Everything you would want in a New England Inn that has been beautifully restored in keeping with the period of the house. Tony and Jill are delightful hosts, even sharing their story of becoming innkeepers with us. Our room (#7) with fireplace, soaking tub, and king size bed was beautifully appointed and exceeded our expectation. The grounds were stunning and sitting by the river in the Adirondack chairs with a view of the Middle Covered Bridge was sublime. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious and we very much appreciated the gluten free and vegetarian options that were provided. In addition, the support staff was very friendly and respectful. Our next visit will need to be more than one night and hopefully a warmer time of year to enjoy the pool! Thank you for making our celebration special. Darryl and Michele

Property's Favorite Review
The best word I can use to describe the Blue Horse Inn is idyllic. From the Colonial brick facade to the sprawling and well-manicured grounds and seasonal decorations you might think you stepped onto the backlot of a studio filming a show like Gilmore Girls. The Blue Horse in is beautiful; It's warm, cozy, comfortable and every other curled up by the fireplace with a warm cup of coffee adjective you can think of. The proprietors - Jill and Tony - are fantastic. Prior to our arrival I spoke with Jill a number of times as she detailed the differences in the rooms available, reservation options for local restaurants, and options available if we had any dietary restrictions. Jill and Tony went above and beyond in every single way during our stay. Breakfast was phenomenal. The menu changes daily and is seasonally and regionally appropriate. Also, Jill likes to sneak different flavors onto your plate. Suffice it to say, I want jalapeño jam with my eggs every time I eat them! Those of you who scroll to the bottom for a summary, here it is: Book your stay here now. It's fantastic in every respect.

We have stayed at a number of B & Bs and this is one of the best. The location is ideal as it is in walking distance of the town and all the major restaurants. The place is beautifully decorated, with lovely grounds overlooking the river. The rooms are spacious, with plenty of closet, draw space and seating. Breakfast was really well done with 3 choices each day. Jill and Tony were wonderful hosts and helpful.

We've always wanted to stay in Woodstock and explore the scenic area, hike Mt Tom and enjoy the amazing dining scene. Jill and Tony at the Blue Horse Inn have created one of the nicest inns we have ever experienced as our base. Perfect hosts, they took the time to get to know us, learning our names and trading stories. The grounds are beautiful, backing up on the river with a pool and a fire pit. The porch offered more sheltered lounging. The room was immaculate and comfortable. Breakfasts were inventive, delicious and filling! We'll be back for sure!
