My husband and I were on our way home after a long road trip and we were looking forward to our stop for the night at the Ritz. I had been in contact with Shani at the front desk about nearby restaurants. She was so kind and helpful. The trip took a turn when I took a tumble at a rest stop before arriving. After a brief conversation with Shani they made my arrival a breeze. They had a wheelchair there waiting. They brought ice to the room and there was a mug filled with chocolates and tea to make me feel better along with a card signed by everyone on duty!! It made me feel so welcome and special. Our stay was perfect and the same care was shared for our check out process. Amazing service!!

I recently traveled to Atlanta on business and made the mistake of booking at the Atlanta Ritz Carlton. I have stayed in many Ritz’s across the United States and Caribbean and have always enjoyed top notch service and facilities during those stays. Ritz Carlton Atlanta did not rise to even the most meager of expectations. Pulling into the valet I was met with a view of a garbage strewn abandoned parking lot across the street. The valet personnel were nice but I immediately noticed that the hotel did not have the appearance of any of their other locations that I have visited. Overall the hotel is not an impressive property and the valet area and lobby could be found in any downtown hotel. Overall appearance is worn and dirty. Check in was fine and was told that I had been upgraded to a room with a “Deluxe City View”. I was grateful and was still willing to give the hotel a chance. Upon arrival at my room I found it to be unimpressive. The “Deluxe City View” was that same garbage strewn parking lot and the back side of some other dingy downtown buildings and Grady hospital. The gym was good, well equipped and empty. Both days that I came down to the valet at 630 to go to work I was met by people sitting along the seating area smoking pot. I would never bring my family here. I will also never be back either. I cut my stay short and moved to the AC Hotel at Phipps Plaza. It’s clean, new, cheaper and located in a safe area with lots of shopping and eating options. This should not be a Ritz Carlton property. The downtown area of Atlanta is atrocious and not one in which I would venture out into after dark for dinner or drinks. It’s worth the 10 minutes added to my drive in the morning to not be at that hotel or in the downtown area. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We just got home from a 3 night stay at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta. The hotel is wonderful and the staff is fantastic. The rooms were some some of the best we have stayed in for a city hotel. They were recently remodeled and have a great shower and many features. Unfortunately some of the clientele there didn’t follow any Covid rules and didn’t wear a mask in common areas. On our floor you could smell pot smoke and cigarettes all day. We are not use to that when we travel. We choose the Ritz to stay away from all of that. Some of the guests were extremely loud and didn’t care for other guests privacy. Also the surrounding area of the hotel is not safe at all. We usually love to walk the area when we visit and we simply could not do that. There were a ton of homeless and sketchy people around the hotel. Other areas of Atlanta were so nice.....the BeltLine area, Decatur etc. Again this is no fault of the Ritz, just giving a heads up. However the hotel can do something to keep guests from smoking pot ,enforce wearing a mask and being loud. I must say that I never felt so uncomfortable leaving the hotel as we did this weekend. Thankfully we had a car to visit sights etc. If we had to visit the area again, we would chose to stay in Buckhead or other area away from downtown.

First, let me say that the staff is super. But that's honestly all I can really give this place. I've stayed in many Ritz's, but this was pretty underwhelming. The facility isn't elaborate and nice, like other ones. The room was clean, but not impressive. There were no robes, and the mini fridge was literally locked. They claimed this was all due to COVID, but I had just stayed at another Georgia Ritz, and that was simply not the case. I also stayed at the Atlanta St. Regis a couple of weeks later, and though their mini fridge was empty, it was not locked, and you could request the items be placed back inside. These "COVID" rules seem to only apply to the Ritz-Carlton ATL - conveniently. Room service was so weird. Everything was brought up in to-go plastic, in brown, paper bags. They also claim this is due to COVID regulations, but ... same story. It's simply, only them. Staying at The St. Regis in Buckhead a couple of weeks later, restored my faith in Atlanta's luxury hotels. But If you really want to stay at a nice Ritz, head down to Lake Oconee. They'll even have a robe waiting on you in the room.

Just had a nice stay. Check-in is totally contactless; they even have the machine that codes your key on your side of the plastic and you get to code it. Hand sanitizer stations are by the elevators on every floor. In the room, there are no desk accessories or regular glassware, but as is typically R-C, even the paper cups were extra nice. I wasn't sure about availability of the bar, so I brought my own wine, and I just asked for glasses to be delivered to my room--they were, within 15 minutes. The rooms have all been recently renovated, and it's a nice touch that there's a sofa in the bay window. The sheets and bedding are fab as always and the beds are over the top comfortable. Do be aware that the full-service restaurant (AG) is not currently open, nor is the Club Louge, and room service is only operating based on occupancy and demand; I found that it wasn't available this morning, but the coffee bar at least was, and the explanation that they are trying to ensure that guests have at least one choice certainly made sense. This has been my favorite hotel in Atlanta for 23 years and counting. They continue to be a comfortable place to call home when I'm in town.
