wedding & reception. It was absolutely gorgeous! We were greeted with a smile and a nice “goody” bag. The room was nice. We had a king bed. Although, the room temp was set on 61 so it was very cold in the room for a February day. When my husband and I checked out the bathroom, we noticed we only had 1 washcloth for the 2 of us. I’m sure if we had called the front desk & asked for one, we would have gotten one right away but we were in a hurry to get to the wedding. My point of this is, why would housekeeping only put 1 in the bathroom to begin with? My other little issue is the continental breakfast was very light. I’ve stayed at several hotels & the others I’ve stayed at have had eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. The breakfast here was cups of oatmeal that you fixed yourself, Greek yogurt (that not everyone likes), limited fruit, and a few pastries with coffee. I didn’t see any type of juice. I was very disappointed with this. Overall though, it was a very nice stay. I would definitely stay here again & recommend The Madison Hotel

We didn’t sleep at all between the people yelling in the halls, slamming of the doors and a very loud train that blasted its horn when it went by 3x overnight. Hotel is decent but the noise and the price are too much.

I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel on September 18th, 2023 when I was in town for business. I was just staying overnight and this was well reviewed and a fair price on our corporate booking website, as well as being only 10 mins from where I needed to go, so I booked a room. I arrived a bit later in the evening (9:30ish), so I was checking in after many of the amenities closed (restaurant, pool, etc...) so I can't comment on those. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful, so I had high hopes for my room. The staff was polite during check-in. I was given a room on the first floor and as I walked to my room I started to have some concerns. The hallways of the hotel were not clean. There was dust along the baseboards, there were used tissues on the floor in the hallway as well as food crumbs, and many of the doors to the rooms were visibly dirty or scratched. It appeared that they were undergoing a renovation, you could smell that the carpets had been freshly laid, so I was hoping that was responsible for some of the mess. I arrived at my room, which was down in a creepy dark corner of the first floor, and was shocked. There was no proper room number, just a goldenrod sheet of paper with the room number printed on it tacked to the wall. The door handle/lock mechanism was coated in some sort of goopy looking whiteish residue that made me reluctant to touch it. When I got into the room I was surprised by how small it was, and once I got the very dim lamps turned on things got worse. The caning on the rattan portion of the dresser in the room was smashed in and broken. There were visible coffee drips and crumbs on both the dresser which held the TV, the small round table in the room where a desk would usually be, and on the carpet. It was clear the room had not been cleaned properly after someone else had stayed in it. I looked in the bathroom and there were dirty grey drips on the toilet bowl lid as well as similar murky splashes on the wall and vanity. I went to call the front desk but the phone in the room was coated with dust and hair and I was unwilling to use it. I grabbed my things and went back to the front desk to ask for a different room. It took a while for them to move my reservation but they were apologetic and I was given a room a few doors down. The room itself was nicer and larger, there was a proper room number and the lock was free from gross debris, but when I went into the bathroom I was appalled. There were disgusting muddy footprints on the floor and stains in the shower (maybe mud?). There was a splash of something disgusting as well as black marks on the wall above the sink, and when I looked at the toilet I noticed that there were splatters of human waste on the floor in front of and next to the toilet. There was a used tissue in the trash can next to the toilet, as well as additional splashes of human waste in the trash bag. To me it appeared that someone had gotten sick in that bathroom and had used the trash can as a vomit bucket, but sadly had not gotten everything into the can, and it was never cleaned properly after. I had to go back down to the desk and this time I asked for a manager, because frankly it was ludicrous to have two rooms that looked like nobody had cleaned them after they were clearly stayed in and visibly dirty. I was tempted to just stay in my car because the utter lack of cleanliness in BOTH rooms was shocking/gross and I really didn't feel confident that the rooms had actually been turned over aside from making the bed between guests. After speaking with a manager, who was frankly not particularly apologetic considering this was now my 2nd filthy room and I showed him photos of actual human waste left in the room, I was moved a third time to the second floor. The excuse given was that they are doing work in the rooms and sometimes maintenance doesn't tell housekeeping after they enter a room so they can clean it. Sorry, that might explain muddy footprints, but sure does not explain the human waste, coffee/food debris and general dusty condition of the rooms/hallways. The second floor hallway wasn't much cleaner than the first with food crumbs on the floor as well, and two luggage carts just sitting right in the middle of the hallway that were still there in the morning when I left. While my third room wasn't the cleanest room I've ever stayed in, it was at least free from visible waste and at this point it was after 11PM and I just wanted to sleep before my morning meeting. I am giving two stars instead of 1 because most of the front desk staff was nice and tried to be helpful, and the included breakfast buffet was well stocked with a lot of choices, but frankly I would NEVER recommend anyone stay here based on the clear systemic housekeeping issues they very clearly have.

Dear Elle M, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Our primary goal is to exceed expectations and we have obviously failed in that area, and I do apologize. You are correct we were in the process of finishing a renovation back in September however that is no excuse for the experience you had. I can assure you that all aspects of your experience have been rectified from missing signage to an improved housekeeping department. Please contact me at Jbennett@themadisonhotel.com so that we can restore your faith in the Madison Hotel. Thanks, John Bennett Assistant General Manager

I stayed at the hotel for a company conference. The staff were so kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. The conservatory was stunning! I can see why there are so many weddings in there! One negative, the chairs in the conference area are SOOO uncomfortable!

Very pleased. My cousin married her sweetheart this weekend and we had a great time. Checkin was easy. Everyone was very accommodating and it was easy to make a request. The hotel is dog friendly m, which is a huge plus. Had a great time. This was our second stay.

To the good: *team members friendly *hotel room well laid out for family of three *good shower pressure and products To the not so good: *pet friendly hotel. Saw a small dog running the lobby (owner to blame). Saw said dog relieve itself on lobby carpet, Gross. *my husband has pet allergies. Our room #103 must be one that housed a pet, he had a fairly bad allergy attack. Didn’t think to ask for a non pet room or bring Benadryl. *room 103 is also close to exit from weddings. It was very loud between midnight and 1am. Overall, we liked hotel. We were there to meet friends for dinner and decided to stay. Problems were mostly related to guests who are not respectful to others. I would recommend not staying in the low number 100 wing, loud and likely their pet wing. I would also suggest a no pet policy. It is not sanitary and potentially hurtful to guests with allergies.

The bar, the restaurant and lobby is attractive. The rooms are ready for a renovation. The temp in my room kept defaulting even though i turned it up. Bed is terrible. Restaurant is not open for breakfast. The atrium banquet is beautiful.
