Julia and Kenyatta is the best!!! She helped me and was vey nice and knowledgeable!!! Very clean and beautiful. They have good food and spacious rooms. Conveniently located down town. It’s in the middle of ATL and they have a Starbucks located in the hotel.
I usually stay at Marriott hotels in the Buckhead area but I was feeling adventurous and wanted to check into the Marriott Marquis due to the fact that it is a tall hotel and I always have wanted to have a room with views of Downtown Atlanta so I made a reservation. I sent a message through the mobile app requesting a suite and I was given one right away by the friendly staff and then when I checked in on my phone and requested a mobile key to be sent to my phone so I could bypass the desk especially during COVID-19, and the mobile key was sent to my phone right away and it worked great to access my suite on 38 with amazing views of Downtown Atlanta. I requested a thick blanket and extra towels through the app as well and the friendly staff brought them to my door in minutes. The staff at this property are very friendly and considerate of the guests as the next morning several elevators were down and the staff directed guests to use the service elevators to allow better flow throughout the hotel. Staff also takes great precautions to ensure safety during COVID-19 with mask use, hand sanitising stations and staff cleaning around the hotels at all times. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to have amazing views of Atlanta and be treated like a valued guest. I truly believe this hotel values all guests and they showed that my titanium status means something to them!…
We decided to make an impromptu trip to Atlanta for a few days to visit a friend who was at the Grady Hospital. Even though the trip was not for pleasure we were expecting at least a decent room experience I’m Atlanta. We arrived at the hotel around 2 pm and expected to wait for our room because it was not quite check in which I believe was 4 pm. We drove up to the valet booth and discovered that it was $55 plus taxes and gratuities for a total of $71 per day. Extremely exorbitant. Nevertheless we used the valet services because the hotel was in a neighborhood overrun with drug addicts mental cases and other homeless people. I have never seen anything like that. Not even New York. What was disappointing about this service was we had to wait even after calling ahead to retrieve our car. The room was in need of a severe update. It looked like there was a leak and they barely patched it up properly. Paint cracks in the bathroom. Definitely not up to the Marriott standard.…
We had early check in and everything went smooth. Our toilet was not working when we got to the room. Called the front desk and they said someone was on the way. We waited awhile and called down again. They didn't have record of our call but they did send someone right up. The next morning called down about the breakfast on the concierge level and the the lady was rude. We had confirmed late check out and our cards stopped working at 11am. This was corrected and the lady that helped up refunded our parking for the trouble. We are Titanium members and very loyal to Marriott. This property isn't what it used to be so we probably will not stay here again
Old hotel good location. It looks similar to the New York Marriott Marquis. It also reminds me of the Westin St Bonaventure in LA. Room was updated, but no desk which is always a miss. Starbucks in the hotel and a few bars/restaurants. Overall I got a good night sleep and the gym is nice but I would think there are better options.
Best Marriott I have ever been to. The staff is absolutely amazing from front to back. Pamela Julia and Cassandra are awesome. Also some of the nicest suites I have ever stayed in with floor to ceiling and wall-to-wall windows with free breakfast. Cannot beat the value.
