As a premium, boutique downtown Atlanta hotel, we are perfect when traveling on business, planning a meeting or social event, or enjoying the area's best shopping, dining, and entertainment. Overlooking the breathtaking Atlanta skyline, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown is within walking distance of attractions such as the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, Centennial Olympic Park, and Georgia State University. Set in a historic building, our all-new hotel underwent a multi-million dollar transformation with 11 floors added to the a five-story structure originally built more than a century ago. We kept the historic exterior intact, and several elements within our hotel have been incorporated into our hotel's unique design including the original iron staircase located in the lobby. All of the rooms in the hotel feature marble-topped wet bars with microwaves and refrigerators, sleeper sofa, free WiFi, two LCD televisions, and deluxe pillow-top mattresses.

It is absolutely that staff who made this hotel a standout stay. Everyone—front desk staff, the valets and van driver, and the breakfast room staff—were genuinely engaged, positive, and friendly in every interaction I had with them. So great! The hotel itself is a historic building—converted from offices—that retains much of its old-time charm without feeling dated. The rooms are well appointed and generously sized, with huge windows (pro tip: see if you can get a corner room). Breakfast was varied, which was nice as we stayed for four nights, and was always fresh and plentiful, with a nice selection of hot and cold items, including cut fruit. And one morning they served biscuits and gravy... hello! The hotel sits across an intersection from a Marta station, which is convenient if that's how you plan to travel; we walked or took the hotel's free shuttle. The only downside to staying at the Fairfield (and certainly not their fault) is the neighborhood seems to be on a decline. It sits in the heart of Underground Atlanta, which is currently closed for renovation, and even the aboveground shopping district (rebranded as Underground Atlanta) felt deserted of shoppers, instead there were often people simply loitering (and frequently yelling, which we could hear even up on the eighth floor). Walking in the daytime was fine, but later in the evening was dodgy. Overall, this was a fantastic stay at a charming hotel with a fantastic staff!

The hotel itself is good. The lobby was well kept and the staff were very nice. Especially the front desk, I needed an item to get dress, I attempted to walk to the store and it was closed. The young lady at the front desk was able to find what I needed in the hotel and saved the day. I always appreciate GREAT customer service. The breakfast was good. My only complaint would be the location. While it is closed to a lot of main attractions, as you walk around the corner you will find a lot of people laying out. Some seeming to be under the influence. I was told by a native that a shelter was not to far. It seems the community tries to help, I seen a lot of volunteers out providing food and clothes to those outside. Despite this, I give the hotel a 4 out of 5. Just be careful walking around.

A great hotel in downtown Atlanta - within walking distance of Aquarium, Museum of Coca Cola, Subway,College Hall of Fame and many other attractions. A few street people seem to linger throughout each day, but they appear to be harmless. Friendly hotel, great breakfast with lots of choices - hot and cold options.

We booked 9 rooms in this hotel since we were in town for a basketball tournament. We typically allow the high school players the freedom to roam around the hotel and meet up with their teammates to hang out but this hotel was a huge safety concern and we had to put cautionary measures in place to ensure the safety of our players. The location is in the heart of one of the worst areas in the city (we affectionately referred to this area as cracktown). The front desk staff were terrible to deal with -taking the the definition of lazy to a new level--and provided zero customer service. If you must stay here, be prepared - you are in a serious drug district and won't feel safe walking around. Even the hotel requires guests to have a key to get into the lobby. One hotel guest allowed one of the individuals residing on the street to piggy back into the lobby where they immediately made their way to the elevator. Fortunately, this occurred during a time when the front desk personnel happened to be at the desk and stopped the person before he got onto the elevators. Who knows what would have happened! Everything in the surrounding area closes at 5pm (probably for safety reasons) or has gone out of business so get your food early or plan to have something delivered. I found it interesting to run on the treadmill and watch the rountine drug transactions on the street below in broad daylight. The loud parties, police sirens and nonstop train horns that run all day and night make sleeping a challenge. If you ask, the front desk, they will provide you ear plugs. We were offered the opportunity to change rooms despite being told the hotel was sold out; however, we were directly oustide the elevator lobby where the music is played around the clock and the volume is too loud (probably to drown out the street and train sounds). Despite being a Titanium level member, I was not permitted to have a late check out which was yet another frustration to add to the list. The one bright spot was the two ladies that work the breakfast shift and their daily song that was entertaining to everyone. Lovely ladies that would make you smile because they are so happy. Too bad they can't work in other parts of the hotel!

Just came back from a basketball tournament in Atlanta. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Downtown. The location is great since it's close to everything. The subway is across the street. The hotel is nice and very clean. The entire staff is amazing. I cannot say enough about the customer service at this hotel. From the front desk to housekeeping to the parking attendant to the ladies in the breakfast room. We had an amazing stay. Thank you so much for making my first time in Atlanta an amazing experience.
