The Hilton Atlanta garners mixed reactions, with guests praising its prime downtown location and varied dining options, yet some point out noise disruptions. Service quality fluctuates, with reports of both commendable and lackluster performances from the staff. While the cleanliness and certain charming aspects are appreciated, critiques are directed at dated rooms and inconsistent housekeeping. Amenities are generally liked, but elevator and check-in inefficiencies have been noted. Additionally, the value proposition is questioned by numerous travelers due to extra charges, such as for parking.

I visited Atlanta for one night on Feb 9 and chose this specific Hilton based on price and location as I’m a Hilton Honors Diamond member.

The drive from ATL was about 15 minutes. I had checked in the day before using the Hilton Honors app and surprisingly I got a notification that my room was ready from 10:30am which was super. I was upgraded to a King Room on the 26th floor, 2638 to be exact. The top three floors 26, 27 and 28 are designated Executive Level rooms.

Sadly the restaurants are all closed, except one on weekends. The executive lounge is also closed. Diamond members get a $20 per day credit at the Marketplace in the lobby which was fine. They offer good salads and light dishes along with snacks, drinks, wine, pastries, desserts etc. I had a chicken Caesar and pizza which were both satisfying.

Nice 10 minute walk to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca Cola as well.

I quite enjoyed my stay and will stay again. Hopefully things return to normal late 2021 and the lounge reopens again.

My family stayed at this hotel over President’s Day weekend. Hotel is in a great location to access downtown attractions. Breakfast was really good, we’re Hilton gold members so it was free otherwise it’s very expensive. Hotel room was decent, however we had several issues with our first room - it was 40 degrees outside and our heat didn’t work, and after three maintenance visits our room was changed. Additionally the bed frame was broken and I cut my leg. The hotel did refund half of our rate the first night so that made up for the inconvenience. I’d say our biggest complaint were the extremely long front desk lines. Luckily we checked in with the app. While there was a cheerleading competition that weekend even after they left the lines were still ridiculously long.

I booked that room to do some touristy stuff downtown like Coca-Cola aquarium and just hang out. Hotel is very large so there's no swimming pool and the only food you can get is from the hotel's restaurant downstairs that's $20 or more for every item and it's $27 for the breakfast buffet. They do have a little convenience store in there with food and little items if you need it for your stay that's cheaper and a mini Starbucks. The rooms are okay just make sure when you pick your room but if you get double beds they are actually full size beds so you can't fit two adults on them I picked a room off of my Hilton app and use the digital key so I didn't have to use the front desk. My room was clean and pretty updated on the 22nd floor. The only issues I had was it is so noisy outside it must be next to a main street that they use for drag racing because every night there were cars burning tires and screeching by all night long I could barely sleep. And don't walk around at night it's very shady there there's lots of homeless people bugging you for money and any restaurants you go to are kind of junkie right now.

The parking situation is truly a mess. The garage gets full and there is nowhere else to park. Valet only takes trucks. The area around the hotel is pretty sketchy so when there is no garage parking, be very careful where you decide to park. We got lucky and found a spot after driving around for 90 minutes.

No covid protocols in place such as mandatory masks, people gathering by large groups in the lobby maskless. There is a security guard there but not sure why, he was not securing anything or telling people to put on masks; he was sitting there on his phone. He did ask to see my room key when walking up from the garage once in the middle f the afternoon but not sure what that proves? People throw hotel keys on the ground all the time. Housekeeping is a joke, they do not clean the room during your stay (if you are there multiple days) and requests for towels and blankets went unanswered. We eventually saw a cart and hoarded towels from it. The room service phone line just rings and rings. The elevators are SLOW.

If you need somewhere to sleep for a night, it's fine but don't expect good service.

I had to travel to Atlanta for a sales related meeting. I stayed one night at the Hilton Atlanta, which I have stayed here many times before and had a perfectly good trip. Unfortunately, when I arrived I was told that the standard rooms were sold out and I would be upgraded to an executive level room on the top floor. I thought to myself, wow I’ve never been upgraded to an executive level room. I checked in And realized that my executive level room did not appear to have been cleaned properly in sometime. There were little bits of trash all over the floor, and the couch in the room was absolutely filthy. I went into the bathroom to take a shower and found multiple hand towels and washcloths (folded in place) that had stains on them. After a shower I was about to climb into bed and realized the sheets on the bed and yellow stains on them. I called housekeeping and they profusely apologize and said someone will be out right away. Well, an hour later someone finally showed up to swap out the sheets on my bed. I have probably stayed at this hotel 20 to 30 times and generally stayed in standard rooms and they’ve been perfectly fine but this I would say, is probably my worst experience ever at this hotel strictly on a cleanliness basis. So if you get upgraded to a executive level room make sure your room has been cleaned.

