The Ritz is a lovely hotel in a great location in downtown Atlanta. The rooms are nice and beds comfy. They need to work on customer service and satisfaction. It seems as if they could honor simple requests, like a higher floor for a better view to make the customer happy. Especially when it's not a busy night at the hotel. However, many staff members were friendly.

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! The service is TERRIBLE. The dinner at the steakhouse is average. The southern hospitality is nowhere to be found. The hotel rooms are clean but they don’t have cotton, cute tips and other items. The internet speed is limited to 2MG per sec which is the speed we all had 10 years ago. Good luck keeping a work video conference on google meet or zoom. Over several video meetings the video or the sound kept on dropping. The hostesses at the steakhouse (both for the evening shift and the midday shift) were both unfriendly and unhelpful. The lady at night was very frazzled and clearly unhappy that we arrived at 9.45pm. When asked for her recommendation we got :”whatever you would like to eat” on a tone. The waiter was cold at first but we were super nice with him and he warmed up and became more friendly and helpful for example just for a refill of Diet Coke or some small attention. But this was still the very minimum to be expected. We were shocked to realize that the service at Hooters was SIGNIFICANTLY more professional, attentive and friendly. Despite having a 4pm check out and the privacy sign on the door as I still had a work call, house keeping knocked and entered twice in the room between 3.30 and 4pm. The windows need a good wash. There is a thick layer of dust on them. Room were clean, beds comfortable, cheap water is provide and expensive water is for sale in the room. No pens available. The valet when we first arrived were useless and didn’t even move a finger on Thursday night. Then on Saturday we clearly showed the cash and then we had 3 people just to get into a car. Very much a let down.

I’ve stayed at Ritz Carlton hotels around the world…and this is the worst by far! Front desk staff was rude, didn’t acknowledge my Titanium Elite status, didn’t offer any benefits or describe any amenities at the hotel (turns out there aren’t really any). It was 11pm, I’d be traveling all day, and starving - asked if there was food on property, he said everything was closed. Asked what was good around, he said nothing was open. He suggested Uber Eats, I asked who to order from, he said he didn’t know. Then when my food finally arrived, the front desk refused to bring me my food - I asked the front desk what services they provided to guests and one of the examples was bringing in your bags…but apparently not if there’s food in it. Rest of the hotel is just average at best, no amenities, rooms are small/old, bathrooms are average - just not a quality hotel at all.

Our stay was disappointing though there were some good things which I will mention first. The doormen and valet people were excellent and attentive. Housekeeping also did a nice job cleaning one time and my request for a sewing kit was promptly fulfilled. The bathroom in the standard king was also nice and the shower had good water pressure which I always appreciate. The gym was spacious and had a separate studio so I could do my workout there away from other people. The bed was comfy with nice sheets and pillows. The decor in the room, however, was really drabby (grey everything) with unattractive furniture. It does not feel like a five star hotel at all. The room service meal took over an hour and my pizza was limp and undercooked. A Trader Joe’s pizza would have been tastier, sadly. The coffee place where you can get a breakfast sandwich, pastries abs fruit cup were just ok and the wait was at least 15 minutes. The location of the hotel is kind of a wasteland with nothing interesting or attractive nearby (including other dining options) so unless you need to be near there I certainly wouldn’t stay there. Also, no turndown service or robes. Bottom line: it’s not really a “luxury” hotel.

I’ve stayed in Rittz hotels in other cities and they have generally been very nice. This one feels much more like a low level chain hotel. There was no bellhop service. The restaurant is really poor quality and the food takes forever to come. There are no “do not disturb“ signs for the doors, so I was awakened repeatedly by the staff knocking on the door to come for housekeeping. The tub is crummy contractor grade, that look like something you would find in a rental apartment. The decor looks like it’s from Target and the wallpaper is made of vinyl. The woman at the front desk misspelled the wifi password so I had to call downstairs for it. It’s not really a “grand” style property with beautiful interior spaces. Just a total miss all around.
