I stayed at the Ellis this passed weekend and the valet was absolutely amazing. I just want to thank Amandae and Diallo for all their help. They helped with our bags and gave us great directions and options of food places to try.
I stayed here with 2 friends for a girls weekend in May. The pictures online do not depict the actuality of this hotel. From the moment you enter the lobby, the hotel appears rundown and in definite need of a facelift. The lobby is small, there is a very limited bar/Starbucks that had extremely limited opening hours. Upon check in, the staff did not appear well aquatinted with Marriott Bonvoy benefits. I had to pull up online my checkin options. Once I showed it to them, they were happy to honor it. The room itself was a huge disappointment. It was very shabby, with frayed edges on the bedspread and well worn furniture and fixtures. Our carpet was wet, like it had a leak underneath. It was very unpleasant to walk on. I was embarrassed that I had suggested this hotel for our getaway. However, there were some big pluses. The staff was very pleasant and really wanted to make things right, but there were fundamental problems beyond their ability. The beds were extremely comfortable, and something rare in a hotel room- the temperature of the room was excellent and easy to change. One last note- although there were many bars and restaurants nearby, the area did not feel particularly safe at night. There was a large homeless population that was fairly aggressive in asking for handouts. On Saturday night there was several hours that cars would cruise in front of the hotel and rev their engines. It was hard to sleep before midnight. Given these issues, it’s hard to recommend this hotel…
Very disappointing. Old, noisy, rude or ignorant staff and zero adherence to Marriott Bonvoy guest benefits. 1) housekeeping cant wait to push you out ignoring “do not disturb sign” (before confirmed checkout time). Simple walking into the room. Not even an apology 2) Hotel denied complementary breakfast for Bonvoy Titantium Elite guest arguing it has “no restaurant” even so during online checkin it was explicitly stated “change points for breakfast” when physically checking in. 3) Marriott cash voucher not applied for payment even so front desk confirmed twice it will 4) old style Hotel and pretty noisy inside and from traffic/streetcar outside 5) positive - comfortable bed and shower Nevertheless no go. Marriott affiliation is getting more and more s reason to avoid Hotels
Staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The hotel is pet friendly and we brought our small dog. We were concerned that she might bother other guests as she’ll bark when we first leave her alone. Rahul and LaShawn not only changed our rooms to be a corner room, but LaShawn also went and checked on our dog while we were gone, which she had kindly offered to do. They were the BEST! The room was great, not a far walk to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and we were pleased with the accommodations. But the staff will keep me coming back!!
The card reader declined my credit card and reported an error. I tried two credit cards of mine and two of my wife. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. I asked her to type in the credit card number but she did not really try and told me my bank would deny payment. She said she cannot check me in if I don‘t offer another payment method and Apple pay they do not accept. We are talking about a PREPAID booking!!! She offered to cancel my PREPAID booking at 6pm which is very disrespectful against a guest who arrived after a 6 hour travel in the evening. Her colleague took over and everything was possible. He typed in the credit card number manually, my bank accepted the deposit and there was no problem at all. I cannot understand how such a person is allowed to work at the front desk which should represent a hotel‘s hospidality…
Meisha and Shamika, who work at the front desk, were super-helpful when I had to deal with an unexpected personal situation. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I appreciate their assistance.
This was my 1st trip since 2019. I was so anxious about traveling. From the airplane to the hotel I was soooo nervous. And also it being my 4 year olds 1st trip ever! All I knew was EVERYTHING needed to be perfect! I honestly didn't really look at the rooms online. Lol And I KNEW it had to be suitable, or my grandma would have KILLED me! Lol She left the hotel accommodations up to me due to my supervisor position at The Courtyard Marriott Downtown Rochester, New York. 1st and foremost! The room had 2 beds AND a sofa bed pull out that was hugee! All five of us slept so comfortable. The showers were beautiful with nice modern fixtures. There was a fridge we stored all our leftover food in. Lol In which we took FULL advantage of the food in ATL. Also the location was EVERYTHING!! We literally walked around the area for entertainment. The longest we traveled to a restaurant was about a 10-15 drive. Most areas were only about a 5min drive. And from the airport it was only a 10 min drive. The staff was REMARKABLE!! Abyaan was my absolute favorite! Everyday she greeted us and chatted with us like we were old time friends. Lol She made our experience so pleasant. She rescued the night by grabbing some ketchup for my daughter who refused to eat without it. Then there was valet oh my gosh! I swear everyday was so efficient they never missed a day to make sure our car was safe and on time for traveling. Amaedone, Desmond, and Levante thank you for taking the stress off our hands with parking. And also just being so nice and attentive. Also last but not least MEISHA!! Thank youuuuuu so much for allowing me to pick your brain with thousands of questions before we arrived. Lol I swear I was so anxious but you eased my mind so much before I arrived. Also this hotel being pet friendly we made a furry friend by the name of King. A beautiful Rottweiler my daughter was crazy about. He was so friendly and made us feel at home. Thank you again for all of your hard work. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to EVERYONE!…
i stayed here for 1 night. Valet parking only at $40 per day. But the valet folks are very helpful. They helped me unload and load my SUV with some heavy equipment. we had a conference at this hotel - and i stayed there a night. They checked me at 9:30 AM EST. The room was adequate - the wifi was pretty fast. They have a Starbucks in the lobby. Lots of restaurants and stuff nearby - good place for a business stay
To the point: 1) no microwave in the room. 2) no room service. 3) no daily room cleaning…unless you request it. 4) the restaurant was closed. The breakfast bar (served a breakfast sandwich, some pastries, Starbucks like coffees, mixed fruit) was only open from 8-10am. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, a double expresso shot, a tall latte, an apple juice, a fruit cup and a slice of pound cake…$28. 5) the 2 waters in the room were $2 a piece…but if you go to the gym, the same bottle waters are in the fridge, free. 6) the staff was VERY FRIENDLY.
Simply put this was my first stay in downtown Atlanta and I am so glad I selected Ellis Hotel. I researched many hotels via websites before staying downtown Atlanta and thankfully I selected the best. The associates really differentiate the hotel and made me feel like I was at home as everyone was extremely personable and took time to talk. By the time I left, I knew several associates by name through our conversations. It is worth mentioning a few and thanking them personally: RJ was the first individual I met at The Ellis, as RJ runs the valet service. RJ is a good first impression, and always had a good story to tell. Sidney checked me in and listened extremely well to my needs. Sidney put me in the perfect room. Sidney took great care of me throughout my stay . . . and because of Sidney, I will definitely return. The hotel is extremely well constructed that it is so quiet, even in downtown Atlanta. Pervis is a do-it-all individual, and I got to talk several times to Pervis during my stay as he is always doing something to insure all guests have a great stay. Finally Kimberly that takes care of the breakfast restaurant was so personable and helpful to insure my day started out with some great food. Location is everything, and The Ellis is walking distance to many restaurants and business . . . there is also a very nice park a block away. I ran early morning which was nice to stay in a very stay and nice area of town. The Ellis will be my first choice now during my stays in downtown Atlanta. Again, thanks to all the associates that insured my stay was truly an experience.…
