Set on an isolated gentle slope to the North of Malta, the Salini Resort commands spectacular open views of Salini Bay and the Mediterranean Sea. This stylish hotel is decorated to high standards with much attention to detail. The palette of colours for the decor is inspired by the natural earthy tones of the beautiful Mediterranean scenery. These muted tones, together with a mix of textures of Maltese hard stone and rubble walls, typical of the Maltese landscape, create an ambience of elegant timelessness, calm and peace. Capturing the spirit of the Mediterranean, the Salini Resort is truly a haven away from the hustle and bustle of our rushed modern lives and a stay with us is guaranteed to leave you energised and refreshed. Boasting a total of 240 brightly-lit, stylishly-furnished spacious rooms enjoying either sea or countryside views, the Salini Resort is the ideal hotel for every holiday maker. Whether you are looking for a chill-out weekend break or an ideally-located hotel to explore Malta by car, or as part of your walking or trekking holiday, the hotel's excellent location, Food & Beverage facilities and its peaceful and tranquil surroundings make it the perfect destination for any trip or event.

Many positive points for this hotel. Regarding the hotel itself, very clean and well arranged. The hotel is quite well positioned. Close to other islands and not far from tourist places. You can easily park at the parking lot (non-paying). The hotel has 3 restaurants where you can eat for all prices. Regarding the breakfast, typical English, bread, fruit, quite complete. Regarding the room, the sea view is incredible. The bed is very spacious, the same for the room. Clean and modern equipment. The staff is very kind and especially attentive. We had to call the reception for some personal concerns and we always had a person who helped us in the following minutes. We could have put 5/5 if the wellness center was a little more improved. It remains, on the whole, correct. However, the water in the indoor pool is cold and once there are several people in it, you feel a little cramped. Special mentions: gluten free alternatives for the meal (top) / bar waiters for their good cocktails. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for the good times.

The following is an extract from an email I sent to the resort on 24 Oct 23 that has not been responded to as of 24 Nov 23. Overall we enjoyed our stay however there are a few things I think you should be made aware of. On arrival the shower drain in room 435 was blocked. A member of the maintenance quickly came to our room however even after he left we found it still did not drain correctly and we were limited to 2 minute showers before the shower tray over flowed. The toiletries (shampoo and conditioner) had not been replaced from the previous guest. The duvet cover had a large tear in the fabric. By far the largest concern was the lack of professionalism from the bar tender, Uros, on Saturday 21st Oct 23. I ordered some drinks to enjoy before dinner - 2 pina coladas and a margarita. He paid no attention to what he was doing (he was continuously speaking to one of the other guests). The pina coladas were not made correctly. He used very little coconut cream (about 50 ml for 2 drinks) and he completely forgot about the Malibu – I had to remind him after he had served the drinks, he then poured the Malibu in the top of the glass. The drinks were served in 2 different glasses, one tall soda glass and one short soda glass. When he started to make the margarita he added pineapple juice to the tequila and Cointreau (because he was distracted) which I pointed out to him. So he threw it all away and started again. Each of these drinks was strained by turning the top half of the Boston shaker over and inserting it into the bottom half to stop the ice. This means he was straining the drinks with the same part of the cocktail shaker that he had just been holding. I have managed a cocktail bar in the past – this is a lack of basic training and hygiene. After dinner I asked for 2 measures of Bajtra and a single Dalwhinnie 15 for myself. Instead of giving me a Dalwhinnie he poured a Talisker, but the receipt he gave me was for a Lagavulin. I did not correct him this time as I just wanted to go and sit with my wife and mother instead of retraining the hotel bar staff. The issues with the room can be easily overlooked as we really enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff were polite and friendly. Sadly dealing with your bar tender on the last day spoiled our opinion of your hotel.

Room was lovely, spacious, good air con, small fridge, clean bathroom. Room access is via a keycard, however I couldn't put any additional lock on. There is instruction on the door on how to put in on an additional lock via a button but it never worked despite requests for a fix. My friends door was the same. Something to consider if travelling alone. Requests to reception were dealt with quickly. Adult only pool is great. Location is quite remote but in-house options for food and drink are good, perfect for us for a few days of relaxing with friends.

