Hotel Santana offers a dynamic experience with its vibrant atmosphere and entertainment options, although the volume may not be everyone's cup of tea. While some guests commend the room sizes and cleanliness, others feel the decor could use a refresh and note disturbances from noise. The location earns high marks for its convenience to transportation and local attractions. Service quality is generally well-regarded, especially for the courteous staff, although there are occasional hiccups with room and spa services. Travelers are divided on value, with opinions ranging from praise for affordability to concerns over cost vs. amenities.

Stayed at The Santana hotel for a short break from 7th Jan until 11th and had a fabulous time. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite and the hotel was spotless. We stayed in a standard room which I was surprised to discover was quite spacious, the bed was huge. My partner thought the mattress was a little hard but I found it fine. I slept very well. There was a bottle of wine and some homemade chocolates in the room which we thought was a nice treat. There was a built in fridge which was handy. We had a balcony to sit on, unfortunately it was on the side of the hotel facing another building so the view wasn't great but that didn't bother us. The bathroom was on the small side but adequate, lovely walk in shower and a powerful hairdryer. The breakfast room was very bright, plenty of space and the variety of food was amazing. Everything from cold buffet, warm pastries and of course hot cooked bacon, eggs, etc. On the morning of departure because we had to be at the airport before the breakfast room was open the hotel provided a variety of breakfast items, tea, coffee, etc in the reception area. We didn't go in the large outdoor pool as the water was too cold but we did use the indoor one which was lovely and warm. There was a jacuzzi, sauna( 3 euros) and a massage salon in the same area. You can obtain swimming towels from reception for a 5 euro refundable payment. The only criticism of the indoor pool was lack of changing facilities, we had to change in the toilet area and this was quite a cold area. The bar area is quite small but the drinks are competitively priced and they had entertainment on 2 out of the 4 nights that we stayed in the hotel. We are getting married at the hotel in July so we took this trip to check out the hotel and to get a feel for the area. I have never been to Malta before and my partner was last there over 50 years ago. The location was great, five minutes to the bus station, beach and shopping areas. If you want to go on trips you can book them at the hotel and you get collected from the door. If I had to make a negative comment it would be that the patio furniture needs replacing as some of the seats were broken. All in all we had a fabulous time and can't thank the staff enough they were amazing. Really looking forward to returning in July.

We booked 9 nights in the Santana Hotel Qawra and we couldn't complain because when our air condition was blocked they changed our room in 10 minutes and we had a problem with our door which wouldn't lock and this was on an early Sunday as we were planned to go a day out swimming and the maintenance man was sent up immediately to repair the lock.
The rooms are cleaned and supplied well and the late music on Friday finishes around 11pm and the room has all the amenities you would need like tea and coffee facilities and hair dryer and safe in wardrobe and tv and small fridge too.
There is entertainment every evening and indoor and outdoor pools. At the moment their spa treatment is being refurbished but they book you in with the Qawra Palace Hotel and that was a 100% relaxation and treatment as they have many types of body massages to treat yourself too at reasonable prices.
The breakfast is basic what you usually find in any 3 to 4 star hotels and there is an indoor bar downstairs and we had a room with a balcony which you would stay out on during the slight cooler evenings as the day time and afternoon you would remain inside the room with the air condition on constantly as the heat in august in Malta can be very tremendous.
And there is Ubers and car rental available in Qawra which can be somewhat a little less time consuming then the local bus transport which take take a great deal of your precious time stopping and going behind the dense traffic congestion which has sadly left a dull effect on visitors wanting to travel on to go to places around the lovely island of Malta.
A tip I would give is to leave early wherever you are planning to visit as the traffic flow augments by the minute so avoid that by setting your alarm early!
A great hotel set in the heart of the Qawra with Bugibba Plaza and bus terminus just 5 minutes away!

