I was here on a business trip in February 2023. The room was clean and the TV and internet connection worked well. However, the in-room safe was on the top shelf of the closet (not easy to reach, luckily I was tall enough), and the thermostat was also high on the wall (and did not respond well). The shower worked well in terms of water pressure. There are 2 towers for the hotel, and I was in the tower closest to the Convention Center (other people had longer walks).
Recently stayed at the Omni attending a conference in the GWCC. My room was on the 26th floor which was perfectly fine but the elevators could be slow at times. My room was fine with two double beds and chair and ottoman and desk area. I'm thinking updates to the rooms are in order but nothing that would stop me from staying here again. I liked having the Keurig to make coffee and a small refrigerator. The maid service was great and the staff I encountered were all good.
The last time I stayed at the Omni CNN Center for a conference was in 2020. It wasn’t great then but has seriously declined since. The first thing I noticed is that Downtown Atlanta is like a ghost town. CNN has relocated so the tower and food court is empty. My initial complaint is about the elevator banks which are difficult to navigate since there are separate elevators for meeting rooms vs guest rooms. The bigger issue is that several elevators were out of service during my stay so there were lines of guests and staff waiting. Eventually I started taking the stairs. As for the rooms in the North Tower, they are extremely dated and actually kind of gross (see pics). The staff at this property from front desk to cleaning staff are sub-par. Nobody greets you and everyone looks miserable. Next time I will stay in Midtown and Uber to the convention center.…
The hotel staff was friendly but when it came to knowing about promotions direct from Omni website was a little clueless. I had to end up reaching out to the property loyalty ambassador Brannie Turner to get my promotion and she was great, responsive and handled business professionally. She made the stay A+. The room was beautiful Governor Suite nice well appointed. The property had great restaurants and has beautiful views of Downtown Atlanta. I would recommend the hotel chain and definitely stay again.
Overall amazing experience! Vincent was excellent at check in and helped us arrange for dinner. Great stay with great people! Highly recommend the hotel and the Top Deck Sports Bar. Great customer service all the way around and Convenient to everything downtown.
We had terrible customer service at the Omni Hotel Atlanta. I mean it was just terrible. We paid $800/night to be treated worse than had we stayed at a motor coach lodge. I take this very seriously being franchisee of Hilton, IHG and Marriott. I would personally reprimand any GM that had such a sloppy, disorganized, and non-customer friendly hotel. I called the GM myself, to share the poor experiences with him and he did not even have the courtesy or professionalism to call me back. The night before the bowl game and the bar only three staff members working, the POS system was either broken or not working and it took 25 minutes to a get a beverage. In the age of post Covid, the restrooms had no soap or broken soap dispensers and no towels. The New South Restaurant had a limited lunch menu of just three items. We ordered a Bloody Mary that got scratched because they were out of Bloody Mary mix, then ordered a vodka cranberry but scratched that because they were out of cranberry juice and couldn’t even get refills on my diet soda. To make it worse, after we sat there for an hour and ten minutes, Donita, the server, informed us the restaurant was out of hamburgers so we would have to order a different item. How can you only have three items on a menu, run out and then make the customers sit there for an hour before letting them know? Instead of buying lunch, we got comped two beers and left mad. We were paying $800 per night to be treated worse than at a fast food restaurant. After that debacle, we went down the hall to Draft Sports Lounge to watch football. It busy, loud and crowded as you would imagine. I asked the GM if he would turn the sound up so the game could be heard. He said he gladly would turn the sound up but was unable because the system was broken. He encouraged us to listen to the game on our phone with the ESPN app. $800 per night and we have to bring our own entertainment to the sports bar. Who pays $800/night to be treated like that? …
