Great opportunity to stay in something that is so old, but well looked after! Excelllent dishes of the region are an experience! The town is well worth visiting, especially when not too many tourists were around!

An impressively restored castle, giving a particularly regal feel to a most enjoyable stay. Very comfortable accommodation and excellent meals in elegant surroundings. The town itself has an interesting history with it's cathedral and many other old buildings.

We stayed here for one night en route south and really enjoyed it. Our spacious room overlooked the courtyard with a balcony, which was delightful and made the most of the (unexpected) December sunshine. It was also paid for using Amigos points (worth signing up to the Amigos loyalty scheme if you're regular Parador fans as we are). Check out...

An atmospheric parador! Nice common rooms. Our room was nice and clean with classic furniture. There is parking at the hotel. The staff was helpful and polite. The parador is at the center of the town.

we loved staying at the Siguenza Parador. the castle is amazing and beautiful. The bfast was good although it was a bit weird that the waitress never spoke to us at breakfast. We were grateful for the tour of the castle in English.

Pleasant site, lovely facility, furnished appropriately. We came for the history and ambience and were well rewarded. Visit to medieval castle with national park forest at its doorstep. Location is out of the way and the town is full of character and interesting features. Quiet peaceful location even on a Spanish "puente" holiday (1&2 November).

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Parador de Siguenza is an imposing medieval castle situated in an Arab fortress built atop a Roman settlement. These are the perfect accommodations, inviting you to enjoy an ancient city, where the stones speak of history, tradition and legend. The hotel's traditional Castilian furnishings are displayed with fine taste in the spacious, welcoming guest rooms. Some feature canopy beds that will make you feel as if you are lodging in a real palace. Within the thick stone walls there is a cobbled courtyard, a stately dining room and function rooms which are ideal for meetings and celebrations. In Siguenza you will enjoy a real journey back in time as you visit the cathedral, with its famous sepulcro del Doncel (tomb of the youth), chapels and cemetery. You can stroll through historic neighborhoods, medieval Travesana and the baroque neighborhood of San Roque. There are a number of typical small Castilian villages located throughout this large municipality, where traditional customs interact with rural architecture and nature, and where ancient taverns coexist with sophisticated restaurants. You can also enjoy the city's natural surroundings. The Rio Dulce Nature Reserve, the Pinar de Siguenza (Pine Wood of Siguenza), large Mediterranean forests, holm oak and oak woods, valleys carpeted in green, home to the griffon vulture, peregrine falcon and eagle owl, all offer up a one-of-a-kind splendor any time of year. Surely you won't miss a chance to visit? ... more   less
