We chose a pull through site, (had to pay an additional $25 to secure same) as we have not camped for a long time and just acquired a caravan. All sites are quite spacious and well maintained: every day the staff rake, blow away leaves, and clean up. It was extremely windy whilst we were there, but water was sprayed daily on the roads to keep dust down. The ablution block and laundry room are spotlessly clean. It was Cinco de Mayo whilst we were there, and the park provided an evening meal (at no cost to the client) in the ramada, where there is a fire pit, and plenty of seating. Also on Mother's Day they provided ice cream ($5) with various toppings, and we were encouraged have seconds if we wanted. We thought that was very kind of the owners to do that. Staff were extremely friendly. The trails led to the creek, which is lovely to sit and hear the trickling of the water. We will definitely go back, and have noted some favourite sites!! Most people there had dogs, and I must say there was minimal barking considering how many there were.…
This was the nicest, best maintained campground we have stayed at. We have spent months in our 5th wheel with our son over the past 3 years and we were very impressed. The facilites were immaculate, we took advantage of the many DVDs while we were here and loved the trail that was on the property that led to the creek. We enjoyed driving to Cottonwood, Sedona, Pine and Payson from this location. We will be back!
We stayed at Zane Grey with friends of ours last week. We were very impressed with the park. The manager was very friendly as she checked us in. Our site was wide and separated from other sites and the road by bushes and trees. Everyday it was raked and the leaves were blown away. There is a nice common area with a fire pit and indoor game room. Free wiFi is available, but for $14.95/week you can upgrade to wiFi that allows streaming. We did this and streaming worked very well. They have a trail through the woods along a creek which was a great place to take our dogs. The laundry room and bathrooms were immaculate. It was our first visit to the Verde Valley and it was a great home base to visit all the amazing sites nearby. Sedona, Jerome, Montezuma's Castle and Well are all an easy driving distance from the park. We highly recommend a stay here.…
When we arrived, we were escorted to our spot. In order to back-in you have to pull forward into another spot then back straight up into your space. We did that with the direction of the owner. After we were situated, the owner and wife stopped by and reamed us out for messing up the gravel in the spot forward to ours. They also continued to ream us out about keeping the park clean, and maintaining our spot to high standards. The lady was a real "B". We are meticulous about our camp site. We pulled forward into the other spot at the request of the owner. It's just infuriating. Bottom line is you better bring a rake to clean your own spot and any where else the owners want you to clean. Ridiculous. The wifi is awful. First, you can't get any mobile service in that area, so you are dependent upon the campground to get any wifi service. They use a 3rd party service to provide wifi. You have to create an account and login only to get unusable speeds. We had quite enough and decided to leave the next day. There's no need for the owners to be that rude. Not a place we can recommend that you stay.…
We booked this park for Thanksgiving weekend with another couple. We couldn't get sites next to each other, but they weren't too far apart. On the day we checked in, we found out that our site had been changed to one near the street, on the other side of the park. Although it was a nice site, it was far from our friends, and loud due to the street noise. Not only that, due to a rate increase after we booked, they charged us more than originally agreed upon. Our friends were not charged more, so we can only assume when they moved us to a new site, they re-ran the charges and they came up with the new rates. Trying to work with the office to correct the overcharge was impossible (they finally did give us a refund), and one employee was extremely rude to us. On the day we checked out, we were hassled about getting out of our spot by 11:00 am, even though they could clearly see that we were loaded up and just hooking up our tow vehicle. They threatened a $25 late fee for checking out past 11:01. We will not be back to this park, even though the grounds were well taken care of and the bathrooms were clean. If they can't treat their guests with respect, we will find another place to stay next time. We…
The cabin was fabulous, clean. comfortable, nicely furnished and well stocked if you want to cook. The outdoor porch with fireplace was relaxing and I could not believe the price! We like the individual cabins and remote setting yet 10 miles up the road was the interstate. They area is kept very clean and tidy area. Employees were very kind and accommodating. The location was great for what we had planned. Right in Camp Verde for the attractions and only a 40 minute drive to Sedona. It took about an hour on a scenic drive to Tonto National Bridge State Park. . If we ever get back that way we will definitely stay here again. They have I believe 6 individual cabins and many RV sites.
If they want to put you in sites 1-10, 51-62,80-86. Go to a different park. Loud highway noise, leaf blowers by employees, if you want a relaxing morning or afternoon to take a nap or read a book not a chance. Clean bathrooms and showers but that’s all they have. Standard for rv parks. The dog run is small, I mean 1 dog small. The managers are not dog people or kids friendly. Snakes, lizards everywhere, always look down then up for widow makers. Most of the staff are friendly. Many better parks in the area. The WiFi sucks, bring your own hotspot. No cable and satellite works in some spots, antennae tv is ok out of phoenix. Again this park is literally right on hwy 260, 20’ off highway so there is excessive road noise especially on the weekends.
Not sure of the quality of the park. Left message this morning that I wanted to book 2 different weeks coming up. So far no call back. Hopefully they will call me tomorrow. Or I'll try them again. Looks nice from the road.
We stayed in this park 5 nights and cant say enough. Starting with the staff who always took time out to speak to us, to the absolute cleanliness overall. We were all truly impressed and look forward to returning
We stayed in the one without the upper story sleeping area. The place was very clean and came complete with all things needed to cook your own meals. (Pots pans, utensils silverware glasses cups kitchen towels dish soap salt and pepper) All things you would see at in a hotel room for bath and bed needs are provided. It was quiet and really enjoyed our stay. The only draw back was the TV choices are basic channels and if you dont mind watching a million commercials in between 10 minutes of a show then, well all is good. Me, I prefer Netflix but this was not available there.
