To say that the Mt. Williamson Motel and Base Camp in Independence, CA is merely a great place to stay is an understatement. The owner -- Cris Chater, aka "Strider" -- runs a finely-tuned operation that anticipates the needs of hikers and goes above and...More

This motel is the best! Mini-cabins with modern, updated decor. Cozy and pleasant. Our cabin was clean and fresh. We were hiking the John Muir Trail and Mt Williamson provides transportation and resupply. We couldn't have completed the trail without it. But the best part...More

Nothing new to add except that the actual property seems small to me. If Strider does allow long term parking it may be on a first come basis. Definitely call first.

The Paiute Suite has a full kitchen. All of the cabins/rooms have heaters. Cabin #6 has an outdoor fire pit.
