We had high hopes for this recently restored palace hotel. Unfortunately it didn't really float our boat. It was all beige and khaki concrete floors. Dread to think how cold feet would be in winter!!! Plasencia is a charming small town and the centre is small streets and restricted access. Much more colourful than the hotel! Much more vibrant than... More

Only spent one night here on the way to the Albufeira, what a stunning place will be re booking very soon but for at least a week Plasencia looks a really interesting place with lots to explore. The hotel was very comfortable the staff friendly and the food excellent what more could you ask for! highly recommended.

My wife and I were driving from Santander to the Algarve and were looking for a mid-point stop-over. A friend had made the same trip previously and recommended the hotel, so booked accordingly. We were immediately impressed with the look and feel of the hotel - reminiscent of a Hotel du Vin property but genuinely very old and historic. The... More

I really enjoyed staying in this very unique hotel. The hotel is located in a very old building which was completely renovated. The design is amazing. The room is very large and comfortable. If you like a good hotel in town - this should be your choice.

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our visit to Extremadura. We had a pleasant room with proper windows. On the first evening we noticed that the air conditioning was broken. We reported it and were immediately offered a free up grade. I thought we would be fine but wished we had taken it.. It was however... More

This historical building in the heart of the old city has been transformed into a contemporary, elegant and comfortable hotel. Our three night stay qualified us for the "long stay discount" and made our superior room with breakfast excellent value. The generously-sized room looked out over the plaza (but not a sound disturbed our sleep). A massive stone staircase takes... More

When booking, I asked for a room on an upper floor thinking I would be assured of a view. Not so. Who would think that a hotel of this calibre would not have windows in its rooms? The standard rooms have only narrow skylights, too high up to open without the remote control. Don't know how you'd ever get out... More

We stayed in a room with no windows. The only sky we could see were two stripes in the ceiling that we could control (ie, open/shut the shades and the windows) with the help of a remote control. So, if you happen to be claustrophobic, don't stay at this hotel. This is the only thing bad I did find with... More

We stayed here in may 2015 on a trip around Extremadura and it was our best stay by far. From the first minute you really felt welcomed and right at home. It is true that it is such a small, but nice touch to be welcomed with a fresh glass of water on a hot day by the time your... More

Very highly recommended. We arrived looking like 2 dischevelled, tired, hungry mountain bikers who had ridden 500 miles to get here. An accurate perception. Very quick check-in. Bowl of fresh cherries on reception. Young, charming staff who were super helpful. Great rooms. As per earlier review sink and bath are huge but that design chic is exactly the escape from... More
