The building itself is an amazing medieval castle, centrally located. There is a public parking lot right in front of the entrance which is paying until 10pm. The check-in was very friendly and efficient and our luggage was carried right to our room. The room was comfortable and came with a very spacious bathroom. We had a good night sleep,...

We booked a two night stay with dinner on Valentines Day. The hotel is lovely with plenty of character and friendly efficient staff. Parking at the front door at 4 euros for 24 hours is excellent for a city center hotel. The room was lovely albeit the bathroom was a bit cramped. The heater in the bathroom does not turn...

This is a good overnight stop. Unfortunately our visit coincided with the eve of the 3/Kings festival on 5th Jan . We were given a room overlooking the square. This square seems to be the place for the local youths to hang out and we were treated to a considerable cacophony of rising noise culminating in the setting off of...

A unique opportunity to stay in a 15th century palace. The location was excellent, within walking distance of the town centre, main street and squared. We enjoyed the visit to the convent, its museum and shop. The parador offered an excellent free guided tour and the catering and comfort were very good. Reception staff was slow to find my booking...

Overnight stay in almost original building dating back to 15 century. Relaxed location with good road access. Interesting tour on second morning with an introduction to the history of the building and a tour of its walls, chapel and tower room.

My husband and I have stayed at the Parador de Zafra four or five times because it makes a great stopping point when driving from the north of the country to the south. This time we stayed in a room named the Torre de Homenaje which the parador chain considers to be a "unique room." The room was nice enough,...

We stayed three nights in the Parador de Zafra, a former ducal place which combines a castle-like appearance on the outside with a renaissance palace feel to the interior. We had a very pleasant large, airy room overlooking the inner courtyard and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was pretty good; the...

Firstly let's dispell other reviews about poor parking, you can park rite at the entrance to the hotel, the parking is under the control of the municipality and costs a mere €3.75 per 24 hour period, so exelent parking. The reception staff were friendly informative and attentive as were the bar and restaurant staff, the room was warm and well...

The room furnishings were torn and dusty. The receptionist looked like we had woken her up when we arrived in the afternoon and pretended not to speak English! There is not much to see in the town of Zafra, we went because we wanted to stay in a 'castle'. The restaurant was expensive and deserted so we ate in a...
