Hotel valet lost my keys which wrecked my family’s itinerary. Hotel management promised to refund one night’s stay (in writing) and have not done it. It’s been over 2 weeks. I tried to make contact every day but management avoids me. I have yet to hear from them or be refunded. Management also avoided me to address this issue during my stay. I waited each day for 3 days to hear from the GM. He came and left the property every day without any correspondence. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend
There are mostly good things to say about this hotel, but some negative things, as well. Stayed here for four nights with family for the CheerSport competition. The room was extremely large and felt like a fully equipped apartment. The unfortunate thing about our room was the location which faced the highways. The noise factor was horrendous, especially when trying to sleep. The racing cars and constant police and emergency vehicle sirens was awful. Would not want to stay in that part of the hotel again. I was also bothered by the smell in the room. It smaller if cigarette and/or marijuana. Very unpleasant upon entering the room. Also, not very good housekeeping services. Takes a couple calls to get your items delivered.
We were in town for the B52’s concert, Sat 1/7/23. After a long drive to Atlanta wanted to get up to the room, girls needed to use the restroom. The bad: Two separate times arriving at the room and the key card would not work. No apologies from the clerk behind the counter and she gave the impression that she was inconvenienced. My wife asked if there was a restroom available in the lobby and was told yes, clerk pointed around the corner. My wife, hurried, went to hand the key cards over to the clerk and the one of the cards fell out of the sleeve and fell on the keyboard. There was a very strong reaction from the clerk and she started saying I don’t need to be treated like that, she needs to get her attitude in check, etc. very embarrassing and honestly way over the top. I made an apology trying to defuse the situation but the clerk continued and at one point said I don’t know if you should even stay here (Manager: watch the video to confirm my statements). If we hadn’t driven so far and had the concert, I would have looked for another place to stay at this point. The Good: The security guard (Gary) walked over and offered to accompany me to the room to troubleshoot the problem. It seems the lock requires a charge and if low, does not work. He had a battery pack with him, he hooked it up and said by the time we leave for the concert, the battery should be charged and no more issues. I thanked him for his help and when ready, brought the battery back to Gary informing him there are no more problems. He was great, thank you. The clerk continued to glare at my wife when ever we walked though the lobby. Very uncomfortable and will not be back.…
Had 2 suites over new year's weekend for a fun trip to the Peach Bowl. As a Lifetime Platinum member of Marriott I typically love Autograph Collection properties. This was the single worst experience I've had at a Marriott property in at least a decade. You have a 50/50 chance of overlooking a confluence of major roads. We were "upgraded" to this thoroughly miserable side of the hotel. And if you're equally unlucky, the constant roar of trucks, cars, motorcycles, and emergency vehicles will last until about 3am and then start up again around 5am. I've never experienced anything like it. There is just no sound-proofing whatsoever. You'd sleep better in a cheap motel. Beyond the complete inability to sleep, our rooms were in poor condition. The shower grout was mildew-infested; truly disgusting. Many surfaces were sticky. Towels were scarce and it took forever to get replacements. The mattress needed to be replaced a year ago. The safe was broken and we were told it would take quite some time to get someone up to fix it so we had to forgo housekeeping. Breakfast wasn’t available until 9am and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more limited, un-inspired offering for a “luxury” hotel. The continental breakfast arrived with warm yogurt and tasteless fruit. We thought about trying the restaurant for dinner our first night but they're going for a club-scene at the adjacent bar (although few people were there) so they blast music through the entire first floor including the restaurant. Took a pass on that so can't comment on the food beyond the sub-par breakfast. I tried reaching out to management and all I received back was a form email. I've seen a number of positive reviews for this property and all I can conclude is that they were on the quiet side of the hotel. Atlanta has lots of other hotels. Stay at one of those - any of those.…
We were in Atlanta for a few days to do typical sightseeing (Coca Cola, aquarium, etc) and this was the perfect location with enough breathing room for our family of five. The rooms are big, stylish and comfy and the gym is more like a "real" gym than a hotel gym. Big shout out to Demi who handled some hiccups with our room requests and was always super helpful and friendly!
