This was an absolute find for us, just exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful retreat with a laid-back feel. A lovely characterful hotel, our room was fitted out with traditional heavy Spanish furniture but it suited the room exactly. Our room had an enormous shady roof terrace overlooking the babbling brook running past the hotel (it was once upon a time a mill)....much appreciated by our pooch who travelled with us.
The bed in the room was enormous and very comfortable with a quality mattress, pillows and bed linen and the air conditioning was much appreciated.
There was a little path from the hotel leading up to the nearby cat cave so we walked there every morning, 10 minutes or so. The cave is a popular beauty spot for the Spanish, but get there before the hordes arrive around 11am. There's a lovely little waterfall and icy cold pool at the entrance to the cave - the water is so cold it actually cools the air around it, so sitting by the pool feels slightly air conditioned, hence the hoards picnicking there for the day.
The path also leads back to the village of Benaojan, an easy 10-minute stroll, so it would be possible to visit here for lunch or dinner as there are a couple of places down by the railway line (the same railway line which goes past the hotel on the opposite side of the river but it is not in the slightest bit bothersome).
Breakfast was a very acceptable continental style and the owners, a British couple, were very friendly and welcoming and happy to answer any questions, even providing us with a print out of a suggested circular car tour to take in the breath-taking scenery around.
I would've given this place 5 stars but we partially chose it because of the great reviews on the food and looked forward to eating at the restaurant but were disappointed to find that it was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - precisely the 2 nights we were there and felt this ought to be highlighted on the hotel blurb. None-the-less we had a great time and the owner was happy to direct us to another little gem a few minutes’ walk across the road so we ate there each night.
As a bonus this place is only about 15 minutes drive to the nearby reknowned town of Ronda.
Would highly recommend this hotel and we look forward to visiting again.

This is a rural hotel, in the middle of the countryside, bordered by a small river. Please do not expect a posh hotel, but rather a full of character quirky rustic property with lots of imperfections (which only add to the charm).
Philip and Suzanne were excellent hosts, who made us most welcome, as did Xena, the dog.
There's a lovely 2km riverwalk into the small village where one can catch the train. It was a great thing to do on our early evening before dinner. The small "cantina" by the station was like going back into an old Western film!! We even took Xena the dog with us, she was perfectly behaved and was good either on, or off the lead. You don't get that in many hotels !!
Our room was very good, overlooking the river. A very comfy bed.
Overall a very pleasant overnight stay.

Was quite surprised with our stay. We arrived on a very wet day after cycling from El Burgo. First impressions were good as location is very nice. I suspect on a dry or even a sunny normal day all would have been fine. Rooms were OK but no real way of heating the bedroom as Air Con didn't work in heat mode. We got very wet walking from upstairs room to dining room/bar. Big disappointment was really lack of a fire, (no kindling / don't care) in dining area. I accept conditions were exceptional but that is when the service part of hospitality comes in. WiFi also didn't work, not that fussed but maybe symptomatic of attitude. Evening meal was very good, although had to dress up in warm clothing due to lack of fire. Breakfast OK.

I stayed here solo traveling for a relaxing and had the most wonderful time - Philip the owner met me at the bus stop in Ronda and had very helpful tips re walks in the area & even posted something back to me after I'd accidentally left it behind in the hotel. Amazing hospitality and such friendly hosts.
The hotel itself was very comfortable with everything I needed. The pool was in a stunning setting and so nice just to relax and lounge next to on very hot afternoons. Do take a jumper as it can get chilly in mornings and evenings.
I managed it fine without a car due to the lifts to the bus station which was most appreciated, and there is a fab restaurant opposite the hotel for lunches.
Nearby were wonderful walks in the national park, even easy ones I could do easily & the waterfall pool and cave nearby was stunning. A most memorable trip - I will definitely be returning!

This is NOT your run of the mill hotel (pardon the pun).
Once an old abandoned mill, the owner and his wife converted and fully renovated the building for use as a hotel. The inner enclosed courtyard has the old world charm, and each room - the dining room, courtyard, balcony and individual rooms - is fully and lovingly furnished in a décor the accents the history of this structure.
If you want a getaway with character, this is definitely it!

Staff (owners): Charming and very helpful. They will happily recommend places you should visit depending on your tastes

Grounds: Clean all around, great bar and restaurant.

Rooms: Gorgeous! Clean, comfortable, huge bathrooms, clean towels every day, fast hot water... Our room, #6, came with a queen size and single bed. All rooms have air conditioning and heaters, (days in Sept are 30 degrees, nights dip to 10 degrees or cooler).

Location: If you put the hotel at one corner of a triangle, the other corner will lead you to Grazalema and Zahara de la Sierra, and the third to Ronda and further on to Setenil de las Bodegas. Each of these towns are a must see, so the location is perfect.
Close to 'home' are a few caves for those who enjoy spelunking. One of the few caves with cave paintings still open to the public is only 15 mns away, Cueva de la Pileta, which we enjoyed and recommend (not recommended for those with health issues because of the hundreds of steps and slippery ground).

Time necessary to see all towns: 3-4 days of leisurely walking in town will give you more than enough time to see the places mentioned.

BIKING: This is motorcycle, Road and MTB heaven! Biking this mountainous area is incredible, with jaw-dropping views from each corner. Be ready for 35 degree (no humidity) days though, and very cool morning and evenings.

Hotel Molino Cuatro Paradas is a charmingly restored flour mill located just outside the popular village of Benaojan on the banks of the river Guadiaro. It has recently been converted into a comfortable country More hotel with a variety of accommodation options. The hotel is the perfect location to explore the mountains and white villages of the Serrania de Ronda and enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife in the adjacent national parks of Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves.
