The hotel itself if very pretty and the location is amazing. I had a bad experience. My room was never cleaned. The bath products were already used when I arrived. The staff was not interested in helping with these issues. I expected more.
We had a 4 night stay and thought the hotel was awesome. We were upgraded to a Deluxe view. The hotel has a very historic feel and the staff are all top notch. The rooms were quiet, AC worked great, food was good in the restaurant and valet was pretty quick. This would be our first choice if visiting downtown Atlanta again. It’s not really a hotel issue, but at night the park next to the hotel is pretty sketchy so I’d suggest taking another route when walking back to the hotel. The aquarium and world of Coke are within easy walking distance (less than a mile).
The Reception lady first refused to take my company debit card to pay for the hotel because she claimed I made reservation on booking.com as a private person which was not true. After I proved her I made reservation as company she refused to take the card since the card had only company name on it and not mine personal name on it. I agreed that she can use my personal card but that I need the invoice for the company. She refused and printed invoice for me as private person. This was a business trip and she was very careless so I asked her to call the manager or someone who can issue invoice for the name of my company. She smiled ironically and said that she will send him an email. In the next 10 minutes she was just answering phone calls and pretending to do something. When I asked her to call the manager by phone instead of writing him email she told me she is not speaking with me. I asked again to respond to my request since I have a plane to catch. In this moment she picked up the phone and instead of calling manager she called the security. When the security came she said " This lady customer is nasty and does not want to leave the reception " I was shocked as were people around me. The security lady called the manager who finally issued the invoice for my company. For this expensive hotel extremely unprofessional and embarrasing behaviour from the staff.…
Wonderful hotel and experience! Jerome and Perry in valet and guest services were wonderful! Wanted to hang with them! Also wait staff in restaurants including James and Elida were great. Good location, beautiful hotel and great staff made the experience the best!!
Rose was great at checkin super helpful and understanding. Flight came in early and she helped to get a room ready. Nice place easy to walk to near by restaurants. Rooms are setup nicely and clean. Great job
Great first time experience at the Candler. Jerome, the bell captain, was the first face we met upon arrival and he made the start of our experience fabulous, he took care of us and our luggage so seamlessly. We had a small issue during our stay that was an honest mistake on behalf of the staff and they went above and beyond to make everything right. The food was delicious. All staff that we encountered were so friendly and always so accommodating. Candler is in a perfect location and within walking distance to great restaurants. We will definitely be back again soon!
We were laughing from the moment that we got to the front desk. Everyone was so kind, and friendly. Jerome at valet was a pleasure to deal with. We will most certainly be back, we absolutely enjoyed our stay.
Everything about the Candler is exceptional, but it’s their staff that make it so special. From Valet to reception to dining at By George, it’s the people at this hotel that have made my trip such a memorable one! Thank you CJ, Jasmine, Perry, Rose, Tiffany, Kanema, and Alpha…I wish I knew the names of a couple others that I met during my stay here…they’re all fantastic… and happy to go out of their way to deliver outstanding service! So fun to get to know them!
The Candler is beautiful and very comfortable and neat. The staff are top notch- so helpful and kind! LaVette from security is literally the best and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to kind staff like her and others.
My parents and I stayed at The Candler for 5 nights in early December 2022. This was the perfect place to relax and feel fancy for our family trip for 2022 - celebrating major birthdays and anniversaries and a professional football game. Every staff member we met was incredibly kind and remembered our names after a day or two, from the valets to the head bell hop, to the front desk team. I also highly recommend the tour they offer in the evenings! So fun to see the original vault where the Coca-Cola recipe and ingredients were stored! It's an incredibly beautiful, historic hotel, and I'm excited to see the coming updates they have planned in the near future!
