Hotel is on a very beautiful location, but that is all good about it. In my opinion price performance doesn't work (small outdated furniture, just one socket in the room,...). I am really sory but I have to mention that as a guest I felt very unwelcom. The stuff was unfriendly- especially in the breakfast area. Whatvever you asked for, it felt like asking too much even just for ordinary coffee. And the same story at the reception- I came there because I wanted to ask something, two receptions seen me waiting but just kept on having their conversation and did not bother about me. The only person who deserves four stars is Darja from reception!
Real unpleasant stuff!! Firstly we sat outside and we asked which white wine they have and the lady said, everything you want (she did not suggest which wine they have or something) and we said, okay do you have Chardonnay Štoka and she said that she doesn't know and she need to look. Of course they didn't have that wine and she also did not suggest other wine that they have. Also she said they do not serve food outside. Secondly, we went inside to have lunch and they said to us, that we need a reservation, which we didn't have. After 5 minutes (we stay there, because we needed to feed a baby) other couple came and they didn't have reservation, but they had a place for them. How come?! So, in my opinion it depends who you are, or what. Avoid this hotel.
With the flooding in Venice we had to find alternative accommodation and decided to explore Slovenia while sitting down for dinner I made a search for a hotel and found the Hotel Marina and booked for two night. This ended up one of the most amazing adventures for a long time we were met buy extremely helpful and friendly staff treating us to an amazing experience nothing was to much trouble and the restaurant was excellent with great food and a good selection of wine. The location is great and the town a good experience for the two days we spent here. I highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant great value for money
My wife and me spent 6 great days in Izola, at the MARINA Hotel in September. The hotel is really, really good. It is located on the coast, almost in the center of Izola. Very close to the city's public beach. The rooms are quite large, very comfortable, some of them with very large balconies. The rooms are very clean, just like the rest of the hotel. The food is excellent. Both self served breakfast and daily meals at the hotel restaurant, with plenty of fish and other seafood specialties. A minor problem is insufficient hotel parking, but very friendly receptionists will provide you adequate parking elsewhere near the hotel. They will even drive you to your car. We have already booked a room for next year!
We had a room with a private balcony overlooking the sea which was lovely. Room was spacious and clean with nice bathroom. Balcony was large enough for 2 loungers and a table with 2 chairs. It was nice to sit out there and watch the world go by. Restaurant food was good and the price was reasonable. The breakfast buffet was very good although the fruit juice was a bit watery. The hotel has reserved parking spaces on the harbour. It was my mother in law's birthday while we were there and they brought to her room a bottle of complimentary champagne which was a nice touch.
