I absolutely love this place! It is beyond charming and exudes the most positive energy. It is my favorite place to be. I simply adore Pirate the cat and miss him very much. He made our stay so much fun by hanging out with us throughout our stay. I will be returning to Atlanta in the near future just to return to the Highland Inn for the incredible ambience and hang out with Pirate.

We absolutely love this sweet little inn in the heart of the Poncey Highlands neighborhood. Our room was just precious, the beds were comfy, and it is just a neat experience at a very reasonable price. We loved seeing Pirate. The connecting coffee shop has yummy breakfasts. I hope this place never changes. I’m thankful places like this still exist. If you want a clinical and typical hotel experience, go to the Hampton Inn.

Charming and quaint were the reviews. The furniture is a mismatch of badly worn used furniture store finds that makes one think of a run down boarding house.. It does not look anything like the photos on their website. They neglected to tell us that if we closed the door to our bedroom suite that the bedroom in the front receives no heat. The bathroom which has a tall step up say more than 8",has more cracks in the tile and grout than i can count, not to mention the 2 bolts sticking in to the shower. Shall i mention the very unsanitary plunger under the pedestal sink?. there is no counter for the bathroom for you to rest your toiletries, or a hook to hang your robe. The closet in the second bedroom has been taken over by a mini fridge, microwave and castaway base cabinet from another kitchen and they have not provided any other area to hang your clothes.Fortunately there was another pedestal sink next to the stove, but alas no mirror so you still had to wait to use the bathroom in the front of the room.I could go on but you get the picture. the front desk is of little help as everyone sits buried with headphones on and could care less about customer service. This could be an exceptional property with the right management and maintenance. unfortunately there is no TLC here and it shows.

Mid-week stay to attend a music performance in L5P. Great location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Parking not an issue and very safe to walk around. Great little diner around the corner for after-show food!

We stayed at the Highland Inn last week after a concert, and we were very happy with the experience. The Inn is convenient to a lot of great restaurants, and it is not a long Lyft ride to the Variety Playhouse, where we saw the concert. The room was small and cozy. You can tell that the Inn is in an old building from the condition of the ceilings and walls. Don't get me wrong, everything is in good repair, but it is clear that a lot of things have been repaired. I went to the restaurant next door to get breakfast for me and my wife, and I was pleased to find that the hotel stay includes complimentary coffee and a muffin. I went ahead and ordered bacon and eggs with toast and jam, and everything was great. My wife especially liked the sourdough toast. The restaurant offers a 15% discount for hotel guests, so that was another plus. Parking is convenient, right next to the hotel. There isn't a parking lot attendant, and I didn't see any cameras. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. One negative for our stay was that the TV in the room did not work. Since we were only there briefly, it wasn't a big deal, but we reported it when we checked out. I will add a word of caution: it didn't look like there was any accommodation for wheelchairs. There are only steps leading into the main entrance, and I don't think there is an alternative entrance available for people who need that kind of thing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely consider going back if we need a room in the area. One last note about the Highland Inn: if you are lucky, you may get to see the resident cat, whose name is Pirate. I saw him, but of course, he ran away because I was a stranger.