W spent 4 nights here and we had a great stay. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms maybe a bit dated but they're clean and comfortable. Ours was a standard room and had a small kitchen area with everything you'd need together with a sofa bed , a dining table and chairs. There was also a decent sized balcony with 2 sun loungers, a couple of chairs and a table. Meals were good and there was always plenty. For the price you're not going to get a luxury boutique hotel with gourmet food. Can't comment on the spa and pools as we didn't use them.
The location is great as you're not that far from the sea front with plenty of bars, restaurants and small supermarkets on the doorstep. It's handily placed for the bus station which is a few minutes walk away. If you want to get around then you can get a bus to just about anywhere on the island. They can be a bit busy but they're clean & regular and at either two euros fifty or three euros ( depends on the bus route ) per journey we couldn't fault them. We'd definitely stay here again !

Hotel Santana is a fabulous hotel well worthy of its 4 star rating and in my opinion is well worthy of 5 stars. The Hotel enjoys an excellent position in St Paul's bay which allowed me to easily explore Malta using my bus pass which cost only 19 euros (ÂŁ16) then in the evenings I could choose from numerous first class restaurants and bars, or as I often did enjoy the facilities provided in the Hotel. The staff are superb always ready to offer me first class service with a smile, caring and friendly attitude. The room that I was allocated was stunning with a exceptionaly large balcony catching the morning sunshine, and each day was cleaned to a high standard by the hardworking house keepers. I was so impressed by Hotel Santana that one of the first things that I will do upon my return to the UK is to rebook for next year.
Thank you Hotel Santana...

A great hotel it was our first stay at the Santana my husband booked it for my birthday was supposed to be a surprise but he is hopeless with the internet so he had to tell me . When we arrived about 10.30am we couldn’t get into rooms till 2pm which didn’t bother us as they let us put our luggage in a room for luggage as it was our 6th visit to malta and we always stayed in this area we knew our way around and just went for something to eat and drink while our room was ready . The room we had was on the 3rd floor and was a family room which was big it had 4 beds in , a sofa , table and four chairs , a large wardrobe with safe , a big Chesterdrawers and plenty of other space . It had a kettle with a tray with cups , tea ,coffee, milk etc and also a mini fridge so we was well impressed. The beds were comfortable to sleep in and the pillows are comfortable too . The bathroom was big with a bath and a shower which was powerful and had plenty of hot water . We stayed half board and the food was fantastic and that’s a first for me to say because I,m a fussy eater so well done to the chefs and kitchen staff the desserts were plenty lovely gateaus , ice cream and fruit they was also cheese and crackers . The restaurant staff were very polite and cleaned tables promptly would happily dine here again . The hotel has 2 pools one on roof and a indoor pool with a jacuzzi . The rooms were cleaned daily very spotless the staff were very polite and helpful if you needed anything you just had to ask and they would get it you , the bar we used sometimes as we knew a lot of the pubs in area and went out most nights but the cocktails at the bar were luscious especially the pinacolodas very nice so I would like to thank the management and all staff at this hotel for a wonderful stay I had the best birthday and one of the best stays in malta so for will definitely be booking here again

We have stayed in this hotel before and chose to return for Christmas and new year with family. What a huge mistake we have made this has deteriorated to be one-of the noisiest hotels I have had the misfortune to stay in. From bins being emptied outside before 6am most days, to no soft closure on any doors so if a door is closed on your floor you all hear it. When any neighbouring room flushes their lavatory we all hear it. Last night we had a very inebriated German gentleman singing Christmas songs at the top of his voice at 3am. Today I needed to stay in my room as I had a bad migraine and it has been impossible to get any rest or relaxation as there has been constant noise from the room next door (sawing, back , crashing, furniture scraping along the floor) I am going to contact my holiday company to try and get moved out of this hotel as it is unacceptable.