My partner and kids joined me on this visit. My daughter enjoyed the colored pencils and wall drawing place mats. We checked in with Monica and Demi, the manager from my previous visit. There was a sallow mature woman holding a clip board. Our room seemed clean enough. I did find food in our fridge and used condom wrappers inside of a desk drawer. Definitely not as pristine as my first visit. Still a great experience! I'm not a Marriott guy by choice. However, after this experience I'm considering switching brands. The landscape gave an upscale feel. In the jumbled up mess that is downtown Atlanta. I'm never excited about traveling to this city because of the traffic. Initially I was turned off by the loud music in the lobby. But my check in was quick. Spoke with a pretty A.A. gal who was easy on the eyes. Quickly my concern was silenced when I got to my room. Clean and with a fabulous layout! Full kitchenette and living area. Balcony overlooking the city. Went back downstairs, and knocked a few back at the bar. Started a conversation with a pretty blonde who informed me she was a Texan by birth. By this point both the restaurant and bar were getting pretty packed. I noticed a constant flow of patrons from next door. Later on I learned that this portion was a building of condominiums adjacent to the hotel. Things were looking up until I lost the key to my room. Went back down to the front desk and spoke with the same girl as earlier. Demi, turns out she was the manager on duty. We had a delightful conversation. She was so comingly, that I had to force my eyes away from her impressive attributes. The hotel is beautiful as well. Giving more of a rustic boho vibe. Concrete walls and siding. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding! Great service from Pat, a rather boisterous fellow. We had a conversation and I could not keep from laughing. Overall I did get the feeling that these people here enjoy their jobs. I had to excuse my uptight demeanor. These interactions are sometimes awkward for me being a retired marine and not from the lower 48. This property is definitely on my list when I travel back to Atlanta. Well done!…
Room was spacious and the staff were super friendly. The restaurant music was way too loud both nights at dinner, club music loud. No place to have a business conversation even in the lobby due to noise, and…no backup toothbrushes for guests if forgotten.
I would have given 2, maybe 3 starts for this hotel - which I will go through later - but ended up as 1 star due to them charging my credit card, even though I had fully prepaid, and took me writing to the CEO of Marriott in order to get the refund credited back to my account - despite being assured it would happen within 24-48 hours! Now the hotel. We had 2 stays in 10 days - we went to Myrtle Beach in the middle section of our stay in the US. We had a 1 bedroom suite on both occasions. The first room was quite smart - not keen on the "urban chic" concrete slabs for ceilings and some walls - but that's just my taste. Check in was fine, had to use valet parking - ridiculously expensive at $40 - but a nice stay. Well positioned for Coca Cola and Aquarium, but not much else. Not really a place to stay with access to a lot of restaurants and other activities. Second stay - much worse. Check in took a while - receptionist chewing all the way through, actually answered the phone in the middle of checking us in - not great! Room, even though supposed to be same standard as first simply wasn't! Smaller, less well kept, not the same standard at all. Scuffs on paintwork, loose toilet seat, safe that didn't work... Had to ring down about 5 times over the space of 2.5 hours to get extra towels - even though they knew 3 of us were staying in the room they only provided 2 towels! Bed and sofa-bed squeaked whenever you moved and main bed had "blackhole" in the middle that sucked in anyone that got close to it!! Finally, when I spoke with assistant manager on our final morning there to explain that it looked like they were charging my card AGAIN (this was the second time) she assured me this would not happen (in fairness it didn't) and that she had checked and my refund for their mistake was being processed. She gave me her card so that I could get in touch with her directly if any issues - there were - no refund - so I emailed (twice) and was ignored/got no reply both times. Customer service? Need more training at this hotel!…
My only regret is I only spent a night. But everything was top notch. Check in went smoothly, and the valet service was excellent. Only about 3 blocks from the aquarium, and many great places to eat within blocks. Basically a 1 bedroom apartment, separate large bedroom and great bathroom. Kitchen was had utensils, stove, microwave and full sized fridge. Balcony is a nice touch with gorgeous views of the city. Even a nice pet area outside. Everything was very clean and the entire property was manicured and spotless.
First let me give a shot out to the wonderful valet staff. Very friendly and patient. In general all the staff we met was very friendly. The suite we got was very big. Large fridge with an ice kiosk. Kitchenette, nice living room, two comfortable queen beds and a big bathroom with a shower. Breakfast is served to order at the hotel restaurant. Our server was very nice. We got a coupon for a breakfast for two on checkin which was a pleasant surprise (we didn’t include breakfast in our reservation). My only gripe and reason for the 4 star is the noise (we were on 11th floor) due to proximity to the highway.
