This place is simply delightful! Where do I start? Melinda, our host, was simply charming. Very knowledgeable about the area and had many good recommendations for dinner. The breakfast she assembled for us the next morning was tasty and filling. Our accommodations were perfect. The night was incredibly quiet and I got a fantastic night's sleep on a great mattress. The wi-fi speed was quite a bit faster than I'm even used to at home. Right across the street from the VMFA too! Simply a charming location, gracious host and fantastic breakfast. Would absolutely stay there again!

We first visited this very charming B and B a few years ago, when it was privately run. We were initially concerned to learn it had be sold to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, but it had lost none of it's charm: elegant and funky at the same time. And we were greeted by the new inn-keeper, Melinda, who was every bit as warm and personable as the former owner. We love being directly across from the museum, so we can go in and out all day. We also love staying in a comfy, elegant but also very homelike setting.

We stayed in the carriage house which is very very small. Be sure that you check out the dimensions of this space before you book. There were no drawers to unpack your suitcase, so I kept my clothes on the floor. Aside from the carriage house space, the house is very charming and Melinda is a great host. The location is excellent.

We stayed in the Carriage House for our 25th anniversary. What a sweet and delightful space! We were treated to two monrings of a wonderful homemade breakfast with THE BEST strawberry jam I have ever had! Steps away from the VMFA, this gorgeous historic home provides museum district fun with a quiet, breezy retreat. We will visit again soon!

We stayed in the Carriage House, which was very charming! It is a quick walk to the VMFA, and close to some great restaurants as well! Breakfast was a treat and included delicious homemade jam and all the comfort of a home-cooked meal! We are already planning on staying again when in Richmond.