I chose to holiday in Malta with TravelOne whose bookings manager, Paul is the rep for this holiday. Paul and I had talked many times on the phone but never actually met before. I arrived in the early hours of the morning and the check-in procedure at the Santana was swiftly carried out and I was in my room very quickly. First impression of the room was how big it was, how nice the bathroom with its walk in shower. I had numerous dietary requirements that had been transmitted efficiently to whichever chef was in charge and each night the chef would come out of the kitchen to the servery and advise me which dishes I could eat and which he could prepare omitting the foods I cannot eat and which desserts I could have.
I visited the spa many times during my week's stay having massage, reflexology, facial, and manicure. Each treatment was carried out with the utmost professionalism and with warmth. Truly those treatments were amongst the best I have ever experienced. My thanks go especially to Claudia and Jana. Love you both xx
In the dining room, the service was excellent with tables being cleared and reset promptly so whenever you arrived it always felt fresh and nicely presented. Staff were friendly, polite and kind.
Throughout the hotel, any staff I encountered always said Good morning or evening Ma'am, always the right mixture of polite and friendly.
I loved the pool bar and its music, especially Cheerleader by Felix Jaehn which staff were always prepared to give one last play. The only thing on the pool bar menu that I could eat was the Tuna Nicoise Salad but it was so delicious I was happy to eat it every day.
Apologies if I have left anyone out of this review because you were all so wonderfully kind to me. I hope to return as soon as circumstances allow

There are very large rooms and very small ones. We were unlucky enough that we got the smallest one. Just open the bed, there is no place to open the suitcase comfortably and you hear everyone passing through the hallway. It smelled pretty weird. Also, being on the first floor inside, every night you could hear the music of the hotel bar. The cleaning service is also not very good, the first day we returned to the hotel about 15:30 and still had not cleaned our room. Last day we saw shoeprints in the shower. We had not had the worn amenities replaced and I had to claim them several times at reception. The spa service is also bad, we hired the same massage as other guests and we were not given it completely. The head massage was horrible. There are flies in the dining room. The cafeteria service is very slow and after waiting an hour for the food to be brought, we were told that one of the dishes could not be served.

Stayed a week at the Santana in April, we were on a Newmarket Tour. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Shower gel, hand soap and also Tea and coffee was included in the room. The hotel is centrally located and ideal for the bus station with multiple shops, bars and restaurants near by. The hotel bar has plenty of room inside and a small outside area for when the sun is out. The cocktails were very good, especially 2 for 1 happy hour every day. We were booked on half board and there was plenty to eat. The restaurant is buffet style at breakfast and dinner and has a very high standard with plenty to choose from. The pool on the roof is a good size although a bit cool in April, so we used the indoor pool which is a lovely temperature and also has a large jacuzzi attached. Pool towels can be hired for 5 euro which is refunded on return. We loved Malta and would definitely go back to hotel Santana.

Stayed here for 1 week in October we can not fault this lovely hotel it is in a nice quiet location but handy to everything there is a bus stop just round the corner. This hotel is spotless rooms cleaned every day you can get pool towels for a €5 deposit which is refunded when you hand them back plus you can change them when needed. Rooms were lovely and for once we found the bed very comfortable!! Nice size balcony too. We loved the roof top pool there is loads of sun loungers and sun bathing on different floor levels so no shortage of sun loungers. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was so nice too. The dining room was big there was lots of different food available at meal times salads fruit and a selection of hot meals from rabbit fish meats and gorgeous deserts we were half board plus so there was wine beer tea coffee soft drinks on tap. I loved the breakfast different breads cereals fruit yoghurts etc and of course hot breakfast sausage bacon eggs etc there was a few different toast tea coffee juice stations so you were able to make toast etc right away. The staff work very hard clearing away plates etc straight away. There is a lady in the hotel who arranges trips etc but we used graham who is right outside the hotel every day. We will definitely be back again only problem I have is we should of booked for 2 weeks!! My mum in law came with us and the hotel put us in rooms next door to each other room 403 and 405 so thank you for that I loved the fact we had a small fridge tea coffee facility in our rooms. There is a shop few doors down we bought our fresh milk in there. If you are reading this review go ahead and book it we so enjoyed our stay thanks for a great holiday we will see you again pauline kev Northern Ireland
