Saw a sign to the hotel and dropped in to see if they had a room available. We were well received by a very helpful lady at the front desk. Took the room and so glad we did. Parking was very convenient and the very short walk to the hotel restaurant for breakfast was most enjoyable ... as was the breakfast. The location of this facility was perfect ... on the coast of the Adriatic and a short and relaxing walk to the village of Izola.

Before we checked in, I called the hotel three times to check about parking, but no response. We checked in to the hotel yesterday and were greeted by two rude and arrogant staff members at the reception. Finding key information is like a scavenger hunt. The phone number of the reception remains a secret. Next, the building of the hotel Mirta has an awful smell, as the carpets were cleaned and, I assume, not dried properly. This morning's breakfast was acceptable enough, but undrinkable coffee in 2020 is unforgivable. Parking is free for guests, but not guaranteed (??). The only good thing about the resort is the beach, which seems to be public and not connected to the hotel anyway.

This hotel is an avarage hotel of all. it has 5 buildings and 3 of them are 3stars and the rests are 4 star equipped. When we booked the rooms at the agency in Szeged, Hungary, we wanted the 4 star one and payed for the 4 star one. My father had only 2 wishes no stairs and fridge in the room. Well NONE of them came true. We had rooms on the 2nd floor on the first day and no fridge in none of the rooms plus the rooms were in the 3 star part. Whatever..... Since my dad cant climb the stairs I wanted them to give hime at least a room on the ground floor. Well he got on the second day... no lift, no fridge... I cant decide who's fault it was the agency or the hotel... The beach itself is clean and good enough for kids as well....Breakfast was about 200meters from our apartment but was very deliscious. You could have anything you like... I can tell anything... Basically it has a 3 star review.... I think I would go back but I would be more circumspect.

Room Tip: Rooms are more silent on the south but choose a room in the 4 star part...not much difference...

I stayed at the Mirto building and had a seaview room on the third floor - the room, the balcony and the view were perfect. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was also spotless and equipped with a very good shower. The restaurant building is located just a few steps down the hill and although the building and decor itself are nothing special, a huge room with tables, the buffet was always delicious, breakfast, lunch and dinner. A good selection of food, enjoyed all of it. The beach is super crowded on a sunny day and the chairs with umbrellas are also quite expensive - 15-20 euros per set, although you can get a discount if you’re staying at the hotel. Seems that locals don’t mind just lying on the grass or concrete either, so watch your step! Sea is nice there but so full of people that the water hardly seems clean... Still, it was all right for a few days, I enjoyed it and had a good time.

We stayed in Hotel Haliaetum which is supposed to be a 4* accomodation. The room was spacious enough but the furniture was dated. We only got 3 sets of towels prepared even though they knew perfectly well that there would be 4 of us. The cleaner lady didn't came in on our first full day. The hotel doesn't have a private beach, it can be used by everybody even non guests. You have to pay extra to use anything (slides, fridge, sunbeds, etc). Food was actually delicious there was different seefood every night among others, and fusy eaters and kids can also find something to eat. There are healthy options too. On certain older waitress was really rude, but management handled the situation well, somehow it seemed that they had some routine. Overall I think it's an overpriced hotel, I suggest you find somewhere else.

This was my first visit to the Slovenian coast and it was worth trying. A nice clean place with nice saunas and considerably good food. Nice to walk along the coast to Izola. No traffic and very quiet

San Simon Hotel Resort are actually 6 separate hotel/depandance buildings standing near each other. When I booked it, I could't pick it myself. We stayed in Hotel Mirta. Very nice location. Large, excellent room, clean and cosy. Food was good. Parking space was available for free at the time of my staying. Reception, pool and fitness are in the main building (hotel Haliaetum) 100m away from the Hotel Mirta. San Simon Hotel Resort is 600 m away from the Izola Marina and 2 km from Izola city centre. Izola is a nice and pleasant town, with good restaurants. Great place to escape from everyday routine and to relax.

We stayed in family room in Hotel Mirna. Room is nicely furnished and spacious, it also has big balcony. Beach is near and there are alot of playgrounds for children. It would be nice if they would also have a playcorner in the dining room and if they would actualy left the food until the end of breafast so we woudn’t have to hurry every morning. Also in october all the bars on the beach were closed, so you can’t even buy ice cream.

In the period when I was beginning of September the hotel was occupied in 95% by older people. September period is already season. Quiet and very peaceful. Breakfast for 7 days identical. Unfortunately, the chef did not have any fare. Probably in season everything works differently.

I've stayed in this resort just two days as we were on our way back home. It's very good location but can't say that the hotel was a good one. We've stayed at "Perla" (there are 4 or 5 buildings that makes the resort) and it is quite dated. No fridge in the room but the AC was OK. Anyway the place is near to the town and it is really a beautiful small quaint town of fishers. We didn't care that the beach was crowded, the sea was dirty and slide very old and worn. But if you're looking for that holiday is not the best place. The breakfast is good and there is plenty of choice .There are all the facilities in walking distance. There are tennis courts and wellness hotel as well but we didn't use them. We had a great time but certainly because of the location not because of the hotel.