We would like to recognize Pamela at the front desk for her professionalism, knowledge and warm and welcoming personality. She is a ray of sunshine and a valuable asset to your establishment. The hotel is amazing and we will be back and highly recommend it to anyone coming to Atlanta. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THIS AMAZING FLUFF DREAM CALLED “FWA 2022” ALMOST DIDN’T HAPPEN!! Life can be unpredictable and sudden, and I believe only God knows what the end result will be. I believe in the power of Prayer, and that in the end things work out with the help from the man upstairs. When I received my 2nd Moderna Covid Vaccine on Fri April 15th, I thought it would be like the 1st Booster shot last November - headache and tiredness for a day or two. Well, by some luck event, I ended up getting Covid-19 (after two years of masking, washing hands all the time, etc) on Monday April 18th. I went into the office infected for two days, a bad move on my part. I thought it was reaction from the Moderna booster. On Tuesday April 19th, when things were not improving, after work I came home and took out an Antigen Covid test. Lo and Behold - A DARK POSITIVE!!! My Heart Sank… I had to call Peter at CWA and HR at AT&T in Dallas to report this. They said 14 days is the period, and with Furry Weekend Atlanta coming in 17 days!! I quarantined at home for 10 days as directed by L.A. County Dept. of Health - and not seeing friends and family hurt. I kept an eye on the calendar, could I get that negative by May 2nd, or I would have to cancel what was planned to be the biggest travel event of 2022 and attending a con that meant so much to me. Normies might not understand, but Furries do - Furry Conventions are much like a “Family Reunion” of sorts, where folks you primarily chat in social media or on the phone you get to meet in the flesh (or fake fur.) Imagine not seeing some of your friends for THREE years, due to the pandemic and subsequent Covid shutdowns, then the George Floyd protests that rocked our nation, along with the attempted coup by a former president. Furries were pent up, wanting to get back together and the energy was there when I attended BLFC ‘21 last October. It was a taste of the event that was yet to come. Further Confusion here in California got the big time shaft, forced to cancel just mere days before in mid January. That was like the lowest of low blows, as Omicron cases were on the rise due to the Holiday parties and partial unmasking in California. I still went up to San Jose to support the SJ Marriott and local businesses like Iguana’s. We had other Furries who kept their hotel rooms, and we had fun meets outside the SJCC and we had a larger Furmeet event with NorCal Furs at nearby San Jose State University. It was fun!! Still, not having thousands of Furries and not having an official con was not ignored. For me, two cons stand out for Joe Bear - FC and FWA. They’re both my favorite cons as FWA 2016 sucked me into The Fandom like a sponge, Joe Bear’s fursuit debut at FWA 2019 thanks to the amazing Eddie Bear - and then at FC 2020 with the “crowning touch” the Cal cap by Jess Looney that brought Joe Bear to full completion (think of Frosty the Snowman, with that Top Hat he’s Frosty, that magic touch.) As we approached May Day, I called my buddy in Atlanta Jose “Toad” and Hunter Williams “Monty” on possible cancellation as I was still receiving positive tests. The hotel was not so helpful, as neither Toad or Monty were on as primary, it was ME!! I didn’t want to have them lose out on their con experience - but God does amazing things!! On May 2nd, just one day before flying out, I got my first negative test in 14 days! I checked it again on the morning of May 3rd as I was getting my online boarding pass, got another negative!! L.A. County said after May 1 I was good, so the 13 days quarantine allowed me by the narrowest of windows to continue my trip to Atlanta. By the mercy of God, I was allowed to go. My Dad did take me to LAX, we both were masked and windows down in the car. I was allowed to keep my Camry at my parents house while I was in Georgia for a week. First Class on American Airlines was superb, got my first HOT meal on a flight in 10 years!! Beer and drinks galore. The flight attendant allowed me to take a beer glass with the American Eagle emblem on it, as I have a collection of United glassware. Nonstop, with no stops in Dallas or Houston (yay!!) Arrived in Atlanta early, but Toad had car trouble, so I waited for him outside baggage claim. He eventually picked me up, and drove to Gwinnett where we had dinner at Zaxbys and stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott. It rained like a monsoon that Tues night into Wed morning. On Wednesday May 4th, we drove to Downtown and the amazing Atlanta Marriott Marquis!! I was like a kid in a VW convertible, which I was!! Toad played Scorrow’s band I've Made Too Much Pasta / Raccoon albums and we were singing “Fists In the Air” in unison while spending in a