The only advantage of it is the place, because it's situated right in the center of the city. The staff at reception doesn't know English at all, so they won't be able to help you with anything, the rooms have old and not many furniture, but the bathroom with a shower is pretty good. The breakfast is poor. For this... More

The hotel has a nice reception and the room is clean. It has a nice bathroom and walk in shower. Compared to European hotels we've visited it is quite basic. The pool is small and uninviting in the basement.

Descent place but if you're looking to stay in a hamam this is it. While its 40 degrees outside, you can be sure it will be 75 degrees in your room because there's no air conditioning. Well there is but apparently it isn't working and although I called and told them they simply said it was down.

A return visit to Afyon (last time in '93). Decided on this place. Pros: parking for the motorbike in their basement garage and then take the lift to reception; reception efficient and friendly, free use of a computer in the foyer; spacious room with tub in bathroom; good selection for breakfast on the top floor and take it onto the... Afyon was truly a perfect choice to break between cappadocia and bursa/istanbul. The sight of the fortress from almost anywhere in town is impressive. I think I was the only tourist in town, I didn't see any. Folks were curiously friendly. Way to much tea! I went on a rural daytrip to Ayazini, that was super! Otel Cakmak was very... More

The Cakmak Marble Hotel in easy to find. Watch the road signs and follow the one to the city centre (centrum) and the locals will gladly direct you to it. It occupies a good site in the middle of the old city and has lovely views of the castle built on top of a massive rocky outcrop in about 1,350... More

This hotel is certainly full of fading glory. The lobby (as with many Turkish hotels) is very impressive but once you get to the rooms, things go downhill. The halls smells of smoke, the bath tub leaked, the room was crowded. We had 2 nights of non-stop noise from functions in the hotel - impossible to hear yourself speak, let... More

This hotel is in a central location in Afyon. The staff is kind and helpfull. There's free parking. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The only problem was, there was a wedding at night. I couldn't sleep because of the incredible noise. If you decide to stay here, make sure that there's no wedding ceremony during your stay.

Excellent central city location with abundant restaurants and shopping surrounding. The exterior and most common spaces are very attractive and nicely appointed. Indoor pool and hamam both very good. Excellent breakfast. Great view of the city from the top-floor restaurant and terrace. Our room was good sized with comfortable beds. Furniture, carpets, etc. are definitely showing their age. While reasonably... More

Considering the size of the city, I think it is difficult to find a brilliant hotel. I have been traveling around Turkey and in my experience, this place is a fine place to stay. Probably staying here for a week or more will be boring, but staying here for a night was fine, and I thought the price and the... More