We had a lovely time at the Salini Resort. We had an Executive Suite for our family- they made up two extra single beds which was helpful, so we didn’t have to make up sofa beds. It was spacious and the balcony was huge. It also had a small kitchen- we were B&B so didn’t really need it but if you want to have your own breakfast it would be handy. The room was clean and housekeeping was good. Breakfast was ok- it would’ve been nice to have more variety and options, especially healthy vegetarian options but it was absolutely fine and certainly not a reason not to stay here. We ate in the restaurant a few times, again fine. You can’t really walk anywhere from the hotel apart from the small beach opposite (which is quite cute!) but we used Bolt (like Uber) which was really efficient, and good value. You can also use Bolt food to get food delivered- both groceries and take away food. The pool outside was cold, but it was October so can’t really complain. Overall good value hotel, no complaints and would stay again! Thanks Salini Resort staff!

I must start by saying, I never leave negative reviews as I know how tough businesses work to maintain decent reputations. I also apologise to everyone about the length of this one, but I felt compelled to detail our experience so that others don’t go through what we did. I will start with the positives, the room was clean and tidy and the pool was nice. The other massive positive is that we fortunately only stayed 2 nights! Now the negatives. Where do I start. Firstly the shocking customer service. When we booked the hotel last minute to extend our stay in Malta we were quoted for two rooms (we are family of four) at £80 per night per room (total of £320 for two nights). This was the winter rate as their winter season starts on the 1st October which is also advertised within the hotel. They also didn’t have a room for 4 so that was the alternative they offered us. We excepted. When we arrived one of the rooms wasn’t ready and we were told would be ready in 1 hour (it eventually was ready about 4 hours later). We checked in to one room, paid the £320 and there was no mention of any more money to be paid at that stage. Roughly 4 hours later, with no apology, our second room was ready. We were then asked to pay another £320! They were claiming that we needed to pay £320 per room, which was the same rate as the luxury 5* hotels on the island (this hotel was far from that standard). We challenged them and they flatly denied the original quote / conversation and asked us to prove the quote in writing (everything was done over the phone). The first manager who came out to speak to us, who will remain nameless, essentially accused us of lying, and the best he could offer was an extra bed in our room. He also offered an extra room key for my 7 year old son, and then tried to charge us €1 for the privilege. That didn’t go down well as you can imagine. I am an extremely calm person, but even I was seeing red mist at this stage. Later the second manager saw us, and to his credit, acknowledged how bad the service had been and gave us the second room for free for the first night, and a couple of bottles of wine on the house. On the second day, they deactivated the room key with no warning and when we visited the front desk, they wanted to charge us £80 for the second room, and suggested the two free bottles of €10 wine acted as compensation, and we were back to where we started. In the end, all 4 of us had to squeeze in to a room for two people. Not a hint of an apology, and if anything, a really smug attitude behind the desk. The worst thing for the hotel is we were part of a big wedding party. Three other members of the family were also misled in to booking under false pretence. We genuinely believe that the hotel have major service, communication and honesty issues. We had a look around the island and there are many, many better hotels than this one. The service was the worst I have experienced in all my years of travelling, and on check out they didn’t even thank us for our custom, but instead sniggered to each other. Looks like they find mis-leading customers and a family of four having to squeeze in to 2 beds amusing. SHAME ON THEM. If they offered me a free stay, I wouldn’t take it. The whole situation created stress for my family, when we were supposed to be staying a few extra days to unwind and relax after a busy wedding. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. 1* is too many, but you can’t give negative points on trip advisor.

