My flight was delayed and I tried to check in at 3am. Was told their system was down and to take a seat, once the system is up, the front desk would come and grab me. She never came and grabbed me. I waited for an hr and walked up to the front desk and there was someone else there. Checked me in and didn’t say anything about their system being down. I have an am conference and the original lady left me waiting until 4am with no help. Terrible service on her part. I wish I caught her name.
The staff was fantastic during an extremely busy event! The event was well organized and signage was extremely helpful. Thank you Elizabeth Taylor for your assistance multiple times during my stay! Thank you!
Pamela at the front desk really impressed me with her incredible customer service. She gave wonderful restaurant recommendations and took care of our every need. She always had a smile on her face and made our days brighter each day she was here.
Have ALWAYS given Marriott's 5 stars but not this time. Front desk staff extremely rude and reluctant to help. Room dirty and no refrigerator as promised (needed for medical reason). Finally got room changed. Then toilet would not flush. Maintenance eventually came to room and said it was fixed. 5 minutes later...would not flush. No housekeeping during entire stay, even though requested daily.
We stayed on a Saturday. The lounge is apparently closed on Saturdays, and the nicer restaurant (Sear) is also closed, so only a bar menu was available... Not as comprehensive a service as would be appropriate for a large Marriott. Rooms were clean and nice, and staff were very pleasant.
Stayed here last year and it was a total disaster, and sadly, got stuck here again for work and not much has improved, downtown Atlanta is a mess, and homelessness is a major issue, you can’t really walk outside the hotel without someone panhandling. Inside, some areas of the hotel need a deep cleaning, I noticed trash that had been sitting out for 3 days in a row. Rooms need a total top to bottom renovation. Definitely not worth $300.00 a night and the crazy $50 a day parking fee.
When checking in, we were told valet was full and to find parking elsewhere. They wouldn’t even allow us to bring in luggage first. Very disappointed and management did not care! Especially paying $900+
Stayed here for a conference. It’s pretty standard conference type hotel. It’s massive. Possibly the largest hotel I’ve ever stayed I . It has an empire strikes back vibe on the inside. So that’s kinda cool. I was on the 24th floor and had a pretty nice view. The sports bar restaurant was ok. Totally fine but no reason to go back. Felt a little pricey for what you were getting- would definitely have not paid for it if it wasn’t for work. Generally pretty unremarkable except for its vast interior.
Nell and Jessica were attentive in the Club Lounge. Claudia M. is a true gem and possesses a passionate service heart. She was refreshingly genuine. Teika did a great job at the front desk and was very personable. I very much enjoyed the steak in Velocity. Jayson was my bartender. He was very nice. Lastly, I was provided a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The room was spacious, and clean. It had all the modern amenities I was looking for, including Smart TVs! All around, the Atlanta Marriott Marquis is awesome.
Hotel is nice and well maintained. Check in was fast and friendly. It is a large hotel with lots of rooms, but, the elevators are fast. The room was nice and bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, I had a couple of issues with during my stay: After I went to sleep, I awoke to the sound of somebody trying to get into my room. They tried several times. Eventually, I got up, opened the door to find a group of people trying to get in my room. The front desk had assigned my room to them (they showed me the key holder with my room number on it). Fortunately, I had flipped the “privacy” switch on the door so their key wouldn’t work. I went back to sleep. A little while later the in-room phone rang and woke me up again. It was some hotel manager asking who I was. I was not impressed after being woken up twice. He said he would give me a $30 credit. (I was complaining but hadn’t asked for anything. I was traveling on a business trip and so his credit only saved my company some money). In the morning I was in the bathroom preparing to get in the shower. I heard knocking on the door. I wrapped a towel around myself and said “Yes?” a couple of times but got no response. I just figured they were knocking on a nearby door. I got in the shower. After I got out of the shower, I put pants on and was shaving. I heard a knock on the door and then it opened! Fortunately, I had flipped the little metal device to keep people from easily getting in the room and it stopped the door from opening all the way. I slammed the door shut, flipped the metal device and opened the door. I was just wearing a pair of pants. There was a hotel security guy and a housekeeper standing there asking if I wanted my room cleaned!!! When I didn’t answer they decided to just come in, even though I had flipped the privacy switch on the door!!!! Scary. Later, as I left the room, the housekeeper approached and apologized. She explained that she was new and didn’t know what it meant when the lock flashed yellow. I accepted her apology and told her not to worry about it. Later in the day I was coming back to the room and she asked if I wanted my room cleaned. She said she had been afraid to knock after what had happened that morning! I had genuinely accepted her apology and left her a nice tip at the end of my stay. It is unfortunate that she was not properly trained. However, I am not impressed with the hotel’s “security” guy. He should have known better than to just open my door. His key obviously has special rights that allow it to open “locked” doors with the privacy switch flipped. Obviously, he has not been properly trained or just chose to abuse his authority and position of trust. When I checked out, the actual credit was $35, it felt like a meaningless token gesture.…