convertible going 70 mph on I-85!! We arrived into the Marquis around 12 noon, as customary for us on ‘Day 0’ of FWA 2022. Furries were already congregating outside the valet and inside the lobby - this was like going to Disneyland, MY Fluffy Theme Park!! Why is FWA my favorite con? Have you been to the ATL Marriott Marquis? You need to check it out… this hotel is PERFECT for our con to grow and prosper, you can literally be 42 stories up and look down onto ALL con floors (Atrium, Lobby, Marquis) and they had watermarked lighting displayed all around. It gets better each year, and this year I believe they perfected it. It was nice to be back from last year, when the con was on line only and no in-person con (though we fursuited, the Normies ruled and I believe we had like only seven Furries?) The hotel was completely booked by Furries, as well as 25% taken at Hilton and 10% taken by Hyatt. FWA grew exponentially this year, and you felt it. We checked in to Room 3225, with an upgraded city view (Thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite) - Pamela Bronner who checked me in was a true Angel, and she ended up getting great pics of Joe Bear as the con went on all weekend!! She also gave Toad and Myself free fully cooked hot breakfast buffet ($30 a plate) daily for four days at Sear, and free access to the Bonvoy Executive Lounge on the 47th floor, with Starbucks machine, fresh fruit and unlimited Coca Cola products from cans of soda to bottles of desani water. The con itself was simply the BEST!! The main events area was nicely decked out in “Enchanted Forest” and all other rooms carried the theme well. The best part was seeing friends that I haven’t seen in years, and to finally fursuit for long periods of time was a goal realized. I felt FREE after being quarantined back home, I truly appreciated the freedom to do what I wanted to do!! I fursuited more this FWA than FC and BLFC COMBINED!! I really got so many hugs from attendees and just the excitement on their faces said it all. I know people were wanting this weekend to happen, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of it. FWA’s Fursuit Dance Competition was a hoot where many great Fursuiters danced away - Livid win the singles while my buddy Bemani Tiger win 1st place in the group fursuit dance category!! It was great to my see my good friends Tony Tenacious and Kyle Hicks again, and we did a lot of good stuff together. Seeing Eddie and Vixxity was awesome, and seeing my L.A. friend Reid Mathieu “Bodker” unveil his newest fursuit, a purple deer named “Halvard.” Another purple cutie finally came to FWA for the first time from San Francisco Bay Area, Zarafa giraffe!! It was cool going to furshoots with Zarafa and Kofu Lion who drove six hours from Raleigh NC to spend time with me and others!! I love all these folks with my heart!! Sunday was eventful with my Greymuzzle panel “Fur The Grey” with 30 attendees!! I was able to get more furshoots in with Sebai the Pepsi Cat and others - also got out of fursuit for a pool party with Tony and Kyle. The closing ceremonies was the most crowded I’ve ever witnessed in my 6 years attending FWA - and I LOVE the theme for 2023 “The Lost City.” I was able to mingle and catch up on longtime furs like Bissy Coon and Paco Panda!! I attended the Dead Dog Dabce in fursuit, seeing California take the stage with Kale The Deer and the most fun I’ve ever had at a Sunday night dance. It was electric, crowded and pure Heaven! I came out energized and forward looking after this weekend. And as I left Atlanta on Monday evening, I realized how close I was to cancellation just one week earlier. The power of Prayer works, and I believe in Jesus and what HE can do. I’m grateful for all those who were with me this year, I won’t tag names except for the ones already mentioned. I do want to thank two folks who were a big part of the success this year, Jessica Huffman-DeMaggio and Joline MacLeod. Thank you for your friendship, and kindness. Thanks to the staff and management of Atlanta Marriott Marquis for being there once again for us - Joe Bear will return for his 8th visit in 2023 for FWA “The Lost City!!” Bear Hugs - Joe G Bear…
I came to Atlanta for business and I met Pamela at the front desk who was very friendly helpful and a delight to work with. She set the tone for my stay and I was pleased with the room, amenities and the breakfast! I’m the hotel was very clean with nice updated modern touches. I will be back!
I think this may have been the best customer service thst I have ever experienced in a hotel. Pamela treated us with this extraordinary smile then took care of us as we were her family. She took her time and explained the hotel amenities without being burdensome. Pamela my dear, you should train for Marriott internationally. We reached the acme, the nadir, the pinnacle of experiences this weekend. Thank you Pamela for making our graduation weekend for our daughter at Spelman that much more special. Hats off to you my friend. Love you Pamela!!!