We have just returned from 11 days in the resort. Staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was nice, however we did skip a few days and had breakfast elsewhere for a change. Room beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, however the shower tray is a tad slippy. Stunning view from our room in n the 5th floor. We were not averse to walking as we averaged 5-6 miles daily even in the very hot weather they had, however nothing is really in walking distance of the hotel so the little onsite shop may be better suited to selling more essential items rather than souvenirs. Bolt taxis readily available and we also had bus travel cards so getting out and about wasn’t a problem. There is a beautiful pizza restaurant on site - just one lady in there who was a tad turse as we went in one night on the off chance and there was only 1 table in use and she rather abruptly questioned us not having a booking ! Gym, sauna and pools were good - however we did have one experience in the indoor pool one night when my eyes started to burn after swimming and my husband was as coughing constantly - I think perhaps the chlorine in the pool had been overdone. The pools aren’t heated but you get used to it after a few minutes. Overall it was a lovely hotel and the staff really were great

We arrived on Friday 6th October 2023, and leave Friday 13th Oct. We were welcomed by friendly reception staff, and when we could check in as our flight was early morning (15:00pm) check in. Our room was lovely and big, clean and everything you needed. If this is winter, at 28 to 30 degrees, dread how hot summer is here. There is plenty to see and do around Malta, and Salini resort provide a minibus service for guests to St.Julian and Buggiba, excellent driver. Highly recommend Valletta and Gozo, both are a full day trip out. Buses are easy to get from the Salini, would recommend sticking to thos advise, X1, 212, 13,14,16 bus service. Also use the hop on-hop off, firstly it works out cheaper, secondly you will see more attractions that you want to see. At Gozo definitely get the hop on-hop off bus, for 15 euro each we could relax l,and get off at sights we wanted and not feel rushed. If you opt for the normal bus at Gozo, your spend more time on a bus than seeing anything. Salini's staff have been friendly, and knowledgeable of things to do in and around the area. Food has been excellent wvery single day, varied fresh and tasty. Guiseppies cocktail bar has been nice to relax in the evening, after a day of sight seeing....Panos you the man, thank you for creating cocktails to suit my taste. We will be back to Malta again, but we are going to see other parts of the world first. Keep up the excellent service, Marc a d Annette, room 242.

My wife and I stayed at the Salini Resort for a week in September 2023. We really enjoyed our stay, the facilities are great with two outdoor pools, one being an adult only pool with a bar and restaurant, and the other pool for families with another poolside bar and Italian restaurant. We made good use of the gym, and also had a spa treatment on our last day which was great. The location is OK, it's quite a walk to the centre of Buggiba, but Bolt drives are plentiful with a very short wait for collection. The breakfast was to a good enough standard, with a pretty decent selection, however the package we booked didn't include b&b rate, so we had to pay €30 each morning for breakfast which is a bit steep. The only alternative would be to get a Bolt into town which would cost €7 each way anyway, so didn't make sense financially. The staff are pleasant enough, however we found a waitress in the Italian restaurant by the Infinity pool to be quite abrupt. The room was a good size, very comfortable and clean, with a lovely view overlooking St Paul's Bay. We will he recommending this resort to family and friends.

Just returned from 3 nights at this hotel with my two daughters celebrating a 30th birthday. The room was made up for the three of us with balloons and a bottle of wine which was lovely, did have to call housekeeping as although room was booked for three and beds were made there were only two of everything, glasses, towels etc but that was soon put right. Nice spacious room overlooking some trees with a small sunny balcony. Good shower and comfy bed. Breakfast was fine, all the usual you would expect from a buffet and there was plenty of seating and no queues. We got drinks when we arrived from the outside bar as it was too early to check in, service and drinks were good but we were bothered by an extremely large amount of flies, couldn’t even put our drink down! This wasn’t very pleasant, the hotel was all very clean so no idea why so many! Nice quiet adults only swimming pool with views of the sea but again hampered by flies especially if you had a drink. The other pool was an infinity pool for families which we did spend some time at too as it still wasn’t too busy. Happy hour on cocktails at the pool bar too and seemed to not have so many flies around. Very nice Italian restaurant, had an evening meal there and a lunch, also receive 10% discount for staying in the hotel. All areas of the hotel were clean and smart, some of the staff could be a bit more cheerful but were polite. Went to the spa and had treatments which were all good and tried the indoor pool and hot tub and sauna. The hotel is quite remote so couldn’t really walk anywhere but Ubers were very easy to get and were quick and reasonable. There is also a free shuttle to a few places but we didn’t use this. The sea is so close and there is a very small bit of beach you could have a paddle if you wanted but not somewhere to spend any length of time. Overall this hotel was very good and we had a lovely time, except for the fly problem!
