Detailed Reviews
This motel is very convenient to Emory University, and that was important to us. The room was quite dated (we were hoping for more 'charm') but the bedding and linens were clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast options left a lot to be desired, but understandable given the Covid situation. The ice machine appears permanently out of service, though the staff happily provided ice when we asked. The individual HVAC unit was difficult to adjust but acted as 'white noise' which actually helped due to the location directly on a moderately busy road. Overall, the traffic noise situation was better than most options we've encountered near the Interstates.
Considering the amenities and tired decor, the Inn is overpriced, Nevertheless, it is an extremely convenient location (a moderate walk to several casual restaurants), so if you're looking for something away from the fast-paced Interstates, this is a viable option.

We enjoyed the spacious room. The breakfast included hardboiled eggs, bananas, and yogurt as well as the usual cereals and breads. The location was convenient for our personal reasons of going to a funeral and visiting people who lived nearby.

Customer service upon my arrival was very pleasant. Facility is relatively simplistic in design, but can be confusing. I think the "Grab and Go" option for breakfast is an amazing idea amidst the current state of pandemic. Room did smell moist, but I'm sure it was because of the unit that was running. My stay was shorter than expected and the fee was honored, much appreciation for that.

For the price this is a rip off. You are paying such inflated prices and the only benefit is convenience. Most of the people staying here have loved ones in the hospital and the owners know this. There is no room service, the rooms are so outdated, and at the price charged, you would think that there would be money to improve. Sad side of vulture capitalism.

We so regret that we did not meet your expectations. As to the price you booked through an online 3rd party site that has very high add-on fees. We don't even get all the money you paid to the online 3rd party site. We have cheaper rates and possible discounts that we offer to directly booked reservations either by phone direct to the hotel or through our website. Yes we serve a lot of hospital related visitors who get discounts when they book direct with us. Due to Covid19, there is no daily room service to keep both our staff and guests safe. We have a no contact system set up to replace towels and provide other amenities on request. We are here to serve our guests and work together to get through this new normal we have with Covid19. We are planning on updating rooms in the future, and have had some already planned. Unfortunately, there are many delays as with any other business due to the supply chain shortages and lack of people to do the work. Again, we are sorry that we did not meet your expectations.

A family member had surgery at Emory and we needed to be close by. The Inn is about 2 minutes from the hospital and getting back and forth is really easy. The rate for patients/family is lower than the other rates (even lower than AAA) and very affordable. Lower than all other hotels nearby.
It's an older hotel and does not have all the flashy amenities but we weren't there for vacation and the room was HUGE. They accommodated us with a ground floor room, the hotel was quiet and we felt safe. The staff was friendly and they had a grab-n-go breakfast.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, including coming right away at 1:00 a.m. when the door key would not work. Besides the reception area, this has more the feel of a motel than an inn. It is convenient to Emory University and hospitals. The rooms are large and decent. The breakfast during covid is reasonable. Unfortunately, it feels like they are allowing the place to run down. We stayed multiple nights and the practice under covid only to clean rooms if requested is understandable. The problem is that the room in general could be cleaner on arrival. The other problem is that when we asked for cleaning, no one came. We were only given clean towels. This included after we notified the front desk of mold on a wall. Still, no one came to clean. It is a shame to let what could be a charming, convenient lodging decline.

We are sorry that you had the experience you described. We do not clean rooms due to COVID during a guests stay other than something urgent. Mold is urgent! We should have responded to that as quickly as possible. Management would like to explore this more but would need to know which room was involved. We would appreciate your contacting us directly to provide that information at Manager@UnivInn.com. We only will use the information to address training and correction of staff. Your feedback is taken very seriously and is highly valuable to us. Thank you for staying with us.

Convenient location to EUH. Place is clean. Room is large. Bed is comfortable. Linens are clean and stain free. Front desk staff are all helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping service personnel are very helpful with linens and exchanges. The director strives to provide the best accommodation possible and very flexible with my length of stay. The best part, they priorities client safety at all cost.

This is a beautifully clean, quiet, and safe place that I have stayed at many times. My husband was at Emory for 4 months receiving a heart transplant and recovering from a stroke. The location couldn't be better and I felt safer and more comfortable here than in big name hotels I've stayed in. The room furniture is clean and comfortable. They do have a washer and dryer in an outside hallway. They are not much to look at, but they work well. Every member of the staff has been very pleasant and helpful, especially Mortine. She was more than gracious with working with me as discharge dates kept changing. The ADA room is like a mini apartment including a kitchenette and there were no problems getting around each area with a wheelchair. The only downside is the bathtub. They provide a shower chair upon request, but with my husband's partial paralysis, we were unable to get into the tub. It would be great to have a walk-in shower in one of the rooms for better disabled person access.

We stayed three nights. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable. Our stay was because of surgery at Emory Hospital for a family member. It was very convenient to be so close. We requested a room with a kitchen and were pleased that we were able to reserve one. Suggestions I have regarding the kitchen: Bring your own dishwasher detergent or dish detergent since none were furnished. Bring disposable bowls if you want to have soup or cereal, as there were only two very small custard cups. There were only two cups and four plates. Bringing paper plates and plastic cutlery. There was only one table knife, one dish cloth. The amenities for the room were sparse, as well: only one bar of soap to share with the sink and shower. There was a tiny one-use bottle of shampoo and lotion with maybe two teaspoons of contents. Tere were two sets of towels. They are replaced by asking for more at the desk. You have to ask for a bag to collect the used towels. You have to empty your own trash. I would have been more prepared if I had known all of this beforehand. I am not saying I would not stay there again but would bring more supplies. I hope this helps someone else.

Thank you for your review, and thank you for your suggestions. You should have had dish liquid and dishwasher detergent. The front desk can arrange for more if you need that, as well as shampoo and soap, etc. There are bowls, plastic utensils and cups in the lobby if you did not have enough in your room. When you return we can make sure all of these things are available to you. Let us know what you need and we will make sure it is available. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you.

Our stay included two rooms based around a family member's hospital stay at Emory University Hospital. During our stay we needed to extend it for another day because of a change in the discharge from the hospital. The staff were very accommodating in extending our stay at the last minute for both rooms without having to change rooms! Since we were unable to access the hospital due to COVID19, we spent a lot of time in our rooms. We had the room with a full kitchen which was perfect for our circumstances. The beds were comfortable. Anything that was needed, the staff responded very quickly. We would visit the Inn again in hopes our stay would not be hospital oriented! The location is perfect in all directions to enjoy restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc!
