We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this magical hotel. Lovely large bedroom full of character with an adjoining modern large and bright bathroom. As there was a large and noisy wedding on our visit we ate in town. However the breakfast buffet was of a high standard and tasty. There is a lovely pool area and last but not least... More

Loved this parador steeped in history. There is a room upstairs in ramparts showing old pictures of the alcazar years ago. Nothing much has changed. Fascinating to see. It was lovely dining in inner central courtyard! Staff all very friendly. Very welcoming place. Wifi fantastic . Lots of shampoo and conditioner which I was glad to see.

A remarkable Parador, not least because we had a room the size of a planet with a balcony to match (the one on the right at the front) and the most beautiful stunning ceiling. It felt like we were living in a museum or a real old castle. As usual for Paradores everything was clean and comfortable. The whole castle... More

Old furniture old rugs old old old. Dining room rivals McDonald's for atmosphere. Desk unable to break down 500 Euros-really?? In a busy hotel?? But the restaurant we choose (not the Parador eating factory) happily did for us. Stay here for the location. Expect no more.

Parador has a great position to visit Zafra but you need to pay for the parking (4€ for 24hrs). It's very quaint and a qwerky shape and has a lovely spacious central courtyard. Our room was beautiful (as always) but of all the ones we've visited this isn't a favourite. Unfortunately it is up against stiff competition with some superb... More

Due to a change in plans during our tour of Spain's southwest we spent one night here but so wish it could have been more! The building is quite phenomenal and is very close to the charming plaza grande and plaza Chico and the rest of the historic centre. We asked for a quiet room with a nice view if... More

This hotel was beautiful. The staff were very welcoming. The rooms were very large and comfortable and typical of Paradors with a huge bathroom with nice big towels and plenty of toiletries. The parking was 4.50€ per day. Breakfast was served in the quadrangle and was very good with everything you could wish for.

Spain is chock a block full of old buildings and some folks like to think of themselves as knights or conquistadors. For those who enjoy this sort of thing, this is your place. The Parador, a 15th century building of massive stone blocks is part of the state run hotel organization that renovates these historic places. Structurally impressive and very... More

If you are a frequent visitor to Spain, then you should know about these parador hotels. If not, then you are in for a treat. They are historic buildings, converted into state-run hotels, hence not as outrageously expensive as one might expect. This one is a genuine 15th century castle, so those who want to pretend to be a baron... More

The building is nice, as usually "paradores" are. The room was ok, although a bit small. The main problem was Internet: although announced in all sites that they have Wi-Fi ... it is not really the case. First there is no signal in the rooms. Even downstairs, where supposedly one should be able to connect, it didn't work all the... More
