My wife and I stayed here for a short weekend break in June 2022 and were impressed by the experience, from our interactions with professional and friendly staff to our dinner and breakfast in the Westham tavern. Our 8th-floor corner room had a view of the Virginia Capitol building and had great natural light. It is in walking distance of downtown attractions and a short drive from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Celia and the Omni Richmond saved us from an AirB&B corporate apartment rental disaster. Tired from driving and looking for a place to stay last min at 10pm, Celia at the front desk was incredibly friendly, empathetic and super helpful in setting us up with a wonderful room for the evening and, within minutes, my family’s stress was finally relieved. Her courteous service is applauded and super appreciated. Similar to a previous review I saw posted, the staff is first rate and their hospitality is impressive. And their two double beds room is very nice, has lots of upgraded touches, and is very well kept for an older hotel. Great linens, comfortable beds and overall an excellent stay so far. The perfect hotel for older families, too. Would highly recommend to stay here. Thanks again, Celia!…
I stayed here 13 years ago on a guy's weekend away. My wife and I stayed this past weekend for our anniversary night away and were ecstatic to do so. The property has only gotten better, and the service is still second to none. Thanks to Chantaye (sp?) and Kent at the front desk, as well as Christian and Wayne at the valet stand for making our stay even better. The service at this hotel is outstanding. Staff was cleaning the lobby as we checked in. Each time we came downstairs, they were cleaning. Our room, was #722 and was a king deluxe. Spotless, amazingly comfortable, welcoming and quiet. The view from the room wasn't bad either, facing the city and the State Capitol just two blocks north. Our room was extremely large, with a huge flat screen tv, comfy linens with huge puffy pillows. The bathroom was huge as well, large rain shower with a roomy tub also. All of the standard extras in the bathroom, toiletries that smelled great and plenty of room for two people to be in there at once. We were at the end of a hallway, far enough away from the elevators so it was quiet, not hearing traffic from the hallway. Valet parking was $30 for overnight. When you drop your car in the circle, they send you a text. Whenever you're ready to get your car, just click the link and shortly thereafter, you're good to go. Valets were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. A pleasure to deal with them. The hotel is within walking distance to Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom home to tons of shops, cafes, eateries, markets and more. Minutes away as well from Canal Walk and the James River. Two blocks south of the State Capitol. We literally walked everywhere and we happy to do so. The weather was spectacular and made our stay even more enjoyable. We didn't go in, but there is a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel as well. Overall, just a fantastic experience. Would return again and again. With service as we experienced, along with a gorgeous room, I would highly recommend the Omni Richmond Hotel to anyone staying in Virginia's capital.…
Conveniently located within walking distance to the Amtrak Main Street Station! Clean rooms, well decorated property with a full service Starbucks inside. Be sure to hit the fitness center and take a dip in their pool. This hotel offers some stunning views of the Capitol building.
They con you into paying more. Had a wedding to attend there made reservations. They had an issue with the link for the wedding then made me pay full price and won’t go back to give me the discount rate
During horrendous trip on I-64 from Staunton during snowstorm called 800 number google listed as booking concierge for all hotels in Richmond (Expedia) booked $270 room here. When we arrived, evening desk clerk recommended restaurant in hotel for dinner - it was closed before 7pm which he didn't know. After practically begging him to do so, he tried several restaurants which were all closed. He sugessted hot dog place that had good dogs and fries. We ended up with pizza delivery. When we awoke we tried speed dial buttons on room phone for "Concierge" "Guest Services" and "Front desk" which all connected to central voice answering ( "Push 1 for reservation" Push 2 for billing" etc.) We discovered that no breakfast was available at hotel either room service or restaurant, and the morning desk clerk recommended a nearby Irish Pub might have breakfast?? (Bangers & Mash?) Room was clean and had good towels so Kudos to housekeeping. Forget about service or even helpful staff. Best value turned out to be valet parking provided by sub contracted parking company. Valet was extremely helpful, loaded bags for us and was polite and personable. Pizza take out place Picola's Provided Salads, pasta, great meatballs and cheesy garlic bread and even delivered two bottles of wine! Don't waste your money on a stay here at this "luxury" hotel, rooms are nice and clean and they have good towels, but the same may be said for many chain motels at less than 1/2 the price - and their desk clerks are better informed and willing to help their guests.…
This establishment says it is a "luxury" hotel. That's where they lost us. Checked in at 7pm on Monday night. Desk clerk pointed out the location of the restaurant. It was closed. There were no dining options. We had to order pizza delivery. The desk clerk had to be prompted to recommend a place to use. We had to ask him if he would mind calling to find out if any of the places on the list he finally gave us was open, since he didn't know. In the room, the bed was very comfortable and the room clean. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. No binder or any other packet of information about any services...breakfast? Services in the area? We had to call the desk to find out about breakfast and were recommended an Irish pub. Seriously. Last night the one place the clerk was able to tell us about before we asked for a list was a hot dog joint. We paid $270.gor the room. And $30. for parking. We ended up here because we were caught in the Mid-Atlantic snowstorm and had to get off the highway. Given a choice, we would have chosen a Hampton Inn, or Courtyard by Marriott, or other place like that.…
Stayed here during a weekend visit with friends. The hotel was in the business district, which was dead on a weekend but within walking distance of restaurants, outdoor activity spaces (e.g., the canal walk), and historic sites. Experienced contactless check-in but staff were around and available for questions. The room was standard and enough space for two. The hotel was not full which is why I was baffled that we were given a room in a corner of one floor with rooms that were filled with other guests instead of spreading us out on the floor. For the most part, it was quiet but I did hear children in the hallway. The room and hotel were clean. I would stay here again.
The physical hotel is fine, clean, nice lobby and rooms. We had a suite with a living room, bedroom with king bed, and adjoining bedroom with two double beds for a family wedding. The patio next to the pool on the third floor is a great place to gather if warm enough to be outside. The gentleman who helped me organize the wedding block was amazingly accommodating with last minute reservations and changes. Omni has the most generous contract I could find when booking a wedding block. The location is great as guests could walk to restaurants. One of two issues we had was when my 94 year old mother in law (who had been traveling 10 hours due to canceled flights) checked in on a Friday evening when my husband and I were at the rehearsal dinner. The gentleman at registration told her they did not have a reservation for her and the hotel was completely sold out. I had made her reservation and had a registration list with her name on it. After some phone calls with the front desk, they were able to find the reservation and check her in. It was just incompetent and lacking in customer service. The second issue concerned the brunch we hosted at the Omni Sunday morning. The gal who helped me organize it was great. But the two times I went to the buffet to get some eggs, the platter was empty. My husband had to tell the wait staff to refill the coffee. Again, a little sloppy. I will not host anything here again.…
Feels corporate for sure but that's not the end of the world. Conveniently located clean and easy. There is a gym and a starbucks in the lobby. Getting to and from the hotel from the airport is easy as well. If Uber is surging, the taxis aren't too crazy, I think we paid $30 for ours.
