A wonderful place to stay in a wonderful town to visit. Tony and Jill Amato were the finest of hosts in their lovely Blue Horse Inn. Breakfast -- Jill's artistic creations -- was a grand adventure both mornings that we were there, and they directed us to superb places to dine at lunch and dinner. They knew just what to recommend for a splendid adventure, and their inn was a perfect retreat at the end of each day. If you're going to Woodstock, Vermont, you can't do better than the Blue Horse Inn!
...not often, but sometimes, you walk into a place, or meet people, and you immediately know you have found something, or someone, special. Like you've been there before. Like you've had easy conversations with them in the past. The Blue Horse Inn is that place and Jill and Tony are those people. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years, some were very nice in different ways. But the BHI not only does the things you tend to notice very well, it does the little things well. Items you don't normally expect or think about until you see them, smile and understand that attention to detail, to cleanliness, to comfort and to history have not gone unattended. I can't tell you more than what others may have written in previous reviews. The beautiful surroundings, the elegant breakfasts, the proximity to town, the friendliness of Jill and Tony, or the caring they show to their inn and the people who visit. There are so many places in the Woodstock area you could choose to stay. Big and small. Go there if that's your choice. But before you do, think about these reviews, and the people who have written them. You may come to the Blue Horse Inn looking for a room. What you'll find instead, is an experience and a warmth that will enhance your trip and the memories that follow. You won't find that anywhere else. Thank you, Jill and Tony. Kathie and I hope to see you again.…
The Blue Horse Inn has become our home away from home and we couldn't be more cozy or comfortable when we visit. Jill and Tony welcome us as though we're family to their quintessential New England Inn. The decor is fresh but traditionally Vermont. The rooms are warm, clean and bright. The breakfast offerings are varied and delicious. (And Jill delightfully accommodates food preferences and restrictions ) We always look forward to afternoon tea and the many comfortable common rooms to choose from where we can find games, magazines, books, local art, and more. The location is perfect, within walking distance to town, restaurants, and stores. The Blue Horse Inn is the nicest and most refreshing place we've ever stayed. I just don't know how they do it!
My friend and I recently took a trip through Vermont, staying at a number of small inns in Burlington, Warren and Woodstock. I have to say that the Blue Horse Inn in Woodstock was by far the nicest! The inn itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated and everything you would imagine a New England inn to be. And just steps away from the town green, shops and restaurants of Woodstock. Our hosts Jill and Tony were great, and the daily breakfast (included) was delicious, and the perfect way to start the day. I would highly recommend the Blue Horse if you’re planning a getaway to Woodstock. You won’t be disappointed.
A wonderful inn at a great location in downtown Woodstock, VT. Easy walking distance to downtown Woodstock. A newly restored inn with lots of room for very nice and comfortable lounging on the main floor and a wonderful, beautifully decorated and spacous guest room. Very comfortable and attentive service. Very special breakfast with options for all.
