Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the main hotel (not campground or villas), which has a very recent renovation. 4* for cleanliness and amenities. The gourmet breakfast at the restaurant balcony overlooking the sea was the highlight of our stay.
The service at the reception desk was awful. I had some questions before arriving and it was impossible to communicate with the hotel: you can't reach them by phone (good luck even finding their phone number, which they don't list on their website!) and their email auto-response warns you it will take several days to get back to you. This was a warning of what was to come: it turns out the reception desk never answers the phone even for guests calling for help from their room!
First our room was hot on our arrival, and there's no way for guests to directly control their room temperature; apparently it can only be controlled from the reception desk. Since they don't answer the phone, it took several trips in person to the reception desk over the course of several hours and requiring an argument with the reception lady, before she would finally agree to seek a competent colleague who at last resolved my issue by adjusting the air conditioning.
My wife later asked for a change of pillow since they appear to offer a "wide selection of pillows" for guests' comfort. The same receptionist lady immediately retorted "we've lent out all the pillows, there are none left". My wife insisted, and finally convinced the receptionist to make a call to get access to the hotel "pillow vault", where they indeed had a large selection of pillows of various sizes and stiffness. The receptionist's initial response that no pillows were available had been a blatant lie, meant to outright dismiss my wife's request.
The hotel has an outdoor poor, and even though you have paid several hundred dollars per night, don't forget to bring your wallet when you go swimming, since they nickel and dime you for use of a plastic recliner and parasol. Only access to the water is included, for access to other basic pool comforts you must pay extra.
For several hundred bucks per night this hotel does not approach the level of friendliness and guest service they charge for. No matter what you pay for the room, it's still a hassle to access basic comforts like a cool room in summer, a pillow to sleep on, some shade at the pool, or a reception desk that answers the phone.

Very good breakfast with lots of choices.
The room was decent (located in Villa Salet) but a little small for 3 people.
The bathroom requires renovation.
It is antique with traces of mold in the ceiling corner and on the shower cabin door.

We stayed at the Villas. Although the room and facilities were outdated (especially the bathroom), they were comfortable. Breakfast was good, and we were able to find a parking spot in front of our building (parking is free for guests). The Wi-Fi worked well, and there was a free bus to the beach and a swimming pool, although we didn't use these.
It's good for a one-night stay, but the price-quality ratio was high compared to other parts of the country, including Ljubljana and Bled."

Great hotel with just a few rooms in a dream location and with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Trieste.
The hotel is integrated into Camp Belvedere and is located on the edge of the Strunjan nature reserve.
The rooms, the bathroom, the reception, the wellness area and the adjacent restaurant are modern and tastefully decorated.
The staff is very accommodating without being intrusive.
In the pool area, loungers and parasols are available free of charge for hotel guests. The pool is not only used by hotel and camp guests, which is why it is as busy as an outdoor pool at the weekend. If that bothers anyone: the beach (with infrastructure) is about 800 m away. This is generally doable on foot.
However, the way back is very steep over asphalted serpentines and is in the blazing sun.
We therefore took the car to drive to the beach. At the end of the serpentines (dead end) there is a paid car park, there are enough parking spaces here (also in the shade).
The hotel is the perfect base for exploring the Slovenian coast: Portoroz, Piran and Koper are within a radius of about 15 kilometers.
You should definitely be mobile (car, motorbike or bicycle), especially since the only dining options available are the adjacent Kamin restaurant or the pool bar (snacks) and other restaurants are hardly within walking distance.
The only thing to complain about: the cushions for the loungers on the terrace of the junior suite were dirty and stained on both sides, which is why we didn't want to use them.
And €5 per person for the use of a very old mini golf course (concrete tracks cracked and partially broken, pine needles everywhere, lettering no longer visible) is too much...

+1
Structure presented as a 3 star, but except for the courtesy of the staff, prompt check-in and a decent breakfast, it is definitely not a hotel for Italians. The hotel is located within a large area where the hotel and a campsite insist with services, therefore, shared, from the parking to the pool to the bar, in fact places of continuous shouting, confusion and spaces. The parking is in fact along the structure between road, pebbles, leaves and earth. Hostel bathroom dating back to the time of construction as photos. The shuttle service does not take you to the beach as advertised but in a parking lot from which you have to admire another 13 minutes before reaching the Bai di San Simon, equipped with bistro beds etc. Cleaning of non-existent rooms, basically change the towels and that's it. To be avoided absolutely

We stayed 5 nights in the Hotel Cliff in a room with a balcony and ocean view. It was absolutely gorgeous to look out at the Adriatic Sea with it's sailboats and ships coming into port. The restaurant at the hotel was fabulous--so good we ate dinner there 3 times. Breakfast came with the room and it was definitely worth the extra fee! They had a choice of a buffet or a sit-down breakfast, so we enjoyed having our breakfast served each morning. The staff was very helpful with everything we asked and very friendly.
We did not have a car, but it was an easy walk (downhill) into the lovely little town of Izola and a little tougher walk (uphill) back. We learned to use the local bus system and found it easy and inexpensive. Most people had a car, so that would not be necessary. There is a beautiful oceanside walk at the bottom of the hill which goes around the entire peninsula and makes for a great outing.
The spa was also worthwhile, although as older Americans we were a little taken back by the coed nature of all the facilities. Europeans are much less modest than we are! It wasn't a problem at all, just a surprise! The outdoor pool and other facilities were not open yet, so I can't comment on that. The indoor pool was perfect for a quick swim.

Premium resort Belvedere olive and pine grove for tents and caravans. The place for tents and caravans is right on the cliff, a very beautiful view of the Adriatic sea seen from this cliff is a really breathtaking beautiful sight, the sea looks like turquoise when the sun leans against the cliff. It is truly a fascinating sight. The campsite has beautiful, clean toilets, showers and a kitchen, as well as a washing machine and dishwasher.

We stayed in Villa Šalet. And luckily we had a room with a large balcony and a sea view. You can also be more unlucky, because you can't sit on the small balconies.
We only booked for 2 days because we were passing through. Our son (3) was pretty bored there. There was a playground, but it was under pine trees, all the needles were lying on the ground and it was teeming with stinging insects. Otherwise there was no slide by the pools, let alone entertainment. So I wouldn't recommend it for a family vacation. The "beach" is a concrete block. Otherwise the rooms were fine, the view was first class and the breakfast was great. The pool bar is also very cool and cozy.
The "Jasna" restaurant, which is within walking distance, serves authentic Slovenian cuisine in a family business. The man cooks the best dishes and the apple strudel is out of this world

Stayed in the main hotel, awful Service at the reception, cannot communicate through telephone or email. Absolutely inapropriate is that they dont answers the telephone for help from hotel room. It was hot in the room, they decline to repair. Poor oom comfort and food.
Much too expensive for the price. Horrible unfirendly staff …

Villa Palma 3* is really nice. Rooms are renovated and those that have a sea view are amazing. Restaurant Kamin has some tasty food to try and the breakfest was good too. The price is exceptable but a bit expensive in the summer time.