Upon arrival on Thursday July 15 Joshua immediately welcomed us and provided us with excellent service. We pre-booked our stay but somehow the information from the third party wasn’t provided but no worries Demetri to the rescue! Demetri ensured our card would not show additional charges as he worked diligently to ensure the problem was corrected. All of the staff were extremely accommodating. We would have drinks several evenings at Southern Elements (bar) and the night before we departed we even had dinner here. The drinks were amazing and dinner was fulfilling. Due to a shortage of staff we were informed (in advance) that housekeeping may not be available to clean our rooms daily (we were provided fresh towels daily) and honestly it was fine (we don’t have house keeping at home and everyone/everywhere is trying to shake back since Covid). The hotel room was clean (a little dated) and provided the comforts we needed for our stay. Instead of renting a car we utilized Uber since we were unfamiliar with the city and it eliminated garage fees. We did utilize (for fun) the scooters (definitely encourage it, so much fun!)

I read prior bad reviews after making my reservation and was a little nervous. Upon checking in it was quick and easy. The attendant was nice. Yes parking is $32 a night but it was easy and efficient as well and no one bothered me while in the parking garage. The parking garage smelled of marijuana but if you are tripping about marijuana in 2021 something is wrong with you. The hotel on the other park had no stench or scent of marijuana and that’s all that matters. I felt safe and never felt in danger. The room was tidy and clean and smelled very good upon walking in. Also you have to pay $50 deposit per night you stay but it is refundable and they will take your parking out of that as well. I was overall happy with my experience.

We recently stayed here for a week’s vacation and had a great experience. Everyone we encountered was absolutely wonderful and friendly. We chose to do the valet parking to ensure the rental car would have a parking spot and be well taken care of. .We asked how long to allow when we needed to go out for it to be brought to us and was told can take about 10 minutes and they were spot on. Our room was on a top floor and never waited long for an elevator. Most of the time there were 8 available except when the fancy restaurant was open for dinner then one was used as an express. We had breakfast in the Southern Elements restaurant almost every day. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only they had the buffet along with an a la carte menu but on weekdays just had the menu. I did the buffet when they had it and other days ordered either the pancakes with chocolate chips or the French toast and they were great. I have family members with food allergies and there is no make your own omelet station as part of the buffet so they had to order from the menu and they were great accommodating them. We had one lunch and one dinner there it is the same menu and enjoyed our meals. We were told at checkin that housekeeping comes on the 4th day. A few days after we arrived had a spill and could not get the stain out so needed the sheets changed and stopped by the front desk on our way to breakfast with that request. We were out all day and came back to find not only did they do that but cleaned and gave us new towels. Because of that our housekeeping schedule changed. We came back after a day out to discover the day we thought that someone was coming was not that day and needed more soap and toilet paper. We went down to the front desk and were given those items and a little bit later someone knocked on our door to make sure we had everything we needed. There is no gift shop but we did not mind we got plenty of souvenirs visiting attractions. It was not a bad walk to the attractions around Centennial Park - Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Skyview, and College Football Hall of Fame. If ever in this area again would definitely come back to Hilton Atlanta.

We came to the hotel to celebrate our anniversary and attend a concert at the State Farm Arena. Upon arrival to the hotel we were super confused, self parking honestly is confusing and valet was so backed up there was a line halfway down the block. Little did we know, the hotel was sold out due to low rates for a bowl game. When we finally made our way inside, the line was 50 people deep, thankfully the diamond desk only had a few people so we got checked in quickly. The elevators were so backed up it took 30ish minutes to get on one and up to our room. I will say, we were graciously upgraded to a beautiful suite which was amazing, but that’s where the good started and ended. The “diamond happy hour” was dismal at best, a few veggies and spinach dip, not what we usually see and after 20 minutes the bartender was nowhere to be found. We went to the concert and when we came back, it was raining and cold so decided to eat in the cafe, wrong choice. The cafe was out of the 3 things we attempted to order, clearly not prepared for a sold out weekend. We grabbed sandwiches and headed to the elevators where it again took 30-45 minutes to get upstairs because they were so backed up. That night we didn’t really sleep much at all because everyone around us was partying for the game. The next morning we went to the elevators to go up to the rooftop restaurant where Diamond members have breakfast...after 50something minutes of waiting on the elevator a manager came and told us that all but 2 elevators were broken and people were trapped on them, that we had to go downstairs and eat, and they’d comp it but they didn’t have enough comp slips for everyone so he’d tell the staff down there. Everyone by this point had been waiting an hour or more and we were all complaining and pissed. We finally get on an elevator another 20 minutes later to a line of no less than 50 people trying to get in to eat. At this point we should’ve left, but the weather was gross so we just stayed, and regretted it. We sat down, ordered drinks that took forever to come, got food (after it was refilled) our plates piled up on a tiny cocktail table without our server clearing them. And then the server argued with us that we couldn’t have the breakfast free, finally a managed comped it as other tables around us had the same issue. After that we packed up and left. It was a horrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I expect MUCH more for being A) a Hilton flagship hotel B) being a diamond member, I spend way too much time in Hilton’s to have such a crap experience ruin my wedding anniversary.

The hotel doesn't provide airport transportation, however, it's easy to get to the airport from the Peachtree Center Marta Station that connects to the Marriott (which connects to the Hilton via skybridge). It's around $2.50 for the fare and takes about 40 minutes. If you prefer to use a private car, you can book an Uber or Lyft to pick you up at the dedicated spot in the hotel's roundabout. The trip takes between 20-40 minutes to the airport, depending upon the time of day and traffic. I hope that helps!
