We spent a total of 3 nights at Mi Norte, returning after a 1-day stay because we liked our accommodation so much. We did not stay in the main house, rather in one of the new suites in the garden annexe, “Cine y Mar.” When I first read on-line of the cinema-themed rooms, I’d thought it might be a bit twee, but it was tastefully done to the extent that, if you didn’t want to focus on the clever film touches, you might not even have noticed. We stayed in the “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” suite, the theme carried out by the wallpaper, the glass divider between the bedroom and sitting areas, the lamp, and the occasional table. The other suites all had their own themes and different furnishings which distinguished them from ours. Even the free toiletries were a cut above the norm; what’s inside the bottle counts as much as the name on the outside, and these were unusually good. The owner, Cristina, was a lovely hostess and makes all her guests feel special. Jean Carlos was a very helpful assistant with carrying bags and getting our breakfast from the lovely area of cold cuts, fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, juice, etc. The hotel has free wi-fi, ample free parking and is located in a rural location near Las Catedrales beach; there are a lot of other interesting sites within easy reach by car.…
