If you are visiting the Woodstock VT area this is the perfect location to have as your base. First...the hotel. It is an older style setup...but very updated and very clean. Staff takes this seriously. The room is large compared to the cookie cutter highway hotels....no need to squeeze around the furniture to move around in the room. Good bed and TV...great shower and there is a mini fridge. Everything my wife and I needed for a 2 night stay. This is a family owned hotel and they are such sweet people....very easy to communicate with! They both told us about things to do and see in and around Woodstock VT. From restaurant recommendations that were spot on...to some back roads directions that led us to some fantastic views. We saw an old cemetery with a number of Revolutionary War vets, 3 different covered bridges which interests us, found an amazing thrift store in this HUGE old wooden building in the next town down from Woodstock...Bridgetown? After our explorations we took advantage of the huge Adirondack chairs on the beautiful hill overlooking some nice country scenery....postcards could be made of this view!! One place we loved was the Woodstock Market....I found some hard to get Vermont Craft brews and we decided on a couple of big sandwiches and salads for a picnic table lunch. In the end...we had a wonderful time in the area and would so recommend the kindness and hospitality you will experience while staying at The Braeside Lodge Woodstock Vermont.…
I want to thank the owner for coming through at the last minute when I needed a place to stay. This is a simple Motel, there is no Breakfast. The location is excellent on a Hill overlooking a Mountain that has Cows Grazing. They have adirondack chairs where you just look at the hill and the cows, This place must be amazing in the fall. This is a great place for the more Budget Minded traveller and is a good location on the outskirts of Woodstock. I did not see a Pool either here, it wasnt a problem for me especilly since it was cold and raining, but just be aware. The adults can just look at the cows grazing on the Hill
This is our 8th stay in the past 9 years, only missing last year due to our daughter’s wedding. Neat, clean, comfortable rooms with amenities. Run by wonderful, friendly people! Covid didn’t keep us away this year! The Braeside was well prepared for a safe stay for the two of us. We couldn’t ask for more, and will be back again next October, and maybe sooner!
I was very pleased with our stay at Braeside Lodging. We booked this place at the very last minute since we spontaneously decided to do a quick get away. We were not disappointed with the location nor the room! The contactless check in process was quick and easy—a small white envelope with our name containing forms to sign for COVID and keys was right in front of us near the front desk door. I was pleasantly surprised at how well kept and modern the rooms were—It was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and they provided plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was a fridge in the room and a bottle opener which was greatly appreciated since we had just purchased lots of cheese from SugarBush Farms. The view is spectacular even on a rainy day. The staff were considerate and kind—we accidentally over slept on our last day and woke up close to our 11AM checkout time. They were kind enough to extend it to 12PM. The only minor complaint I have is the pillows were a little too soft for my liking but they seemed to have been aware of this, since they had extra pillows in the room! Overall, really loved this stay and will likely stay here again if I visit Woodstock! …
This lodge is located just outside of the quaint "downtown" area of shops and restaurants. The room was clean, the bathroom was a decent size (and it had a fan), and the temperature could be changed by a remote control. The only negative, albeit a huge one, was the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was either very old or very cheap.
I made a reservation on a Friday night for the following night stay (Saturday). On Saturday I had an emergency which prevented me from traveling. I called and spoke to the motel and they said because I didn't cancel 15 days prior (hello! I just made the reservation last night!) they can't refund my money. So they pocketed my $208 and probably rented the room to someone else.
We have stayed at the Braeside numerous times over the past few years during summer. It's a top notch choice in that it's always immaculately clean, super quiet, in a truly lovely setting up high on a bluff with a long gorgeous front lawn and Adirondack chairs looking at a small mountain in the distance. The rooms are a good size, and the beds are very comfortable. The very nice folks running the place clearly care a great deal about it, and it shows. Highly recommended.
The room was immaculate. The walls were freshly paints and all fixtures, the floor, the shower, the coffee maker (Keurig) were all perfectly clean and operated just fine. We brought muffins and some apples with us for a quick breakfast before hitting the road. The refrigerator kept our ice packs, drinks and snacks in good shape for the next travel day. The bedding was totally clean and comfortable. Motel parking gave us convenient movement of luggage on a rainy night. The reception in the office by the proprietor was so very helpful, He gave us a tip about dinner that night (The Public House, Queechhee) that gave us a top notch evening with a varied menu with delicious results. The Breaeside has easy access on Rt. 4, a few miles East of Woodstock. No problem with any highway noise.…
We spent a night here on our trip to New England and found this older motel just right and in keeping with the more rural setting that Vermont is known for. Our room was clean, well-maintained and quiet. The owner was very friendly. Woodstock is a beautiful town that will delight you in countless ways and it should be an overnight stay when traveling through Vermont. This is the Vermont that you have traveled to see, and the Braeside is a good place to stay while doing so.
We were here for three days. We appreciated the handy location, the Keurig and fridge in the room and the view. The owners were on hand and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. This location is convenient to Quechee and Woodstock, which really worked well for us!
