The hotel is good but the difference here is the front desk staff. They really seem to be willing to help. This applies to Ellaine and LJ. They were so helpful in finding me a room with a desk, telling me how to get to a restaurant, and making sure my room was good. These 2 individual were Elaine and LJ - both who work at the front desk.
I recently stayed here for a cheer competition with my daughter. During our stay an issue came up with my car and the staff was extremely kind and helpful! I cannot say enough about the treatment I was given. LJ, Q, and the ladies in the Starbucks cafe took such great care of me and my daughter! What could have been a horrible day was met with laughter, kindness, and compassion!!!! I cannot thank the staff enough!!!
Fantastic experience! We checked in early, but staff found us a now-ready upper floor corner room. The room seemed huge and the bed was incredibly comfy. It was quiet. Nice rain shower head and lots of hot water. Front desk was friendly and helpful. 5 stars!
I had an opportunity to stay here on a staycation. The concierge was pretty amicable, no one really bothered me, initially. I booked this place via an app, on my phone, they were able to accommodate my imminent needs, but there ought to be more food options in-house. I felt pretty secured during my stay. The bed were comfortable, linens was clean as well, towels in the bathroom were soft and white. I really didn’t get to enjoy any amenities, though they offered a gym, but I don’t think this hotel is the location for anything breathe-taking. Outside of the attractions nearest to it. There are many bars in the area, that are worth going to, they stay open pretty late. There are many chain restaurants as well, but they are filled with many sport fanatics. However, I must note towards the end of my overnight stay, I was rushed prematurely, it was unintentional rude, though I understood standard procedures and protocols. The staff were pretty much only doing their job, but the constant knocking on the door hours in advance was cutting into my somber. There’s a small Starbucks nearest the concierge desk, that serves breakfast items and Starbucks coffee. The staff was nice, and the dining area is pretty idea for work meetings and a workplace.…
I just stayed a day during a transit trip to Atlanta. The hotel is well located, room clean and spacious and has very comfortable bed. The people from the reception are very friendly. Location is great to explore Atlanta
This was probably the scariest place to stay. I have been to a different Marriott just about every time I am in ATL. This Marriott has one star only because the staff were wonderful. The area itself was so sketchy that I had to pack my kids up and leave as soon as night fell. I asked the valet to escort us out because it was so scary. Homeless people who are extremely aggressive walk right up to families with children and have no qualms about it. The lobby has to be locked as well since I’m sure the homeless would make their way inside if they could. Absolutely never again. The rooms are also in desperate need of updating. Everything looks really run down. I thought my first stay was a fluke so I booked again (because the front desk staff are so wonderful), only to be more disappointed now than I was before.…
First, let me say that this was the best hotel I've never stayed at! (Yet!) It all started the other night when I was planning a girl's trip. I was supposed to have a one day layover in Atlanta, and I was trying to find things to do. I spoke with LJ on the phone, and she took the time to explain how to get there from the airport and things I could do nearby. She had the kind of personality that made you want to stay at the hotel just to meet her and say thank you for your kindness! I had called a few other hotels and none of the representatives took the time to just have a short conversation with me. LJ provided that old-fashioned type of customer service, which is really just being kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Those few minutes we spent on the phone cinched my decision to stay at Ellis. Being nice to people and knowing what you're talking about goes a long way! Fast forward two days, and my trip, unfortunately, had to be canceled. (Postponed really...because I'll visit soon!) I spoke with Antoinette on the phone, and she was so friendly. She took care of all the cancelation details, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I mentioned that I talked with LJ, and Antoinette was so complementary about her and the entire establishment. These two representatives, without any gimmicks, sold me on staying at this hotel because they took an extra few minutes to give me information and help me plan my stay. I read many of the reviews, and the hotel is rated highly, but I just wanted to take a moment and let readers know that not only will you have a great room in a great location, but you'll talk with real people who are good people, and that's part of what really makes or breaks a trip. These ladies were so welcoming and informative that it made me want to write a review. So, even though I haven't stayed at the hotel—yet, I'm going to, and I'm planning a trip soon. Hopefully, these ladies will be working so I can say thank you in person.…
Not sure about the past negative reviews but my 4-night stay was the best I’ve experienced at ANY Atlanta hotel in recent years! The rooms are small but comfortable, clean, and enough outlets for business travelers. The Fitness Center is the size you’d expect at a boutique hotel but sufficiently equipped (even has a Rowing Machine)! What sets this place apart is the staff - one of the most professional, friendly, attentive, and customer focused I’ve experienced. I point this out because these have been lacking whenever I’ve visited ATL. I didn’t have a single encounter with any staff that didn’t represent the best in the customer experience - even the Valet and I didn’t even have a car!! The location is ideal and a short walk to several restaurants n pubs. I did experience more panhandlers than I remember it that’s not different than most metro-downtown areas. Would certainly stay here again when back in Atlanta!…
I checked in at around midnight the end of the month of June for a conference. I was greeted by Patina at the front desk. She was very welcoming and attempted to accommodate my needs even though the hotel was full. The next day I meet Shamika (front desk), Telanda (housekeeping supervisor), Abyaan (front desk supervisor) & Purvis Dingle (Maintenance engineer). I was very impressed with the customer service I received. Telanda and Shamika went out of their way to ensure I received some food from Wahlbuger when I was not able to get delivery. After a long day at the conference, this meant so very much to me. I appreciate everything they did to make my stay comfortable. The hotel is located in an area the is close to many attractions and conference center and arena. It was appropriate for ppl mthe purpose of my visit.…
I stayed at the Ellis this passed weekend and the valet was absolutely amazing. I just want to thank Amandae and Diallo for all their help. They helped with our bags and gave us great directions and options of food places to try.
