our hotel and our holiday review. we went as a family of 5 adults. Booked a package trip with Tui. Three brilliant rooms. Upgrade for ours as I requested not to be put near any lifts and we were placed by two, so very quickly the manger switched and upgraded us. As a collective we can't find fault with this hotel. It's a four star but felt how I imagine how a 5 star to feel. Covid restrictions the same as here so like for like and easy to follow. Hotel was fuller on arrival but mid week went down my hotel and holiday review. We booked a package holiday with tui. We are a family of 5 adults. Our three rooms were perfect. Top floor a must but not near lift shafts as they are to close to the suites doors, in my opinion. The hotel is large and has several resort areas to use. Outdoor pools are closed this time of the year. Covid puta stop to some activities. when we arrived the hotel was a quarter full and it went down to just a few rooms. You can imagine the service we received in every location in the hotel. The whole standard with this huge hotel was excellent. I might go as far to say I can't imagine it's the same in peak season. When it's full. The casino was massive. Indoor heated pool was spa heated quality feel. Food and service excellent. Drinks cheap cocktails cheaper.locatiin is central too. Local car hire was a great way to see more than hop on hop off tours and was cheaper for a week than 1 trip for 5 adults. We used Josef car hire- literally one street away, no fancy big car hire name signs but everything you need to hite a car, again no complaints. Automatic yaris did the trick. It was £5 to use the car park. We drove all over as it's the same side as our roads so it made it easier. We drove to Gozo, boarded the ferry- all very easily done with this size car especially parking on deck. watch Your speed limits they vary quickly. Park in white boxes only not on any corners or your be fined. The island being so small everywhere is within easy reach and no drama. Everyone had their masks on all the time. When we took ours off for a photo we quickly popped it back on as the Maltese where not removing their marks at all. So a instant street fine on foot by the police if your caught with it off. We can't recommend Mdina the silent old city enough. We had it to ourselves again we were very lucky. Narrow streets with baroque buildings vistas to die for is our thing but mixed with film and tv buffs and crowds of people is NOT our sort of thing, so I highly recommend you visit out of peak season if you want to capture those iconic shots. or sunrise or sunset. It could be hateful in high season. It's such a stunning place. Our drone shots are amazing on the island btw. Valletta was beautiful - sea gate - cathedrals -bell tower, st Elmo fort where a siren is sounded once a day and everyday to honour those who lost their lives in ww1 and ww2. Upper Barack gardens are stunning and you get a single canon firing display daily at 4 pm well worth a visit. Views that will stay with you for ever too. Cafe and bars are fab too. Car parking was outside of the city it was 2 euros. we arrived at 10 and the free car park was full so we went to the main central car park. Lots of car parks at the visitor sires on the island we found are free, some car park's have parking attendants who ask you to donate a small fee. You don't have to pay but it's maybe 2 euros is all they require. Keep change in your car. Mosta church and town a must see with the war shelters. Sliema quay side was with a look zara shop was huge Italian restaurant line the quayside. Man u supporters club was fan in Msida Dingly cliffs sunset St Paul bay scenic view Medina outstanding All of Gozo, Sea the blue hole inland diving, gginatia unesco temples - city cathedrals just beautiful. The weather is unpredictable in January -march they said so don't plan everything to a certain day it's an island so be flexible and go with each days morning forecast for your trips out. it was 13-15 degrees so not to cold for this time of the year. Lots to see and do. I imagine in the summer when everything is open and running it's a hive of holiday fun. It Just would be too busy for us.

Very good hotel. We will definitely come back . Beautifully situated, clean with beautiful pools. We had an all inclusief option which I highly recommend. Brand alcohol and ala carte food in the Delos restaurant, not just a buffet. All hotel employees are very nice and professional. We would like to thank you very much for the excellent service provided by the Delos employee, especially Mr. Darwin. Regards, we recommend the Dolmen hotel to everyone.

We spent 1 week in the Dolmen in the beginning of September. Check-in: we were given the wrong room. We specifically booked a room with balcony and were given a room without. It was already 8 pm and we returned to reception to ask for the room change. It took a long time for the lady to find us another room, and there was no one to move our bags - disappointing. Room: was nice, with a lovely balcony, cleanliness ok, but little things (there was a window from the bathroom and just outside there was rubbish left by other guests)¨ Breakfast: very British, there are two breakfast rooms, no logical system, every time guests were asked to eat in the bigger room even though the smaller (and cozier) room was not full at all. Lots of guests not properly wearing masks. Pools: nice, but more staff needed to clean up after the mostly British guests leaving all their rubbish on the floor and not bothering bringing it to the trash bin themselves. Service: soso, sometimes we ordered drinks by the pool, sometimes some food on the terrace, it was a bit a hit-and-miss. Our favorite place by far was the area by the water with the beach chairs, a lovely place to spend the afternoon and jumping in the ocean. Overall, we liked the hotel for the access to the sea, and the location, however service has some room for improvement.

Dear chivisr2015, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback with regards to your stay at the Dolmen hotel. We appreciate your comments regarding our outdoor area and our Amazonia Beach Club. We apologize for not allocating a room with a balcony on your arrival., but I am happy that our flexible Front Office team could sort it out for you immediately. Thank you for mentioning your satisfaction with your second room, even though you mentioned some concerns, which will be forwarded to the corresponding department. We offered to our guests two breakfast rooms during the summer, for the comfort of our guests and to guarantee social distancing due to Covid restrictions. A host was delegating people equally in the 2 restaurants. Your concerns regarding the service are noted and kept in mind for our next summer operation. Keeping up to our commitment in providing a memorable experience with exceptional service, we do look forward to welcome you again to our hotel in the near future. Regards, Guest Relations Manager Vicky Zammit
