This hotel is definitely not as advertised. I’ve been a TA reviewer for years and I’m thinking that these must be false reviews to bait people into staying here! This is NOT a brand new hotel, it’s a not so recently renovated “motel.” They closed in the hallways but left the windows. The interior hallways smelled like armpits. The rooms were filthy and the entire property poorly maintained. See attached photos. On top of that, the guests in the room next to ours were having a loud party, blasting music on the balcony until 2 a.m. We called and complained but it wasn’t taken care of promptly. We had two rooms and had to move our daughter to our room so she could get some sleep. We were weary travelers looking for rest after a 12 hour drive, so this hotel was such a disappointment. No food or restaurant available so we had to wait a long time for Uber eats. This place was actually advertised on Priceline as a 4 star! What a joke! We barely got any sleep as we had to get back on the road at 5:30 a.m.

Hotel's Favorite
We live in Atlanta and travel quite a bit. Since traffic in Atlanta is so unpredictable we always book a room the night before our flight. They also offer on site parking while we are out of town. It’s very affordable and they have shuttle service to and from the airport. The rooms are nice, and they have a restaurant and a bar. Plus other food options within walking distance. The front staff is very efficient and very friendly. The shuttle drivers are also very friendly. However the “Shining Star” of our stay this time was Sola in the restaurant. She greeted us with a wonderful “good morning” and nice big smile. She made sure we had everything we needed and gave my husband a “to go” cup of coffee before he could make the request. Sola gave us a nice “Southern Start” to our day :)

I mostly enjoyed staying at Holiday Inn at other locations, but unfortunately, this particular location was not one of those. I needed a hotel nearby ATL airport for a short stay before transit the flight. I chose Holiday Inn ATL airport North. The reception desk told me there is a shuttle at every 30 minutes, so I stood at the shuttle stop no. 13. When I called the hotel first time, a lady at the reception, said driver was leaving. I expected 10 minute-waiting because the hotel is only 2.5 mile away from the airport. After 20 minutes, I was still standing, so I called the hotel again. The same lady said, the driver called her and said taking 8-9minutes delay. Ok, I waited at the same spot that the lady directed me to. Another 20 minutes later, shuttle still did not arrive. I called the hotel again, and the same lady said the driver already came to the airport to drop off customers, but the driver stopped by the gas station to fill the fuel. Finally, the shuttle arrived 5 minutes after I hung up the phone with the hotel. The driver insisted that he came to the stop minutes ago, and I was the one who missed shuttle. Did I really miss the shuttle? I don’t think I could’ve missed the shuttle, but maybe..? For an hour standing at the shuttle stop, it was not much crowded due to reduced travelers amid pandemic. There were only a few shuttle buses came and went, so it is still a mystery if I really missed the shuttle in front of my eyes. In fact, while I was standing at the shuttle stop, I saw 3 times of Westin and Mariott hotel shuttles, and 2 times of most of shuttles including Holiday Inn Airport South. (There are two locations of Holiday Inn, one in South, the other in North. They don’t share the shuttle.) The driver also said, he didn’t hear that I was waiting for him at the shuttle stop. When I arrived at the hotel, there was the reception lady, who received my 3 times of phone calls about complaining that I was standing at the shuttle stop for an hour. She knew it was me because the shuttle driver rode me alone. Maybe it was too much to expect the reception lady’s apologetic gesture although she knew I was standing at the shuttle stop for an hour regardless who’s fault. She seems like just business to check in the customer. Not welcoming or not sympathetic, or friendly, but just neutral. Ok, it’s fine. I was not in the mood to talk to her, either after exhausting travel and waiting. Then, I asked her for complimentary bottled water. She said it’s only for higher level membership. Really? I’ve always had complimentary bottled water at other locations as Club Membership. Is it Atlanta thing or this particular hotel? It’s possible that this hotel has a different policy, though. I was disappointed again. Although it’s the policy, only a bottle of water could’ve been a kind gesture to sooth the customer’s mind after the shuttle bus issues. I started to regret my decision to stay at this hotel. She gave me a room on the 5F in Concourse B. I had one big luggage and a carry on with extra packed meal on my two hands. From the reception desk to the elevator, it took me a few minutes. Especially, it was not easy to roll my luggage on the carpet, then elevator was almost at the end of the hall way. Finally, I took the elevator, then I found my room was another end of the long hallway. I was wondering why this hotel chose this type of carpet that make rolling the luggage so heavy and difficult. I have pretty new luggages with 4 side wheels. They are normally sliding smoothly, but not on this hotel’s carpet. Then, the hallway on both 1st fioor and 5th floor seemed not cleaned. There were lots of dusts/white pieces of something all on the carpet. The room I came seems just ok. Furnitures seem new, but doors had minor damages, and there were debris on the carpet, again.. Bathroom was smaller than other Holiday Inn that I’ve been. Telephone was old with scratches and marks of pens. I wanted to see the menu of room service, but couldn’t find any menu or information about it. I’m leaving tomorrow at 5:30am. I’ll miss the comp breakfast. Wish Holiday Inn provide something alternative for the early leaving customer for the future? At 9:47pm, I got a phone call from the reception that if I see an Ipad in the room. She said, the guest who stayed earlier, might’ve left her iPad in my room. Seriously? If the guest left anything in the room, isn’t it checked by the maintenance/cleaning people as soon as the guest leave? Well, it was ok to double check, but I still felt it was a bit strange. Overall, it is unfortunate that this seems not my favorite stay. I’m not sure if I ever want to stay at Holyday Inn, again.

I was there with my husband, daughter, grandson and niece for my grandson's acting class. The customer service was AMAZING! At checking in we were greeted by Timeka at the front desk. She was awesome! She made my daughter and I feel like we were at home. I give the front desk service two thumbs up!!! Would highly recommend this hotel!!! Check it out if you're ever coming to Atlanta!
