The Porto Azzurro is a family-run Aparthotel located in a quiet area known as Xemxija in St.Paul's Bay. We are complimented with views of the Maltese countryside. The apartments and hotel rooms are comfortable and provide a luxurious base for a truly relaxing holiday. The main towns nearby are Mellieha, St Pauls Bay and the tourist resort of Bugibba. The sandy beaches of Golden Sands and Mellieha Bay are less than 3 kilometres away. All the apartments have a bathroom or shower en suite, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchenette complete with a microwave oven, television, safety deposit box and direct dial telephone. Away from busy streets, our hotel is 15 minutes by bus to Mellieha and the tourist resort of Bugibba (Bus stop Circa 75 metres). The hotel is within walking distance to other restaurants and the seaside promenade overlooking the bay.

This three star hotel is excellent value for money. I have stayed here on many occasions. The staff are always helpful and courteous. Alexis Vella the customer services manager has always been so helpful with any issue which might arise. She deals promptly with all communications whether phone calls or e mails.Iam staying at the Porto Azzurro next week for the fourteen'th time

Another great stay at this hotel. Reading these negative reviews, might put you off however you have to try to judge. I must mention that the breakfast is much better down the road so don't bother eating here. Staff are always pleasant, rooms clean and whatever you need, just ask reception. Contact Alexis directly and she will help you with anything you need. Bus stop down the hill. Thank you for a pleasant stay

My husband daughter and myself visited this hotel in Sept 22 it was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in We asked for out towels to be changed and out rubbish to be collected after 3 days we were told we would have to take them down to reception as it was not our day for cleaners Old ran down hotel in a busy street with broken footpaths outside broken fridge and old pasta spilled in a shelf for god knows how long Ants in the press on around the rubbish People having a great time in the pool at 12 o clock at night with no supervision the pool seem to be open to the public We were very disappointed and we won't be back The pictures of rooms advertised are not there Old and dilapidated hotel Sheila Ireland

Facilities as advertised not available. No restaurant, no mini-market. Pool & poolside bar no longer owned by hotel. Bar closed early. We stayed B&B but no menu available. 1st day breakfast options were ham & melon or ham & cheese toastie. Very disappointed. Definitely would not recommend

Dear Guest, Thank you for your positive 5 - star rating. It's s nice to see that you enjoyed your stay with us at Porto Azzurro Aparthotel. I tend to agree with you as it is so unfair that people can write such horrible reviews. Should someone have a complaint they can easily do this during their stay and we can tackle it straight away! We would love to welcome you again as soon as possible, and we are really looking forward to this. Once again, thank you for your loyalty and for recommending our hotel to other travellers. Great family apart-hotel, we stayed in - 2 bed apartment very clean and spacious with a small but well appointed kitchenette, much needed cool aircon and 2 balconies over looking the beautiful bay which gave us hours of entertainment. The pool area was clean and tidy with plenty of sun loungers, we all enjoyed using the pool. Pool bar was cash only but offered a variety off drinks and some hot food, sadly no menu so at times was unclear what was available. The on-site shop and restaurant both closed due to staff shortages - so we had to use the local store or venture down to the BeachHaven 300 metres down the road (which was lovely and I highly recommend). Also great swimming/snorkelling off the pontoon in the bay. Over our week stay we used the buses to venture all over the island (would recommend getting the app to get up to date routes timings, Valletta is about 50 mins away but worth the ride). Thank you to the hard working, cheerful staff that made us feel very welcome.

The lady In booking Alexis and Jan in the reception, is the best for this hotel, inkl free transfer if you book direct at the hotel-There for 2 stars from us. So disappointed 😌 We Think it was Dirty, and the Air con noisy and works only on full speed :( not good when the bed is right under the cool air. When turning it of, it spilled its water on our balcony- soaking our clothes on the dry-hanger. The bar/pool area is something else 🙃 maybe sold /leased out from the hotel, (we guess) as its a hole other story over there = no service at all, no toilet paper in the very dirty toilets, asking the reception for some, they say it’s the bar’s responsibility- and make plans in weekends, as they sell sunbeds to the local Maltese people, so the guests can not find a free sunbeds that day. We will recommend you to book in Mellieha instead- you’ll like it there

Pros Comfortable room and clean bathroom, fine balcony, functional fridge to store water and soft drinks and a safe is also available to store personal belongings. Reception staff pleasant overall bar one. Room was cleaned everyday, cleaning staff courteous. Close proximity to bus-stops (local Bus service is excellent) , a convenient store and some excellent restaurants. Got a free excursion as a result of booking for more than 5 nights at the hotel. Free trip to and from Malta airport ATM at the hotel is a huge plus. Vending machine also available Fine swimming pool Library is also there Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas Value for money Perfect location if you want a relaxing holiday. Cons Shop closed due staff shortages €10 deposit for TV remote not that we needed it. Bar person at pool unpleasant and made issue of returning plastic glasses which I did when finished. Had to leave key in everytime we left the hotel. Overall My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Porto Azzurro.

My friend and I visited this hotel in May. It was my first time in Malta and I wasn't disappointed. The hotel pleasant and our room was clean tidy and we had a love terrace to sit out too. Thee pool was defo the star of the show it was amazing and we had lots of beautiful days laying out there soaking up the sun. There were plenty of sun beds and I had several swims in the pool. Only a short walk to the sea and a little restaurant we went to for breakfast and dinner. It was really lovely and the women behind reception were really lovely and helpful. I will definitely go there again.
