Spacious & clean room, breakfast fine. Usual problem with buffet food however - it wasn't hot enough. Staff were friendly. Location is good for transport and plenty of good restaurants nearby. This was an organised tour for single travellers.
( Doing review on behalf of my mum ) This Hotel is nothing other than great on arrival at the Airport my luggage wasn’t to be seen so arrived at Santana Hotel quite distressed . A lovely lady called Jennifer Scerri ( The guest relations officer ) put me at ease , she was fabulous , even though I was upset Jennifer’s customer service expertise was 1st class . My case turned up late the following evening from the airline and everyone was so happy and pleased for me to have my personal belongings . An amazing hotel with such great genuine lovely people that work / represent the Hotel .
Had a lovely time staying at this hotel! The indoor pool was a great way to relax and the breakfasts had lots of options which varied each day! The Hotel staff were also really friendly and helpful as it was our first time in Malta. Mehuddina who worked in reception shared lots of useful information such as local amenities and activities depending on what you like, at a good price too and very well organised. I’d definitely recommend staying at this hotel and will be back ourselves!
Arrived on 16th June for 3 nights, we rarely get a chance to getaway so after a trying trip and our phones ringing since we got off the plane we were happy to park our rental (free parking right across the road from hotel) an entered a well air conditioned lobby and greeted by the most friendliest receptionist with a big smile ( we knew we were in good hands). We were celebrating our engagement and were looking for wedding venues in Malta and they had kindly upgraded us to a lovely suite with a local bottle of red with some homemade pastries awaited us on arrival, to our very well air conditioned spacious room with balcony and big bathroom. We had everything we needed in the room on 7th floor. Breakfast had a great selection and everything was available for each taste. Service was good and never had to wait for a table. Pool area was clean, not overcrowded and had a bar and food available, which we didn't have but good it was there. I missed breakfast one morning and ate in Cafe it was lovely and good portions, fast service and reasonably priced. We had a night cap most nights there also and a very tall cocktail maker was always on hand to help and even went out of his way to make a special cocktail even when he was super busy. We encountered many staff all more friendly and helpful that the last . This hotel had a big volume of guests most I suspect are budget travellers but don't let that put you off it has great location good clean facilities ( we will most certainly be back) If you are looking for a very special meal go around the corner to a place called Surf and Turf- its absolutely outstanding and a real treat.…
This is a nice central location to stop in with a nice restaurant and the staff is OK but I paid for a comfort room and what I got is a small basic room with two single beds put together with a inch gap in the middle and a bloody awful view on the ground floor. It was not worth the money I paid for it I expected something bigger and not on the ground floor even if it was over looking the car park. But I must say the food was very good 👍
Nice clean hotel with friendly staff in a quiet area. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food (breakfast & evening meal). The only criticism I have was the fact that 50 % of the tables, in the restaurant were reserved for people that never appeared, whilst I was in there, which made it hard to find somewhere to eat once you collected your food! Pool is on the roof and places to sun yourself are plentiful. Friends of mine have returned year after year and I think I probably will too.
Stayed for 4 nights bed and breakfast, the hotel was spotless clean, the room large and comfortable, the breakfast varied and plentiful with ample sun loungers around the pool and terraces. Reasonable prices for drinks in the hotel. The hotel is central with restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Fabulous service and advice from Graham who sells tours from his office/car opposite the hotel reception, he’ll find the tours to suit your needs on the days you require them at good rates too
Having been restricted by Covid it was great to be back at the Santana for our 7th visit. Since we were there last, Christmas week 2019, the restaurant had been refurbished and we were excited to see the new improvements, we were not disappointed. The food was excellent great selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner, unfortunately there are always guests who moan about the food. But as I observed, if the chefs are informed of different dietary requirements they will provide suitable alternative meals. Our bedroom was a exceptional, with everything required and a great view of the car park and field beyond. All areas are clean. The one outstanding asset of the hotel is its staff. Nothing is ever too much for them from the maintenance man to the receptionist to all the bar staff. Special mention go to Karin and Anton in the restaurant, the Santana would not be the same without these two. These two help make our holiday and we were so please to see them after the past two years. The Santana is in a great position, in easy walking distance to the bus station. But if like us hire a hire a car we would highly recommend Mirage Car Rental in Tourist Street. Favourite bar, just across the road from the hotel, Alixs Bar. The only down side to the holiday experience was the attitude and behaviour of certain continental guest towards the staff and other guests. Thank you to everyone at The Santana and we will be back.…
This hotel is a couple of blocks back from the seafront so has no sea views. It is a smart and well kept hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and nice but they do an odd thing with the aircon, notswitching it on until 3pm. You can have an all inclusive package which includes all food and a good selection of drinks. The food is quite good but a bit variable and the spirit drinks are very weak. The local beer (Cisk) is good though. The main problem we had was noise from other guests into the early hours. The hotel has its own open atrium with balconies from the rooms. Some guests sit out late and talk loudly and it echoes all around and canbe heard inside all the other rooms. The bedroom doors also make a big noise when they shut and echo alldown the corridors. Overall it’s a pretty good hotel but has an unfortunate mixture of guests. Probably not suited to older people.…
