Family weekend trip to Atlanta, wanted to stay downtown near Centennial Park and local attractions. Marriott Marquis had a great special going on. They're definitely hurting from COVID. Within easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. We didn't need our call all weekend. Everything was clean and well kept. Good COVID protocols being followed. It's probably due for some cosmetic updating in the next couple of years, it's style is a little dated but but generally was in good order. Lobby areas had lots of open space since it is geared for conventions. While there were people there, it seemed pretty empty overall. Lack of activity meant some shops and such were closed but it wasn't an issue for us. Within easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. We didn't need our car all weekend. Top tip - skip the valet ($50/night) and park in Courtland Parking Garage next door for $14/night.

I was so excited to plan a nice trip for our anniversary (although we had our 4 year old with us) so we chose this place based on the indoor pool (I knew it would be a rainy weekend). We got a package with parking and 2 aquarium tickets which was $450 for two nights. From the pictures I saw, the place looked fancy and spectacular and I was so excited. Maybe this hotel was that- 50 years ago. But nothing has been updated since- everything is old, in disrepair and dirty. What a rude awakening. The indoor pool looks nothing like the photo! So nasty we couldn’t even go in. False advertising, I know the photo on the website can’t even be the same place. We arrived late after driving in terrible rain and were so tired, we got up to our room and it was dirty so we had to go all the way back down to check into a new room. The staff at check in was nice and that was the only staff we encountered as there was no concierge and no one answered the phone when we called for information. This is not a family friendly hotel! All of the patrons this weekend were young and very loud- people waking around listening to loud, profane music on their phones and my son and I almost got barreled over by a woman wearing a bikini and heels taking a selfie video going into the pool while listening to loud profane music, no one was watching where they were walking so we had to dodge them. Not to sound prudish but I had to turn my sons head walking through the lobby b/c of the revealing outfits and profanity. It was so trashy!!! I couldn’t believe we were in a “nice” hotel, seemed more like the ghettos of my hometown in New Orleans. What a waste of money and a ruined trip.

I've never written a hotel review before, but I feel prompted to after my stay at the Marriot Marquis this week. I stayed at the hotel a few years ago and it was great - renovated, updated, clean. I stayed there again this week and it was disgusting. The lobby was clean, but the rooms.. yikes. The first room I was put in stunk of smoke. The second was better, but still didn't feel fully cleaned. I was exhausted so I cloroxed wiped down everything and stayed anyway. I was also disappointed to see there were hand sanitizer stands at the elevators on the main level, but no other levels. Seems like a basic thing that should be on every floor with the current CDC guidelines. The clientele has certainly changed over the past few years and I don't think I will be back until it's cleaned up. On a positive note.. all the staff I interacted with were great! Super friendly and helpful!

I stayed at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel at the last minute and I was sure that Marriott hotel should be good. Nevertheless, when I walked inside the hotel to turn on the light the light was a push on and it was broken. It was pushed so hard by someone that the knob was inside the wall. On my last day, when I came back to the room there was no maid service. No new towels and no toilet paper. I had a wake-up call at 4:30 am and the call came it at 4:44 am. I get the sense it was run down a bit.

First time visiting this hotel. We checked in the hotel then went to the room on the 39th floor and it wasn’t cleaned. Horrible experience. My husband took pictures went back to front desk and got a refund. We will never go back!

Dear MrsJigga, On behalf of the entire team, please accept our sincere apologies for the cleanliness issues in your room. Our housekeeping staff takes pride in what they do daily, and we also have processes in place to double-check each room prior to occupancy by the next guest. We fell short in our processes and are reviewing them so that this does not happen again. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope that you will give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves on a future stay. Sincerely, Dean Drief Director of Room Operations