I came here on business. Before arriving, staff initially mishandled my inquiries about a private place to pump my breastmilk after checking out from my room and while my meetings were still in session. They suggested the bathroom and the lobby. Unless the Omni’s standard practice is to prepare food in the same places where people urinate and defecate, I’m not certain why the bathroom is being suggested as a place to pump food for infants. This is unacceptable for a large hotel. I stood my ground and the staff offered to extend my room checkout “as a one time courtesy” (making clear what an immense favor they were bestowing upon me) so I could pump there. This worked as an individual-level solution, even if it made poor business sense, as instead that room could have been given to a new guest who was actually paying for that night, but I digress. It was certainly not an institutional-level solution to this issue. Women who need to pump at the hotel should be directed to a private and comfortable space, with a seat/chair, a functional outlet, and a sink/sanitizing area. Eventually, it worked out in my individual situation and I was able to take home all of my pumped milk cold, but for newer or first time moms who might not be as steadfast about demanding an appropriate solution, it’s up to the Omni to figure out whether or not they want to be known as a traveling mother-friendly hotel moving forward. I encourage the Omni to use this as a learning experience, develop a long term solution, whether that be contracting with Mamava to bring in a portable pumping pod, or something else. I won’t be staying here if I don’t have to in the future. Additionally, one of the elevators was also consistently broken over the course of multiple days, with no “out of order sign.” Seeing other reviews, it seems this is an ongoing issue that maybe isn’t seen as an issue anymore by the hotel because of how persistent it is.…
The hotel is a nice location. Connected to state farm arena, so it was easy commute for a concert that I attended. The good: Good location Valet was easy in and easy out Lots of elevators The not as enjoyable: I felt nickled and dimed the whole trip. From the emails at reservation letting me know I could get a later check out for $100 (among other overpriced add ons) to the room internet telling me I could choose the free internet or the $4.95 internet. I was in a luxury suite, I would think they could toss in some premium internet. The basic worked just fine though. The valet parking is $55 or $60 for oversized. I have never had to pay oversized for a pick up truck with a 5 foot bed before. It was just a tacoma so I was surprised it was oversized. It felt like everything was constantly an add on, all the time. The new sports bar- great. The staff was excellent and it was a lot of fun. Vue gets pretty crowded sometimes, so it was nice to see the addition of a second outlet.…
Not the place it was a few years ago. With CNN moving, they aren't putting any money into maintenence. They wanted to charge $800 to add a second night (paid $300 for the Friday night). Our bathroom toilet didn't work. Called maintenence. They came and said it was fixed in 5 minutes. I walked in 5 minutes after he left and found a fflood. I was in for a show at State Farm arena and they couldn't get us moved in time and said they'd have a new room all ready when we returned. I got several text messages while at the show asking me about my satisfaction with the repair. I had to keep texting I needed to move rooms and again reassures a quick stop at the desk and I'd be all set. 20 minutes after I arrived at the desk, they figured out a room (said it would be a much better room - it was smaller and lower floor so no). I had to remind them not to cancel my old key until I got all our things. Another 10 minutes fixing that. I've stayed here numerous times over the last 15 years, I won't be returning. …
This is a different kind of review, as I was not an overnight guest at The Omni. I was in town (staying at a different hotel) to attend The College Football Playoff game on New Year’s Eve. We were looking for a place to gather and watch the Michigan game on tv before we headed to the stadium. We knew that a lot of Ohio St fans were at the Omni, so we headed there. Once inside, we found hundreds of friends 😁 already there. Remote bars were set up, in addition to the permanent ones. There was a huge lobby space with TVs all along the wall, with comfortable furniture available for seating. The crowd was huge, with I’m certain, many others there who were not hotel guests. The staff was AMAZING! Restroom attendants kept everything clean, and it certainly did not resemble most pre-game situations, if you know what I mean. The young men who were picking up empty cans and bottles in the lobby, were incredibly polite and worked so hard. The staff at both the permanent bar, and the temporary bars were working so hard, I’m certain they could not take a second for a deep breath, but served with a smile. I’ve stayed at Omni properties before, and have always been pleased. But my experience here, as a non-guest was above and beyond. Management, I did call to express my thanks to your staff, and I hope that they were conveyed to your exemplary employees! Now if only they could have done something about the outcome of the game…😉…
